Misleading advertising and labelling.
The online ad says “100% of our customers can’t tell the difference between our tie and luxury brands” and positioned its $50 ties against $300 luxury ties. The quality is nowhere near that comparison and feels much closer to inexpensive mass-produced synthetic ties from China.
The marketing also gives the impression that the ties are made in Australia, with wording that “We make ties from this small island on the bottom of the globe.” The ties are actually DESIGNED in Australia but MADE in China.
The material descriptions are also questionable. “Satin” and “microfibre” describe a weave rather than the underlying fibre. The ties appear to be polyester and the ad and website actively tried to misled consumers.

Thank you for taking the time to set your concerns out so clearly, and I am sorry the ties have not lived up to what you expected.
A few points that may help. Our ties are designed here in Melbourne and manufactured overseas by partners we have worked with for many years. The fabric of each tie is listed in the product description on its own page, and our microfiber is a woven synthetic made from recycled plastic bottles recovered from the ocean, which is something we are quite proud of.
Your comments about how our advertising reads have been passed to our marketing team, because if the wording gave you that impression then it is worth us taking a proper look at it.
We would also like to resolve this with you directly. As your review does not show contact or order details on our end, we have submitted a request for your information through Trustpilot so we can locate your order and look into this internally. Once we have that, our team will be in touch with you.
In the meantime, please know you are very welcome to return the ties for a full refund, Gab. You are also welcome to contact our customer care team at any point, and we will take care of it straight away.

The Brothers of OTAA make gorgeous ties, bowties, shirts, and socks. This Aussie company also has great commercials and an amazing sense of humor. What other company certifies you as a handsome bastard for wearing their products? Their knitted ties have unique patterns and spectacular, rich colors. The socks have wonderful printed designs such as dinosaurs that are fun and draw approving comments. Also deserving praise is their fast delivery from Down Under. When you consider that a roo can only jump a maximum of 40-50 feet and then must swim to America to deliver the OTAA goods, well 'tis fair amazin' that their goods arrive in a week or so. I'll be buying more of their products just to be able to pet the roo when it shows up at my door. An A++ company.

Five stars from a legend, and we are stoked. Knowing OTAA is where you head when you want a tie nobody else in the room is wearing, that is the sort of news that gets the whole crew grinning down here. You made our day.
Our knitted range is the one we fuss over most, so it is ace to hear the colours are landing the way we hoped, and the dinosaurs pulling compliments out in the wild is a fantastic bonus.
Now, about the roo. We should come clean, Jonathan. He only gets as far as the beach, then hands your parcel to our carrier pigeons, who take the long haul across the Pacific. Never late, never a complaint, paid entirely in crumbs. Still happy to send the roo round for a pat though.

Purchased a bow tie. Pretty poor quality - looked almost costume-like, and not quite the same colour as pictured. I couldn't use it.

Complementary but not too matchy matchy!
I was looking for a tie for my other half that would complement my dress for a family wedding we were very much looking forward to. Didn't want to be TOO matchy matchy but also wanted to look like we'd thought about this thing before we got there.
Images on screen were a good reflection of what we received, colours and pattern wise, but it's hard to see quality or know how the fabric would feel. Happy to say we were delighted with the quality and feel of the fabric and the beautiful packaging, which meant it arrived in pristine condition (and has a chance of staying that way in the chaos of his wardrobe unlike all the other poor neglected ties!)
