I made a purchase of several items online, amounting to several hundred dollars. I never received a receipt. I had to jump through hoops with Customer Service over the phone to have one emailed to me.
Shame on me, but I hadn't read their return policy, assuming it would be like any other reputable, quality department store. One of the items I purchased was a pair of dress shoes my nephew had wanted for his birthday a couple of months later. Unfortunately, once he received the gift and tried to put on the shoes, he said he couldn't even get his foot in (despite the shoes being his size). I went to the Nordstrom Rack to return the shoes and was told they would not accept them as the purchase had been 67 days earlier, per policy. Brand new shoes that still have the stickers, packing, box, etc., could not be returned or even merit a store credit. So, unless you're a last-minute shopper for others' gifts, you'd best stay clear of this store.
Before I could even ask a question about the policy, the clerk shouted "next" to move me along and bring the next customer forward (I had literally only been standing there long enough to hear her tell me the store policy). Her rudeness was the kicker for me. I won't buy anything from them again.

Terrible first time buying experience! I bought a $90 pair of sunglasses. They have some damage. Nothing major, but some scratches, dirt and grime, a hole in the arm, and a visible knick in the frame. For $90, they should be prefect. Damage-free. I was told I could return them but that the item is out of stock, so a replacement isn’t possible. Then I get an email saying good news, the item is now back in stock. 30 minutes later, oops, sorry for the confusion, it’s not in stock. They should at this point give me a partial refund. Which they refused to do. I will never buy from them again, nor recommend them.
Bad shopping experience
I’ve always had positive experiences with Nordstrom, but unfortunately, this recent purchase fell short of expectations. I bought a Marc Jacobs purse as a Mother’s Day gift for my wife, thinking it would be brand new and pristine—especially given Nordstrom's reputation for quality and customer care. However, upon opening the package to inspect the item, I discovered that the purse had been previously used. Inside, there were multiple receipts left by the former customer, which clearly indicated it had been returned before being sent out to me.
This is extremely disappointing. As a loyal customer, I expect Nordstrom to uphold higher standards, ensuring that all items listed as new are thoroughly inspected before resale. The fact that this transaction occurred reflects a lapse in quality control that is simply unacceptable. I trusted Nordstrom to provide a flawless shopping experience, and this incident has left me frustrated and hesitant. I hope Nordstrom takes steps to prevent such oversights in the future

Absolutely unprofessional due to lack of communication, customer service, and order fulfillment. It has been complete chaos since day 1 of ordering. From the miscommunication between carrier and Nordstrom Rack to being lied to by OnTrac regarding a requirement for a signature for a package less than $100 which included kids clothes for school. Let me get this correct, order was not delivered because I was not there to sign for the package? Where and when was this communicated before hand? Order delayed, still no school clothes for my 6 year old. I guess its sweats again on this hot and sunny day. This is completely unacceptable and unjustifiable.

Nordstrom wouldn't send me back a dress sent to them in error
I had the same thing happen to me as I see in another review. Horrible return policy. I returned the wrong dress to them and the wrong dress to Macy's. Macy's returned the dress to me and Nordstrom didn't. I called and got the run around. I emailed a complaint and they said they'd try to locate the dress and I didn't hear back until I contacted them again. They say they recycle the items that don't belong to them. Well, I'm pretty sure that means the trash or an employee has my $100 dress. It ridiculous that they make the $ they do and can't return a mistake. Will never shop there again.

I love Nordstrom‘s rack. I love the deals. I love the shoes. I love the clothes. My biggest complaint is their music. Why do they insist on having teenage type music? Do they not know that there are older shoppers that don’t enjoy that loud banging music. Please stop. It makes me not want to shop and I spend a lot of money at Nordstrom’s rack.

Cashier/Store Manager being biased
Today, I did some shopping at Nordstrom Rack in Schererville, Indiana. While shopping, I noticed this beautiful blazer. I hesitated to grab it, but eventually, I did.
As I began placing my items on the table, the cashier began to peel off the ticket price on the blazer, and I asked her why. She stated that the price wasn’t being recognized by the POS system. The cashier then called a manager.
The manager came to the register and she too began to peel off all the price stickers. She then told me she needed to investigate the issue! She took the blazer with her.
After thinking while at the register, I wanted to make sure my video captured her face and the blazer, so I asked them to bring the blazer back to the register.
The treatment was disheartening and embarrassing! I have been an overly active customer with Nordstrom Rack in Scherville.
The majority of the items a purchased today needed a price adjustment because the POS system wasn't capturing the sales price.

I was shopping at the location in Framingham last night. Sale sweaters were 40% off..one of the sweaters I was getting rang up wrong and the “assistant”refused to adjust the price. He then adjusted the price but then refused to take off the 40% off. He then called the SM..SM told him to adjust it. I am embarrassed for him. Eight days later I get an email that my dress was delivered. Immediately I go outside to locate my package,no where to be found and wasnt placed in mailbox. Call nordstroms and was told sorry we will give you a refund in 5 business days. What awful customer service I asked if the dress can be shipped to a store and supervisor was extremely unwilling to help said NO just a refund. I will never buy from your store again or order online.
Its not always about the money, this dress was specifically for this event and was counting on it since now I didnt have the time to go out and shop, I had to cancel my reservation on Valentines day.
