Jury is still out on this piece of kit.

The tech is clearly leaps ahead of others, but the comfort and the suitability, not so much. I find this slips off my head every night, and if I'm getting anywhere near 50% of the use intended, I'll be surprised.

The comfort of the strap is very poor, and undesired. Needs better comfort and ease of use to actually stay on.

I believe it is a valuable enhancement for helping with eye/vision issues, but a annual cost of around £960 is an expensive item,
It should be available throughout the NHS.
Being a diabetic I could see and feel differences with my eyeshight

I’ve been a T1 diabetic for nearly 50 years and have had background retinopathy for probably the best part of 10 years. I’ve been using the eye mask for over 5 years and my background retinopathy (thankfully) has remained stable with no progression or treatment required. I’m hopeful by continuing to wear the eye mask it will stay this way.
The eye mask is comfortable to wear and I get good quality sleep whilst wearing it.
The service offered by Noctura is excellent, very helpful and efficient.

I've only been using Noctura for about 2 months so far and have been achieving amazing results. For some background, I have PDR and DMO and had a very rapid deterioration in my eyesight after dropping my A1C too fast in a year. This lead to a vitreous hemorrhage and I started eye injections at the same time I started using Noctura. Nurses have been shocked at just how fast things have been improving and have remarked that it's very unusual to see such quick changes. I have no doubt in my mind that using Noctura has helped facilitate these rapid results. The mask takes a little getting used to but now it feels strange to get into bed without it! There are studies backing the mask, and of course, it has been developed with NHS funding so you can be assured this isn't some kind of magic beans type product. Maryam has been so helpful in my journey with Noctura and is happy to answer any questions I have, no matter how silly they might seem. She has also gone above and beyond working with another member of the team to try and secure OCT scans with my local Specsavers as I can't travel. If you're suffering from diabetic eye disease and are able to afford this wonderful, non-invasive treatment I would absolutely recommend it. It's fantastic and life changing! I've been using Noctura 400 every night for 5 years and plan to continue indefinitely! It's an easy adjustment and I love knowing something so evidence-based is also so approachable and easy to incorporate into my life. My PDR is stable, in no small part due to this life-changing technology. Thank you Polyphotonix and all the helpful staff. May the treatment grow in usage!

This mask has completely slowed down the progression of diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration thus enabling me to have a better quality of life and independent living.

I have used the Noctura mask for several years now for Type 2 Diabetes macular oedema. It has meant my eye condition has remained stable and I have not required any other treatment. The mask is easy to use and comfortable to wear. The team at Polyphotonix have always been supportive and helpful, regularly making contact to ensure I have no problems.I would thoroughly recommend the use of this mask if given the opportunity to have one.

i have had this mask for over 5 years and can say it has improved my eyesight and helped control my diabetes . i can recommend it to anyone who has problems with diabetes and fluid at the back of their eyes as it helped me with mine. i was finding i couldnt see clearly at night when i was driving, but after wearing the mask for a few months my eyesight improved greatly. Also during lockdown i wasnt able to see anyone to get a diabetes check up but found the mask helped my situation, big thanks to Alison for all her help over the years.

I was prescribed the eye mask by the consultant who was looking into some minor retina issues I had contracted. Initially I was concerned about how I would sleep whilst wearing a mask which shone lights into your eyes. My worries were unfounded and it didn't affect my sleep at all. The mask itself is comfortable to wear and doesn't interfere with sleeping at all. But just as important, the company behind the product are really keen to to ensure the user has a positive experience and listen to any piece of feedback you are willing to give. Over the years, they have been attentive and call on a regular basis to ensure everything is working as it should be. I really can't think of any negatives in my experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this treatment too anyone who is contemplating taking it up.

Found the deliveries and the team efficient and effective and always get the mask to me on time. have been wearing the mask for some years and after doctors told me my sight would deteriorate to not be able to drive within a few years, here i am 6-7 years later and driving well, with no retinal bleeds. The technology has been life changing for me, plus the service from the team has been great. i am in their debt and very grateful.

I have been type 1 diabetic for 30 years and having laser treatment which I hated on a regular basis until I read about the Noctura sleep mask 10 year ago I signed up for it and have never looked back, after approximately using it for 9 month I no longer needed the laser treatment. The mask takes a little while to get used to but is not uncomfortable and I know if it hadn't been for the mask I would now be blind

I have been a Type 1 Diabetic for 59 years and am now 74. I first started with Retinopathy about 40 years ago and have had multiple sessions of Laser Treatment.
I first joined the medical trial for the Noctura mask 10 years ago and have had 41 masks in that time and my Retinopathy has stabilised with no further bleeding and my Macular Oedema has reduced to normal levels in both eye’s enabling me to have Cataracts removed in both eyes 3 months ago with no increase in the Macular Oedema in either eye.
I would highly recommend the Noctura mask to any diabetic suffering Type 1 Retinopathy

I am a type 1 diabetic who had suffered from retinopathy and had laser treatment in both eyes. I started wearing the mask over 8 years ago and after a year I was discharged from the eye clinic and never suffered any further bleeds or was in need of any further treatment since.
The Noctura 400 is comfortable to wear with no side effects.
Wearing the mask and keeping my blood sugars in range has prevented any further treatment with my eyes.
I still have eyes examinations for diabetic review every year.
I would highly recommend the Noctura 400.
