Dead fish found in aquarium plant.
I purchased a Java fern attached to a drift wood log yesterday, it was taken from one of the aquarium tanks as a “well established plant”. I was curious as to why my tank was having unusual ammonia spikes today. After much further inspection to my disgust I have found half a carcass of a deceased fish wedged into the base of the plant. I am worried now about the health of my current fish and I am absolutely appalled at this and will never return to this store.
BBQ Clesning Service
BBQ cleaning service is useless. Money for doing nothing. Follow-up to complaint extremely poor. Out of pocket for €159. Would not recommend. Bought lots of product over the years here and am extremely surpriced with their "don't care" attitude
Aquarium plants
Aquarium plants. Bought online. Spent 150 Euro. Very disappointed. Plants were delivered very small, damaged, weak and very very low quality. Avoid at all cost.
Bought 4 plants in store in june2025
Bought 4 plants in store in june2025. They grew well but when flowers came up at the end of July 2025 ,2 plants had different from what I bought. When I called customer service they say it’s not their fault and that it comes from other plant companies . So I told them it’s not my fault the plant is not what it was supposed to and I paid higher price for the climatis multi pink and the climatis I got was having different flowers. So then they say bring the receipt which I did not have any more or the plants back for refund . Both the plants had all grown and the climatis was on the trellis . But wanted me to pull it out and get or they won’t do anything. Now they have asked to send pic of the plant and they will see what they can do.
Last year I did online order and they sent me broken plant and when I complained they won’t do anything about it.
Never buy again from there.

The dahlias I ordered bear no resemblance to the photo on the website,and are poor quality plants,I emailed the company several days ago--still no response

Staff need to be restrained I…
Staff need to be restrained I understand it was 5 minutes to closing but to give someone the wrong information that could potentially kill a fish is crazy .I I was told that a goldfish beare in mined a cold water fish should be in a heated tank this would increase their metabolism and therefore shortened their life expectancy goldfish are cold water fish and should be kept in a moderate temperature not a heat tank as they told me. Back in the day goldfish were kept in goldfish bowls I did not see a heat pump on them please investigate this.

Sent me two strawberry trees I ordered one was ok but the other was awful diseased and broken! I emailed immediately but still to date have had no response! As others said they ask for a review then delete it if it’s not a five star one. I definitely wouldn’t buy from this company ever again.

I placed an online order and paid for items that are advertised available but are not.
I placed an online order and paid for a selection of plants that were advertised on the website. The next day I received an email to say half of the items on my order (6 plants/bulbs) were out of stock and unavailable and did I still want to go ahead we the plants that were available. I promptly replied yes. I haven't heard from them since, a week now. They haven't replied to my enquiry email either... And I'm still waiting for a refund....
Update... Plant arrived yesterday. Well packaged and healthy.
I am 8 days waiting for my refund for 4 unavailable items that were listed as available! (8 days) 😕
Christening cake
The bakery made a Christening cake for us which was visually stunning and tasted fabulous. Wonderful service

“Alan” asked why I was disappointed and he couldn’t track the error. No apology in sight and I have seen another review also only receiving orange thunbergias.

This was a stone statue, it was heavily wrapped in 3 layers of heavily bubble wrapped & double boxed filled with corrugated cardboard. It’s a while since I’ve seen so much care taken with packaging. Item arrived in perfect order. Very pleased.
Very Poor Quality and Service
The quality of plants delivered was very poor, they were meant to be ever green but had no leaves in May, just 3inch twigs and one I knew was dead on arrival by looking at it, I planted it just in case but it hasnt taken. I paid €24.95 each, so €50.00 total and €9.00 delivery charge. I emailed my concerns and pictures but no response. A complete waste of money and lesson not to buy plants online again.
Dont buy from Newlands
I ordered and paid for aquatic plants on may 16th and ive recieved no notification of dispatch or anything other than confirmation of my order , Newlands havnt replied to my emails and arent answering their phone .
Buyer beware it seems you will be paying fir plants you wont recieve.
Edit : An honest but poor review does push Newlands into action , plants despatched after review and arr8ved this morning , healthy plants , real shame about the poor customer service

Did a online order of some pond plants and reptile stuff , when my parcel arrived I realised they had sent me the wrong plants so sent them a email with photos of what was delivered and also of what was ordered, they just told me that they where sorry but no money back and wouldn't send the plants I ordered ,, and then they just stopped replying to my email ,, I have been shopping with them for years so was very taken back buy the horrible customer service..

I ordered and paid for plants on 17th February this year, for delivery from March onwards. Nothing has come so I emailed them several times with no response. I've tried all the different emails but no one replies. I am appalled at their service. D.Kibby
I ordered early as a Christmas gift.
I ordered early as a Christmas gift for my sister in Cork. They were holding for me for a close to Christmas delivery. The Bonsai I ordered looked lovely in the photo`s in a ceramic base. They contacted me before delivery to say the ordered item was not available now and they would send a replacement. What was delivered looked like a twig from a privet hedge with zero desirable Bonsai characteristics in a white pot & wonky stand and nothing like the displayed photo in the advertisement. I asked for it to be replaced with the item I ordered or a refund. They did not bother to reply to that email and have had no contact since. I would not therefore recommend web purchases from this company.

Unfortunate experience
Unfortunate experience, incorrect information on website lead to incorrect delivery and left me without the gift I wished to give, mistakes happen but very unhelpful proprietor re refund which is a shame as his staff were lovely , big thank you to Claire who did her very best to sort the situation out , she is an asset to any company. Ironically it was the proprietor who let the side down . Refund finally granted , my recommendation would be to try some of the other Irish companies instead , there are many wonderful online Irish garden centres who provide a super service. Again a big thank you to Claire for her attention.
Great live reptile food!
Purchase online for my bearded dragons live food and the insect quality is amazing and packaging is the best I've seen. Always plenty of stock and easy ordering overall. Great customer service when something goes wrong.
