Suspicious unsolicited phone call from an unknown number

I received an unexpected call at 8:34 am on my ex-directory landline from the number displayed as 01392922023. I answered the call but did not speak, waiting for the caller to identify themselves. After a short period of silence, the call was disconnected.

I checked the number using 1471 and carried out an online search. The number appeared to be associated with net-work.net, and I found several online reports and reviews relating to this number.

I cannot confirm the reason for the call or who was behind it, but the experience raised concerns for me. I understand that some automated calling systems may use unanswered or silent calls to identify active numbers, although I cannot confirm that this was the case here.

My advice is to be cautious when receiving unexpected calls from unknown numbers. Avoid sharing personal information, allow callers to identify themselves first, and independently verify the identity of anyone claiming to represent a company or organisation. I have chosen not to engage further with this caller and would recommend others exercise caution.

just told social services im taking them to high court for judicial review. this number callls u just long enough to try aand download spyware. looked up their company. net work internet. says they get emails and other data for government agencies. i have 2 vpn and tor so they keep trying

This is a company that provides services to scam callers. Unfortunately I'm sure the people who work there still manage to sleep well at night. Disgusting.

They rang my wife who has Dementia.
It was a man, an I was out at the time.
They need banning cos there using the Net-Work Internet.
To run their scam on energy advice!

spammers - robo calls to tps registered numbers

Company allows other companies to use their landline phone numbers for scam/harassment calls and do nothing about it.

Spam type call on our landline phone. Said they were operating on behalf of the government to checkout people's houses for asbestos. Operator had a South African accent. Told them to go away. Afterwards looking up the number it came up with Net-Work Internet Ltd, Skelmersdale. Obviously nothing to do with networks or asbestos, just a scam. Number they used was: 01695 311008 - probably spoofed?

I have received months of scam calls by people who are provided UK landline numbers by the people who own this company. On looking them up there are a string of dissolved companies in their wake.

They keep phoning my 86 year-old husband who has nothing to do with the internet in our house and never has. No idea where they got his number from or why they target him. Perhaps they only deal with the vulnerable. Please don't give them business.

Net-Work Internet Ltd. are apparently the owners of the phone number 01335 440016. Scam calls are made from this number with the caller calling themselves "Your local energy advisor". These cold calls are made to numbers which are registered with the TPS and are therefore illegal: I have reported this to the ICO. I therefore recommend that dealings with this business should be avoided at all cost.
