I own a franchise for a popular chain of salons that performs hair removal services. We've had an extremely difficult time keeping receptionists on staff ever since the pandemic. After numerous rounds of hiring and last minute resignations, I decided to look into an answering service.
My salon desk was recommended to me by a colleague. I set up a custom plan based on our call volume, and the process was absolutely seamless. They happen to already be trained on the software we used and are already familiar with all of the services we offer which made the onboarding process of breeze! I have gotten nothing but compliments from my customers.
Most importantly, I'm saving several thousand dollars each month in payroll costs by outsourcing receptionist work.
Adding My Salon Desk has been the best decision I have ever made! Its been incredibly convenient to have remote support with my clients. Our business is large and we also offer e-commerce, so the professionalism and courtesy they provide is appreciated.
I've been completely satisfied so far with My Salon Desk. From the onboarding period to phone answering, everything has been a breeze for us. We were selected for a beta test of advertising services and have also seen a big boost to our profits from new Aesthetic leads. Their ads have been so successful that we're likely going to discontinue our current marketing relationship once My Salon Desk officially launches it as a feature.
BEWARE IF YOU TRY TO CANCEL! I tried this service out for my lash business and while I was happy with the service, there are major downfalls. They will not take credit cards for clients unless you use a very specific software or very high call volume. I already had changed software that was a lot easier than my previous booking system to help with this but cards were still not taken unless I use 1 of the 3 softwares they recommend. Because of this I happen to have a lot of no shows. That wasn’t worth me renewing with the amount of no shows I was having. Plus they just upped my plan another $50 a month for a price increase. On the email I got about the increase it said you can make changes to your account as long as it was by the 3rd of the month. I was willing to continue my service for another month to see if I could work out the credit card issue but I unexpectedly ran into a financial issue and didn’t feel the $800+ a month was worth it nor could I afford it anymore. When I sent an email asking if I could cancel I was reminded that I needed to cancel at least 7 days before my billing cycle (mine ended in 5 days) and since I was 2 days too short I would be charged 35% of my plan ($260+). I was very confused and upset because on their email it says all plan updates must be made by the 3rd of the month. I told them I was having financial issues and wanted to let them know as soon as possible that I was canceling and I was immediately THREATENED saying they would “pursue civil litigation and/or debt collection” for the money. I wish I could attach the email I was sent because I was so upset and embarrassed that I trusted a company like this to handle my clients! Even if I messed up the cancellation terms (which are confusing), immediately threatening a customer is so unprofessional! My account was immediately suspended after that even though I still had some days left within my billing cycle that I paid for PLUS I was told I’m going to be charged the late cancellation fee of $260. Super unprofessional company!! I will never recommend!
*Edited after company response* Their response alone should tell you everything you need to know about their level of customer service. Stooping as low as leaking their own clients information publicly in an attempt to harass and intimidate them to delete their review. Ironically, 25 minutes after posting this review I had 3 fake negative reviews posted on my business page that this company clearly admitted to looking up. Their response should show their true colors as a company. Disgusting.
