To start off, you don’t get greeted by a host. You get a phone call giving you instructions on how to enter the property and the number used to call does not work afterwards. The listing says you meet the host but this is actually a self check in property and they were late. I had traveled 3 hours to get here and had to wait longer for a phone call to just get into the building. I planned my time around a check in time they requested as though they were meeting me. When you travel that far, it’s quite stressful.

When We arrived, the place was FILTHY. There was still used oven trays inside the oven, unwashed. The 2 pots they provide still had food on them. The kitchen is not fully equipped. We had to go out and buy more equipment to cook with. The amenities listed are not true. We had to go out and buy the majority of what they said they offer.
The worst part was we had to spend 6 nights and 7 days on the floor as the bed was broken when we arrived. It fell to the ground as we were sleeping. We told Helen and Ally this every day and they did nothing. Their response time averages once a day. They just kept saying they will tell the manger but nobody ever got in touch with us regarding the problem. Nobody gave us a solution.
The kitchen tap was wobbly and kept falling. The shower nozzles were stuck so we couldn’t change the temperature and it was scorching hot. We had no washing up liquid, no bin liners, no bathroom soap and no toilet roll.
The WiFi did not work for the entirety of our stay. I told the hosts and they said I bought the property without wifi which is a lie as the listing doesn’t say anything about paying extra for wifi and it is listed in their amenities. I also couldn’t help but notice other reviews talking about WiFi and the hosts responded saying this was a rectified issue so they just lied. They just don’t have wifi.
The bedroom has no proper windows. It has blinds that are ductaped onto the windowsill so you cannot even open it and allow fresh air and day light into the bedroom.
The living room window at the top won’t close properly . It’s just a mess.

I paid nearly £300 for this property and it was awful. The worst experience I have ever had in a property. The bare minimum was not even met. Couldn’t even call this a budget property, it’s worse than that.
To Helen and Ally, thanks for nothing. The worst hosts I’ve ever come across. Not helpful in the slightest. To property host company as a whole, your professionalism is in the awful. The whole building is badly managed. When you walk up the corridors, it stinks. Did not have a single person come and check the property in question. We had to stay on the floor for the entirety of our stay, and no talk of being refunded came up. They did not even entertain the thought of possibly putting us in another property as a gesture of good will. Upon check out the cleaner arrived and said that there is going to be people checking in later in the day despite the problems I made the company aware of. This company evidently forgot that it’s human beings they’re dealing with.

When I called the company they kept saying they’ll get back to me and then they never did. Sill can’t get over the fact we had to spend all week on the floor.

Could I give them no stars?

The customer service is non existent. Communication zero. I have been in my accommodation at Charles House Winckley Square in Preston for 10 days now. I reported a broken toilet seat and no internet. They don't care.

There is no mattress on the bed, just two sponge pads, there is nowhere proper to sit to eat as the bar stools in the kitchen are the wrong height. The links do not work for clean bedding. I have also been advised that if I expect any clean linen during my 4 week stay, that I will have to pay additionally for it!

The worst bit however is that the building is absolutely filthy disgusting, there are maggots and flies, litter everywhere, bags of garbage being left in stairwells and it smells absolutely terrible. I have just had to climb over bags of garbage to get into the bin store, as they threaten that if you are caught leaving bags on the floor they will deduct your deposit in full!

This company is unreal! Buyer BEWARE!!!

The apartment was fantastic
It was brand new one and had all the amenities available.Was very clean and near to the Town centre
I would definitely recommend for someone who wants to commute to central London or work as a Dr in William Harvey Hospital

Great location

Easy check-in and friendly host. Clear and concise explanation on the surrounding area. House location is great. Easy to find and accessible to mall, bus station and train station.

Worst experience I have ever had with a…

Worst experience I have ever had with a letting company incompetent management staff namely Elena very inconsiderate when I had to break my contract with them… explain I was enduring more and more dept staying in but did she did not want to listen… it took me to have to book myself in for a stay and change locks to my apartment to regain possession of it, which ended up costing me money… there is no transparency on how money is deducted they deduct more than half your earnings and you hardly make anything out of it… I had 2 properties managed by them an apartment and a house… One of the beds in the house broke and they volunteered to replace it only to dump the broken frame in the garden for months and did not bother to clear it out until a neighbour told me it had been dumped in the garden… the garden was not being maintained yet they were advertising the house to have an accessible garden, I could write a whole book of why never to give your property for them to manage… Elena has zero HR skills she is very unempathetic unprofessional and inconsiderate I do wonder how she is managing other properties because I found her whole conduct atrocious!!! If at all possible please avoid this company!!!!

Charged hundreds of pounds for parking in garage in assigned spoy

My wife and I traveled from over seas and stayed in an apartment in East Grinstead while visiting family in the area. During that time, we rented a car. We were giving a key fob to enter the parking garage, told which spot to park in, and followed the directions given to us by the host. We were never given any parking tickets or told what we were doing was incorrect.

A month after we arrived home we were contacted by the car rental company that we had parking tickets for parking in the garage. By this time, the window to dispute the tickets had closed and the fine increased an additional 40 pound (100 total). On top of that, the rental car company charge us an additional 240 as an administrative fee to pay the fine. As of now, we've been notified of at least 6 PCNs and the total cost to me is +700 pound.

A warm welcome and nice apartment

Welcomed by Luke who was great - told us about local restaurants and on site facilities- what a lovely and helpful guy. - a real asset to you. Our apartment was good, clean and had all we needed (didn’t realise there was a washer /dryer which was handy!)
Would come again!

Everything was clean

Everything was clean, the place was safe and didn’t face any trouble, the check in was easey as the check out . The host kept contacting to support if any questions i had. In the middle of the town great spot, overall a perfe Cozy place to stay at. Thankyou🤍
