MOTO Scotch Corner bans caravans
Hello fellow Caravan users, over the years as a Coach Driver and now towing my caravan, I've used Scotch Corner for many years, and in recent years, I've met many fellow caravaners using Scotch Corner
As a Coach driver, I always gave other road users using Scotch Corner respect, even caravan users, I'd grown up with my parents caravanning, anyway, the parking area in Scotch Corner I always thought was large enough to accommodate both Coaches and Caravans.
However, it seems MOTO Services thinks overwise, it turns out they actually banned Caravans and HGV's from Scotch Corner some time ago, there's a sign telling Caravan users to stay away from Scotch Corner, and when you think Southwaite Services on the M6 and Scotch Corner Services are both owned by MOTO, they have a monopoly on the A66, and are being unfair to Caravan users crossing the A66.
So, if MOTO want to ban Caravan users from Scotch Corner, I think Caravan users should ban MOTO, Caravan users should simply stay away from ALL MOTO Services, and let MOTO see what it's like being banned, I myself will never use a MOTO services again, Welcome Break will be my Services of choice, Welcome Break welcome caravan users, MOTO can keep their parking areas.
I honestly feel that this rule introduced by MOTO so long ago, will be changed if we stick together, how many times have you crossed the A66 thinking, "Thankfully we'll be at Scotch Corner soon", now, you don't have that coffee to look forward to, what you'll now need to do with your caravan in tow is, take up all the layby's, which in turn, will make life difficult for Truck Drivers trying to use the layby's on the A66.
This ban has been in place for many years, it is only now coming to light, especially after I was abused by a Coach Driver who didn't care about cursing and swearing in front of his Customers, and, the boss of this coach company stood by his Driver because I was a caravan user using Scotch Corner when I had no business being in there.
I urge that all caravan users no longer use MOTO Services, use Welcome Break, anyway, Welcome Break actually gives you a discount when you use your membership card, if you now use the A66 Layby's for your cup of coffee, remember, be considerate of Truck drivers who are also banned from Scotch Corner, Truck drivers need a cup of coffee as well
