Thapelo did a wonderful job of getting us to where we were going and telling us more than I would have thought anyone would know about the history of Johannesburg. If we come back I’ll look for him again.

We had a personalised tour, and thank our guide Khutso! He was excellent, informative and such a great host around Soweto. I would definitely recommend this tour if you are passing through Johannesburg!

We had wifi on the vechile however a bit of a slow signal it was still worth it to be able to be connected. The porridge they gave us was super delic. Big ups on the cook for that We also had soft drinks and water which very a bless since it was hot! We saw plenty of animals including about 4 of the big five. The guide were very knowledgable in this regards and the interesting information he told us all that we didnt even know. This was a well prepared trip from Moafrika side

We recently had the pleasure of taking a tour with MoAfrika Tours to the vibrant township of Soweto. The tour was exceptional, providing insightful commentary and ensuring a memorable experience. We were impressed with their commitment to the community and their involvement in supporting the local informal settlements.

We were moved by their efforts that we reached out later to the owner, Anthony, and made a donation of 70,000 rand to support their initiatives. MoAfrika Tours managed the donation with professionalism and transparency. They immediately organized skilled builders and sourced the necessary materials to construct a new classroom for the underprivileged children in the community. A special thanks to Dean in the accounting office for taking the time to coordinate the construction of the new classroom and providing a comprehensive breakdown of the funds, keeping us informed every step of the way.

We would like to encourage anyone who plans to book a Soweto tour with MoAfrika Tours to consider making a contribution towards helping the less fortunate. It could be anything from educational books to stationary. The process is convenient, as you can simply have a chat with your knowledgeable guide during the tour, and they will make stops along the way to facilitate your donation.

The MoAfrika guides were very good. Both Sunny and Itemuleng were knowledgeable and kept to schedule. Itemuleng was especially knowledgeable and we viewed a lot of game with him. We had problems at Ivory Tree Lodge where MoAfrika booked us. Bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly ( toothpaste on sink). The game ranger (Pride) was not knowledgeable and providing incorrect info. He kept us out late on both game drives and we hardly had breakfast before staff told us we were late in checking out. Food good and staff were friendly, but I wouldn’t recommend it . There r other lodges that are better. ( major problem was cleaning and lack of communication. We were also locked out of room since they gave us wrong key the first night) too much confusion for the cost and advertised as luxury.

We booked a 2 day safari tour and stayed at Ivory Tree Lodge. The rooms, food and open game drives provided by the lodge were excellent. The transfers from Johannesburg provided by MoAfrika Tours did not meet our expectations. Although we advised we would be travelling with 4 suitcases, no provisions had been made on the outbound transfer so the suitcases needed to be stacked in the aisle. The outbound transfer was a disgrace. Just before checking out of the lodge we received an email, offering us a choice between being picked up at the arranged time 11:30 AM) and spending time in Pilanesberg on a closed game drive. Or spending time in the lodge and being picked up at 2:00 PM. We chose the first option but ended up spending 3 hours in the reception area for our transfer. The people at MoAfrika Tours kept telling us they did not know why the driver did not pick us up but he would be there within 10 minutes. He arrived a little before 2 PM and was met by a group of angry people (7 in total) who had been waiting since 11 AM. And 2 people who had chosen the second option, to be picked up at 2. The driver told us that the people of MoAfrica were well aware that he would not be able to pick us up before 2PM as he was in the park woth another group of people. So obviously it had been the intention of MoAfrika from the start to pick us up at 2. They just were not honest about the situation and kept us waiting for 3 hours without food as they had us believe the drivers would be there any minute. To make things worse, the driver was supposed to wait until 3 PM to pick up 3 more people. After we refused to wait any longer (5 of us had flights to catch), he decided to leave the other 3 behind and drove us to the airport. The driver was not to blame for this mess up, solely the people at MoAfrika office.
After returning home, we sent a complaint to MoAfrika, but we have not received a reply or apologies.

I would not recommend using MoAfrika Tours, just book the lodge yourself, nearly every lodge and hotel offers transfers. No need to book through MoAfrika or any other operator.

We had a GREAT experience with MoAfrika Tours!

For starters, they offer the possibility to chat with someone on their website, and ask questions, and make your reservation. It is very easy, they really answer all questions and you can book on that online chat.

They were also very flexible! We booked two tours and with one of them we required to skip a part and they customised the tour for us and adjusted the prize.

During the two tours, we had three different guides. They are very nice and professional.

We visited the Lion Park and the Elephant Sanctuary. Both were AWESOME! We had a great time, a great experience, and loved seeing the animals and interacting with lion cubs, giraffes, and elephants.

In both tours, they came to pick us up at the hotel, and at the end left us at our hotel too.

There is nothing bad we could say about how professional and well-handled everything was! If you visit South Africa, do not hesitate to book a tour with MoAfrika Tours! The company offers a great service and it has definitely been one of the best things we experienced in South Africa!

I had an amazing 8-hour tour with an outstanding tour guide, Bobo. He was a local who grew up in Soweto, where the tour took place. This gave me a realistic and in-depth view of the city and all of the areas we visited. He was willing to answer any and all questions and was very personable. I would most definitely recommend him and MoAfrika Tours!

I have made the half day trip through Johannesburg in July 2019. The trip was very good organized, the travel guide was kind, punctual and very knowledgeable.

I really enjoyed the full day Pilanesberg safari. The pick-up at the hotel is very convenient and the drive at the park is full of great fun facts that our driver/guide provided.
Lunch is also included with the fee; there were different great options from a grilled cheese sandwich to burgers - both with fries and a soft drink.
I booked last minute and it all worked out well, no problems or confusions. I would really recommend it for anyone with short time in Joburg.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour to Soweto and the Apartheid museum. Excellent guide and very interesting places to visit. Highly recommend taking the tour with this company.

The organization of the trip was great. We got a lot of background info on Soweto and our guide, Bobo, was simply amazing.
Great guy, who was born, raised and buttered in Soweto himself. He created a great group environment from the start, which happens way too rarely on these tours.

If you have a spare day in Jo‘burg, and want to discover the real South Africa, don’t look any further!

We booked a half day Johannesburg tour and were fortunate to have Sipho (Sugar) as our guide. He picked us up at the hotel and we spent the trip visiting Nelson Mandela's home, Constitution Hill, Ghandi square, the Carlton Center and two towers. Along the way we passed through several neighborhoods and Sipho gave us some history on each. He also found us a great South African spot for lunch which was delicious! Thanks for a great time!

MoAfrica Tours offer a lot when you travel to South Africa. We took the Khuger Tour from them and we enjoyed it a lot. A bit tough on Kruger to spot all the Big 5 but still it’s worth it including the tent experience. It was our first time to sleep on tents with animals around you. Scared and excited at the same time. Then before going back to Johannesburg you will pass by Three Rondavels where the view was breathtaking!
And they also offered tours and accommodation (including the discounts and packages) we went back to Johannesgerg that really helped us in our itinerary. Very responsive in all our queries.
We stayed at Saba lodge where the rooms are big but even if a bit far from the city the good thing was the pick-up starts from there. The tour guides are very friendly and knowledgeable especially on the history. All the tours was fun and memorable. Thanks MoAfrika Tours! 😊

Sugar’s knowledge about Soweto is good I would highly recommend Moafrika tours. I had a good time.
