Missive is a collaborative email client for teams. It sits on top of the email you already use, Gmail, Outlook, or any IMAP provider, and makes it possible for several people to work one inbox without stepping on each other. Most teams arrive after outgrowing the workarounds. A shared password to one Gmail account. An inbox everybody has to read in full to work out which messages are theirs. Color-coding emails by teammate to keep track. It holds together until volume rises, and then things get missed, and usually the customer is the one who notices, by writing again to ask why nobody replied. Missive makes ownership visible instead. Assign a conversation and everyone can see who has it. Leave a comment inside the thread rather than forwarding the email around. Draft a reply together in real time. Build rules that route incoming messages to the right person automatically. There is also a built-in AI assistant that searches your inbox, checks your calendar, and drafts replies in your voice, plus SMS, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and live chat for teams handling more than email. Missive has been running since 2015. We are bootstrapped, profitable, and still owned by the founding team in Quebec City, with no investors and no plans to sell. Over 6,000 businesses use Missive daily, across property management, accounting, law, logistics, e-commerce, and professional services. We are SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliant. We are a 10 persons business in Tahiti and dealing with emails coming to 2-3 general emails like contact[at]mycompany.com or support[at]mycompany.com was commonly made by sharing the email to all our employees, which becomes a nightmare to handle: who is taking care of that email, why is that email already read, how do we share comments, files, etc...
2 years ago, we tested Front app and Missive app and went through with Missive for checking every point in our requirements! Friendly team, very productive and top-notch support.
This app should be part of the essential tools of every business.

About two years ago I switched to a workflow using Gmail in Google Chrome (plus a load of extensions), since Apple Mail (and the likes) did not suit our needs. Gmail+Chrome works, with a lot of flaws, however: a sent mail never looks the same in a clients inbox (font and size often change), teamwork is possible but not fluent, etc...
Then there was Missive. It has everything we need: a beautiful UI, great features and a lightning fast helpdesk, often providing updates and solutions within a few minutes. (Team) working is fun again.

Without hyperbole: the gold standard for an independent app
As one of the poor saps that is juggling over a dozen separate email addressed, local solutions have never worked well for me. The number of accounts as well as the magnitude of email I receive bring the clients to a crawl.
Missive has been a god send. Missive is a server based solution that handles the administration and syncing of my accounts. It's become a crucial part of my workflow and something I evangelize to anyone that will listen.
With that said, that's not why they deserve 5 stars. For the 2+ years that I've utilized Missive, the pace of iteration has been blistering. New features are added weekly, and the community dictates the development through a suggestion/voting mechanism. The team itself is the single most responsive team of any SaaS I've ever used. Emails sent are replied typically within hours, sometimes minutes, even on the weekends, and I can always rely on diligent follow ups from the lead devs.
Even when things break (which is rare, but it's real life - stuff happens) I have full faith the Missive team will come through.
There are few products I would pin my reputation on for recommendations - and this one is one.
