Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your impression of our company was not a positive one.
We would like to offer a bit of context for anyone reading this review.
MINI TIPI is an Indigenous-owned company co-founded by Trisha Pitura, who is a member of Nipissing First Nation. Our mission has always been to celebrate and support Indigenous art and culture in a respectful and meaningful way.
Our fabric, including the one our blankets are made of, is woven in Italy using a blend of recycled wool. We chose this partner because of their expertise in sustainable textile production and due to the lack of mills here in Canada. Once the fabric arrives in Canada, every product is designed, cut, sewn, and finished in our workshop in Gatineau, Quebec.
All of our designs are created either by Trisha or through collaborations with Indigenous artists. When we collaborate, artists receive royalties for as long as their design is produced. We also share the story and meaning behind each design on our website so customers can learn about the artists and the cultural inspiration behind the work.
We understand that questions about authenticity and cultural representation are important. Transparency and respect are values we take very seriously, and we’re always happy to answer questions directly.
If you would ever like to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out to us.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to clarify.
