I’ve had a terrible experience with this recruitment agency. The agent repeatedly arranges meetings but never shows up, without any explanation or follow-up. This is highly unprofessional and shows a complete lack of respect for people’s time. I would strongly advise against working with them.

Danielle was a really big help!

From start to finish Danielle, was there through the whole recruitment process, very quick in answering any questions I had and was a smooth transition from start to finish.

Helpful staff

The staff at Michael Page that I have dealt with are really helpful. I feel like they have listened to my requirements. Regular communication from several departments checking they are doing the best for me. My key contact Charlotte Ash is especially helpful and very dedicated to source me the right position to suit my skills. Happy to be on board

Poor service, lacks professionalism,

Not a good experience unfortunately. I applied for a job on 16th July 2025, despite receiving an automated email with the recruiter name Nishan Dey, I had to call numerous times to chase, only for my calls to be ignored.

I then received a call back over a week after my last call chasing them, on 13th August, and the recruiter appeared confused, did not realise who I was and seemingly had not done anything to progress my application more than a month after I applied for the role.

Fast forward 3 weeks later, and I have heard nothing. I have chased several times with no response from the recruiter. Also, I now understand why the company doesn’t provide applicants with an email address for recruiters, as that would be too accessible for us to contact the named consultant!

Poor recruitment experience, poor communication, poor service, and a complete lack of professionalism.

Shockingly rude recruiter

Had the unfortunately experience of dealing with Naomi M regarding a role she advertised. This Recruitment Consultant had very little knowledge of the role she was advertising, no idea what it entailed, continously spoke over me and was downright rude at every interaction. A month after applying for the role I got a random email advertising said role again. Her method of communication was badly scripted text messages. Obviously not someone I would deal with again, the lack of basic manners, lies regarding the role and having no idea of the industry never mind this specific role Michael Page are not a company I will waste time with.
Michael Page please recruit professionals with relevant experience and skills. And please look after your employees wellbeing so at least they aren't obnoxious when engaging with skilled candidates.

OLI HOURIGAN

I have got to give credit to OLI HOURIGAN ( Housing) This guy does what he says. He got me two interviews for head of service roles. I recently got offered one but it was not the right fit. He deserves this review as out all the consultants he delivers. Hopefully next time I will say yes, On a final note he stands head and shoulders above all the other Michael Page consultants that I have dealt with.

TOTAL lack of professionalism!

A relative who is a qualified professional was contacted by an agent at Michael Page regarding a vacancy. To cut a long story short, there was no job at all at the end of a ridiculous seven stage interview process. Where other candidates walked out at stage 3 !!!
He had wasted time , money and effort attending different stages of hoop jumping and the carrot 🥕 dangling getting longer . Only to be told that the vacancy had been 'erased' .
What a waste of time. Totally unprofessional, they didn't even have the courtesy to apologise or explain themselves.

Rude, unprofessional and never again.

Just a horrible all round experience. I got told I'd been put forward for a job and was waiting to hear back for well over a month. Another member of staff (a director) called about another job and wanted to put me forward for that one too. I agreed but maintained I was more interested in the first.

I got two conflicting reports from the staff one saying they'd heard back and they didn't want to pursue my application, the original member of staff then contacted me over a week later and said "I've just this morning heard back from them and they're no longer looking for that role". I decided to contact the company I was reportedly put forward for and lo and behold - no, they'd never received an application with my name on from anyone.

I questioned what happened and my email was forwarded to the director who called me berating me telling me I was "going to let her down and what is going on?" and that she "had put her neck on the line to get me this job" she hadn't. Not in the slightest. I spoke to the company I ended up working with and they were so accommodating with all my requests and said this particular member of staff at MP liked to blow stuff out of proportion and that she hadn't had to "swing it" for me to get me in there.

For all correspondence I requested it in writing but this director would constantly call, from the very start of our communications, even if I'd said I can't speak as I was at the doctors, she'd call again, whatsapp me, text me, call again claiming it was urgent - she just needed my date of birth for their records. I also felt like she insisted on calling so she could be rude without it being on record, a sentiment shared by other temps I've spoken with who have had the unfortunate experience of being placed by her.

Constant payroll issues to add to the mix too, it was just a stressful first and last experience with them.

Terrible (valuable time wasted / time wasters)

Terrible. They advertise jobs, but never get back to you. On more than one occasion I have tracked down the MP contact (because they usually don't provide an email address) and sent follow-up emails directly - still no response. Shouldn't be allowed to get away with it, it can (and should) take a lot of effort to apply for a single job - time wasted / time wasters.

Scam recruiters - avoid

Scam recruiters. Received an email regarding a role from a ‘Director’ within Michael Page based in Edinburgh.

When I later found the JD on the MP website, it appeared it had been written with AI because it used ‘Americanised’ English, probably because the role doesn’t exist.

I asked for a copy of the JD and requested the name of the company for whom the person was recruiting. I was asked to send my CV and if it was a ‘match’ they would call me.

Moments later I received another reply asking a question to which the answer would have been obvious had the person bothered to read my CV. I replied and was then ghosted.

The tone of the email and lack of professional courtesy from a so called ‘Director’ is so staggeringly bad, it’s almost unbelievable. The candidate experience is off the scale bad. It is quite possible I was interacting with AI generated responses given the discourteous nature of the emails.

I have since made a request to Michael Page under GDPR Regs to have all of the data they hold on me removed from their systems. I’d encourage others to do the same.

Having checked TrustPilot, I can see why this so called recruiter has an average satisfaction score of just 1.8.

Avoid!

Scammers who ignore calls, call you a liar and dont pay on time.

My partner obtained a job through Michael Page.

However, she clearly stated the contract was a 6 month contract. When arriving at the job, the company informed him it was only 3 weeks. 2 other new staff members were also told the same thing as him.

He contacted her to ask why she told him it was a 6 month contract when it was actually 3 weeks. She left a rather aggressive voicemail calling him a liar, and stating he must be making stuff up as this wasnt what she said.

Then, she has been harrassing him to submit his timesheet for work to get paid. For the past 4 days hes been trying to ring her to get in contact with her to state there is no timesheet on his portal for him to submit. No answer.

We have bills to pay and outgoings due in 3 days, she stated he will not get paid this week due to failure to submit a timesheet that he hasnt received!

He is now out of pocket and unable to pay bills due on friday, getting us into debt due to Michael Pages incompetency.

Really impressed

Michael Page contacted me from seeing my CV on a job search page. They were really helpful. They were in constant contact throughout my recruiting process, were really supportive and informative about the company I was going for an interview with and what to expect.
I was changing jobs for the first time in 13 years and they could not have been more helpful.

These are the reason I do not normally use agencies, I think they’ve had their day.
I dealt with the St Albans branch a guy called Michael Lingear who is an absolute fraud! Seemed very friendly at first even asking about my family, making small talk however did nothing but lie. All they do is search for people on LinkedIn and email them to get interviews. Told me they had placed a particular candidate before, we offered the role and then once we retained references we had to withdraw our offer which I put to them in writing the next day and now sending me legal letters wanting me to pay their full fee. It appeared they had never even placed this candidate as she had told me this herself nor have they done referencing at all despite placing her in a high financial role. I was then inundated with phone calls and messages about other potential applicants for another job despite saying I was on maternity leave but constantly calling and email myself and my colleague. They are so unprofessional I can’t believe they are still trading. They are nothing but fraudsters and take advantage of small businesses like ours. And now I feel like I’m going to have nothing but a long legal battle with them costing us time and money.

Useless untrustworthy recruitment agency!

Like other job seekers here, I have been very unimpressed and frustrated with Michael Page. The London 'consultants' NEVER answer the advertised contact number. The ansaphone is also non committal, you could be leaving a message in space! They never call back either to reply to enquiries.

People take a lot of their precious time (!) updating CV's to align with roles so it feels so wasted. I agree with other claims that jobs are vague and the agency are simply misleading candidates.

No doubt Michael Page will reply here with their useless, standard, reach out to us blah blah response, which would result in another black hole entry.

Find another reputable recruitment agency, one that actually delivers!

Awful.

They are genuinely one of the worst agencies I've tried to work with. All agents are so unresponsive - particularly the London team. I'm a candidate with varied and lengthy experience and objectively, have been a great candidate for a number of positions they have had open. I haven't even received a call or email about anything I've applied for - and that includes roles that I match 100% of the criteria for. There are 1000's of people out there desperate to work. Michael Page is one of the barriers.

They have a number of fake job ads up to keep generating leads. Check their page now for positions and you'll come back in 6 months time and the same ads will be there. Disgraceful.

One the worst recruitment companies out there
One the worst recruitment companies out there avoid. My recruiter was Moeko Encabo all sweetness and light butter wouldn't melt at first.Then went to a few interviews heard back on only one the company itself was unprofessional the other two didn't hear back chased her up and that's where she continuously ghosted me surprise surprise . The same roles are still being advertised. The company and recruiters are a Joke! AVOID!

Do not trust this agency

Do not trust this agency.

They will send a job role that is local to you and then once you reply..

They will ghost you...the role is fake usually and they will say due to some reason the role has been pulled by the business.

It's a trap to get your details and usually to hit their KPI'S.

No common decency.

Avoid.
