Rob visited us at the appointed time and gave us a quote. He wasn't pushy and the quote provided was comparable, if not cheaper than the many, many multinationals we had gotten quotes from. The selling point for use was that he genuinely cared and took the time to go through various options and pointed out some potential pitfalls that none of the others had (shading from a chimney stack and an awkwardly placed vent pipe. Scaffolding was booked and erected on the day specified. The team were completely professional, polite and efficient throughout and even undertook additional unscheduled work while they were on the roof for us because they genuinely care about the job they do.
The price quoted was the price paid - no hidden extras and it was no problem to change hardware specification prior to ordering equipment (we asked for a bigger inverter for more wriggle room).
I very rarely give reviews or make recommendations because for me it's a personal recommendation and I'm highly critical.

I did a lot of research before going solar and got quotes from several companies. Rob at ME Solar stood out from the first conversation. He was genuinely patient throughout the whole process, answered every question I threw at him (and there were a lot), and ran multiple rounds of quotes as my requirements evolved. He never made me feel like I was being a nuisance, and he suggested ideas I hadn't considered that actually improved the final design.
The installation itself was excellent. The team were professional, tidy, and clearly knew what they were doing. The whole job was done to a really high standard and the system was commissioned and handed over with everything explained clearly.
What I appreciated most was that ME Solar actually listened. This wasn't a one-size-fits-all pitch; they took my specific situation and shaped a solution around it. Local company, great people, quality work. Couldn't ask for more.

I recently had ME Solar install a solar panel and battery system on my flat roof, and I honestly could not be happier with the whole experience.

From the very beginning, they were professional, knowledgeable, and easy to deal with. My installation was not the most straightforward due to the flat roof, structural considerations, battery setup, and export requirements, but ME Solar handled everything properly and clearly explained the options at each stage.

The installation team were excellent. They arrived when expected, worked efficiently, and treated the house with real care. Everything was left clean and tidy afterwards, and the quality of the workmanship looks very good. I was especially impressed by the attention to detail and the small finishing touches, which made the install feel properly considered rather than rushed.

The battery system and solar panels are now up and running, and I am already enjoying watching the system generate, store, and manage energy. ME Solar also helped with the paperwork side of things, including the MCS certificates and DNO/export process, which made the whole project much easier.

Overall, I would highly recommend ME Solar to anyone considering solar panels, battery storage, or a more complex installation, such as a flat-roof system. Great communication, excellent workmanship, and a very professional service from start to finish.

I approached this company after getting a few other quotes from national companies.

I eventually chose them because the actually listened to what I wanted and talked about the options available. Also I felt they were by far the most honest about projected payback times using sensible estimates for future electricity price increases etc. The other major factor was that there team included a roofer and I wanted some roofing work done before the panels made access harder and sharing the scaffolding costs.

I was very happy with the work in some horrible weather towards the end of Jan. Rob and team of Chris, Guy and Richard did a very neat job and I'd like to thank them all. Especially Chris for the additional unplanned extra roofing work in less than ideal conditions.

Fantastic service from start to finish from Rob & the team at M E Solar for a recent solar panel & battery installation at our home. Pre-engagement, Rob went to extensive effort to provide both a) a practical & grounded design and b) solid advice re solar irrespective of selecting them for the job. Revisions after engagement were prompt, site survey reassuringly thorough and the installation itself very professionally done & completed ahead of schedule. Support / handover after completion has also been faultless - team happy to go above & beyond. Can’t recommend enough!

I have a Sig Energy system installed at my house, but like many with the likes of an Ohme charger and an EV working through Octopus tariffs, I was struggling to make it all work without depleting my batteries all the time. I called Robert on the off chance he might be able to give me some advice on what approach I should take as there is a lot of conflicting information on the likes of Facebook chats etc. Robert's knowledge and helpful approach regardless of the fact I have not used his company for any of my install, was second to none and very much worthy of a special mention. He is a font of knowledge on all things solar and tariff related integration, and takes a very practical approach to problem solving. My sincere thanks to him for a considerable amount of his time to helping me. Highly recommend his services.

M E Solar supplied and fitted my Sigenergy system last November 2025. Robert was really helpful answering all my many questions before the install and fine tuning the design, particularly optimising the size and number of panels on my roof for maximum generation. I'm really pleased with the system and the thoroughly professional way it was installed, he has a great team working with him. I couldn't have asked for better.

Mine was an exemplary experience with Robert and the team from start to finish. I was particularly impressed with Chris, Rich and Guy who worked on my roof in terrible weather conditions to complete the job on time. Nothing was too much trouble, and an electrician friend of mine commented that he had never seen such a neat and well-positioned battery installation. I would have absolutely no reservations about recommending M E Solar for a PV panel installation with battery such as mine.

I can honestly say that the service provided by M E Solar was excellent in every respect.
Communication was great and after an initial visit the system issue was diagnosed and a detailed quote provided. The work was scheduled and carried out to an impressive standard in a timely manner. Robert also ensured my faulty FIT meter was replaced extra quickly in order to minimise my loss, which I was really grateful for.
The whole process couldn’t have worked better. Engineers were punctual and really professional and left everywhere immaculate when the work was completed. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this company.

Installation of solar and 8kwh battery storage. Cannot recommend Rob and the team highly enough. Rob worked through a number of initial designs until we landed on one which best suited our property. All elements of the process were smooth and we were kept informed along the way. The installation was handled with great care - from the fitting of the panels to the installation of the battery which was smartly located with very neat electrical wiring. The team were happy to go the extra mile with Rob (the roofer) replacing a few existing cracked tiles along the way and getting the job done in horrendously hot weather! Fully recommend ME Solar. 🤩

Robert did a brilliant job from start to finish. His initial home visit was incredibly thorough, where he detailed several options and helped me understand the best choice for my setup. He went over and above by providing additional research and guidance via email, ensuring I had all the information I needed.

As someone new to the world of EVs, I really appreciated his patience and willingness to explain everything simply and covering all the important factors I need to be aware of and consider.

The installation itself was done to a high standard, and he took the time afterward to walk me through how the charger worked. He even helped me integrate it with the app and made sure I was comfortable using it.

What sets Robert apart is his level of customer service—he's even offered further support should I need any help in the future. I couldn't recommend him more highly!

We selected ME Solar from our shortlist because we preferred a local independent to a national provider. They completed our energy survey promptly after which we were provided with a couple of options to consider.

This was to be a large financial commitment. ME Solar provided all the information we needed in an easy to understand format and at no point pressured us to commit unlike others that we had approached.

The installation was severely delayed (our fault) due to the renovation we had embarked upon. Not only were ME Solar patient and understanding of the delays, they suggested they should re-quote given that component prices had dropped in the 6 months since our original quote. We were astounded to find that we were presented with a significant *decrease* in the overall cost as a result - such honesty is rarely found.

The installation was carried out in two stages - solar panels first (using scaffolding we already had in place) followed by the battery & control units. Both installations were carried out with the utmost care and attention - keeping us fully informed at all stages.

The communication provided throughout the whole process has been first class.

We are now largely self-contained - using our own green energy with the added bonus of being able to export spare capacity to the national grid.

We are extremely happy with our investment and would recommend ME Solar to anyone without hesitation.

However this company deserves a shout out and mention of their great service, flexibility, understanding and knowledge. I had solar panel installation carried out by ME Solar and the job was exactly as I expected.
Rob and his team kept me updated throughout the work and went to all efforts to meet my requirements.
The cost of work is of course individual to each customer requirement but I was completely content with my final invoice. Keep it up guys !!

Robert, Alex and Rob the roofer have done a brilliant job installing our new solar panels and storage. From the very first approach to the final commissioning the service has been faultless. I also appreciated the provision of a detailed quote - and the fact that it was considerably lower and more detailed than the other company we approached. It was also a joy to deal with people who so obviously showed a passion and interest in their work, and who communicated well, patiently going in to as much technical detail as we wanted and aswering all of our questions. Now we just need to get some decent weather so that we start to get the full benefit of the new system!

I had a 5kW hybrid inverter installed with a 9.5kWh battery. The system was installed on the day promised and the work done was excellent, with the system working with no issues. Robert and Alex responded to all my queries and spend time to address any questions I raised. A great team and it was a pleasure to work with them.

We were really impressed with the service received from ME Solar.

We had PV solar and an all-in-one Givenergy battery & backup gateway installed at the beginning of December.

The only delay was with National Grid approval for the gateway, and given it's completely out of Rob's hands as it's a new system for NG, we weren't at all concerned.

Both Alex and Rob were extremely helpful in the run up to the install, answering all our questions and running through what the system, app and website would look like.

During the install itself, everyone involved was friendly, efficient and professional. Could not have asked for a better team.

The install occurred over 3 days with the scaffolding going up the day prior and taken down the following week.

For us, there was only minor disruption inside the house itself whilst carpet and floorboards were taken up to run cables.

The team (scaffolders, roofers, electricians and Rob) coordinated well together and we were very impressed with the speed of the install despite the extremely chilly & wet weather.

They may be a small company, but the level of service provided was excellent and we've already recommended them to friends and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

Let’s cut to the chase, I have no hesitation in recommending M E Solar. Robert, Alex and team have done an excellent job of installing Solar Panels with “skirt” alongside a GivEnergy AIO (all in One) battery (that contains an EPS solution… which by the way we never noticed when the power went off during commissioning testing). Indeed, I could probably go on for a couple of pages about the whole experience as it’s been very positive in so many ways. So let me simply summarize by saying that all in all, there’s been excellent advice, and customer service from start to finish. M E Solar may be a relatively small company, but they are honest with a deep understanding of the solar business and a desire to do an excellent job… what more can you ask for when trying to work out if spending you hard earned cash on solar is right for you.

Robert & Alex did a great job, from the first consultation through to installandcommissioning. Everything was done on time, no hassle, no having to chase. Very pleased with the results, already seeing a return, even without the SEG generating any money. I cannot recommend ME Solar highly enough.
