Purchased a corset from them and it turned out that it didn't fit. Returned the item per their policies but they continuously said that they never received it and refused to refund me. First they had said they could only refund me $99 in store credit out of the $160 I'd originally paid, for some reason. Then it changed to they couldn't refund me at all and pretended they never received my return after already trying to negotiate otherwise.
Customer service was extremely rude. I couldn't imagine ever being so rude to another human being, let alone someone who is trying to do business with you.
To this day they still owe me ~$160.

I honestly don’t understand the poor reviews! I have bought several corsets from this company, and everything about the process and quality has been amazing! Most recently, I sent them photographs of a custom corset and evening skirt that “CJ Craig” wore on West Wing, and which I had always lusted after. The set I received back was breathtaking!!! It looks just like the original photo, fits in a way that I could only have dreamed of, and makes me feel like a million bucks! I am a tailor myself, and the careful sewing, professional quality materials, beautiful hidden body molding details, and incredible fit makes this corset a TRUE work of textile art. This beautiful toile corset is so lovely, that It would have made Marie Antoinette proud to wear, and I fully intend to frame it if I ever get to the point where I cannot wear it anymore (hoping that never happens!). It is so easy these days to send out a bad review if things don’t go your way, but I encourage taking those for this company with a grain of salt. This is the 4th piece I have bought from Meschants in the last 12 or so years, and every one has come with the same incredible quality, artistry and customer service. I bought a corset for my sister and liked it so when the company contacted me to offer a second corset at a discount I jumped on it.
They did not post the second-order on Etsy so I could not leave a review. They did not provide a tracking number for the second order. When the order arrived months later it did not fit!!! even though they had custom measurements to the first order. We had to pay to mail it back. It was a couple of months back and for[4 mnths to end up with a corset that doesn't fit and isn't what they even offered] and when my sister FINALLY received the " replacement" not only does it not fit... it is not even the same corset! DO NOT USE THEM! THEY DO NOT TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!!

I absolutely LOVED these guys!!! They helped me decide on the appropriate corset, and their work was spot on!!! I am a size 22 with a 13.5 inch back neck to waist measurement. Basically a plus size petite. If you know anything about sewing, these are horrible measurements to work with for regular clothes, much less a corset.
Their corset fit me PERFECTLY!!!! They did an amazing job. It kept everything in (not an easy job with someone my size), and the corset is super heavy duty, yet beautiful and surprisingly kind of comfortable.
Make sure to have someone who knows something about sewing measure you, and for crying out loud, don’t try to measure yourself!!! You will NOT get the correct measurements. They can’t get you the perfect corset if you give them incorrect measurements.

Bought my wife a $100 gift certificate. They mailed it to us. Would never let us redeem it and refused to respond to any and all correspondence after that. Never got a chance to try their product.

It's a shame this company couldn't be more cooperative. Their pictures show really beautifully well made corsets, but if you want to buy one, you must be part of an exclusive club or something because they don't want to communicate with you! I'd rate them a zero if I could.

I've worn corsets for 28 years. I've had a lot of custom corsets made in that time. never have i ever had such a corrupt merchant. thank god i paid for it via cc, or i would have had no means to recover my money for the complete fuasco of a custom corset they sold me. not a single measurement, not one, matched what i gave them for the finished garment. customer service was completely non-communicative when i tried to contact them to resolve the issue. the really absurd bit on their part was that i was willing to pay for a second one and not worry about a refund on the first, i just wanted it to fit! but apparently they didn't care and didn't want to talk at all. after 2 months of trying to resolve it, i took it to my cc company and they reversed the charge and presumably went after the merchant themself. it's a shame too, it was beautiful, well constructed, and in all probability would have been an excellent corset.

I purchased a training corset from Meschantes and love it! The price was reasonable and the garment was very sturdy quality. I read the bad reviews and can only say that was not my experience with Meschantes. It is tre that they are often slow to answer email, and their order turnarond could not be called swift. Also, you must take great care to measure carefully. I would pull the measuring tape tight and err on the small side. As one new to corsetry, I was not aware of just how much the garment can compress you. I realize that I was lucky to grt the sizing as close as I did. I will probably order another in a few months when I have better awareness of the proper fit. But this one is fantastic for now and I am very curious to see the long term effect on my body shape.

I bought an overbust corset that was supposed to be for my wedding. I did a fair amount of research before choosing meschantes, which was much cheaper than other custom corset companies. I bought it through ebay rather than their store for cost efficiency. Because of my thorough research in choosing a company, I was in communication with them through email with questions and clearly stated my expectations and concerns. Instead of having me purchase it through ebay, they sent me a paypal bill, stripping me of the option to leave a comment or negative feedback. Upon receiving the corset, my nightmare had come true. The bust was much too small (MUCH!!!!) and the measurements of the corset were different than the custom measurements I had provided. I emailed with my concern of the bust, and even offered to pay for them to fix it. They asked me to send pictures, and NEVER responded, even after numerous attempts to contact them, and them agreeing from the photos that the bust had been constructed inadequately to size (I had provided them with my cup size, band measurement, and inch bust circumference). There is no phone number for them, and they just ignore your emails once they have received payment. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!

I decided to have a custom corset made for a RenFaire costume I was putting together. So I talked to the woman via email and she and I agreed upon me making 2 different payments. It was a rather high amount for each payment compared to how much I make. So I made the first payment and then waited.... and then emailed them again...and again... and again. But nothing. So what am i left with? an almost empty bank account and no corset or responses from the company. So they got paid without having to make anything.. do not trust these people so terrible.

I stumbled across Meschantes about 15 years ago when I started doing RenFaires and historical reenacting. I have purchased 7 or 8 corsets from them, and have only had ONE really minor complaint. The corsets I have received have been sturdy, well made, fit perfectly and are a wonderful price. My latest order (which I am feverishly awaiting!) will be triple boned - my waist training corset was quad boned. I have never had any problems with what I want - Sandra is always willing to work with me. I DO wish they'd go back to having real leather again, but I can do without a leather corset. For anyone who wants to fuss at me about the leather, think about this: faux leather, whether shoes, corset, other apparel or whatever, will crack and break LONG before real leather would. I don't know about you, but personally, I can't afford to keep buying new (anything} because it breaks or wears out BEFORE it is even properly broken in! And, faux leather doesn't custom form to the wearer. Leather conforms with wear, and is truly a long lasting material. All you have to do is take reasonable care of it!

Anyway, I've read the bad reviews of Meschantes, and can only say that this is NOT my experience with them - and I've been doing business with them for a very long time!

I ordered a training corset on eBay. I was initially pleased with it, but I found that after a few times of wearing it, I was suffering severe lower back pain. I contacted the seller politely and even brought up the suggestion of a custom corset to fix the issue but instead I was more or less insulted/blamed for the pain that I was experiencing. I'm going to have to see a chiropractor now, and I have an expensive corset on top of that which I can't use. I tried to file a claim with eBay/Paypal but injury isn't covered - stupidly I forgot to mention that there also was a defect, which is that the front part of the corset flops since the boning doesn't go up all the way. Sadly I'm sure I could have won my case if I had thought to mention this - apparently that counts for more than severe pain for over 3 weeks. Her attitude with me was just unacceptable and unprofessional, showed no sympathy to what I was going through.

Just search online - you'll find a bunch of horror story reviews with this place. It may seem cheap and it's certainly better quality than off the rack, but don't chance it like I did.

I had got a custom-made waist training corset for $139.00. It is comfortable as they say it is, but I should have ordered a corset 6 inches smaller than my waist. I didnt realize I was squishy but, I was able to close it completely so, I must be squishy. It is well made and I will still wear but, not as much as my smaller corsets.

As soon as they received my money they were not interested in talking to me anymore. They "lost" my email address so they couldn't return all of the emails i was sending. Like that makes sense... I opened a paypal claim and they demanded I close it before they would work on my corset, even though that would leave me vulnerable to them not sending me anything which is basically what happened. For $340 I got a petticoat when I had ordered a corset and skirt. Now I am stuck trying to find a new dress as my wedding date looms closer. Be wary. :(

The corsets are well shaped, they fit well, and are a good quality for the price. I have had good experiences with their customer service.
Some of their ready-made corsets have no opening in the front, which can make it very hard to take on and off, but this would be preferred if you will wear the corset under your clothes.
For me, I like that the bones are not very heavy, it feels nice and light to wear them while still giving you an hourglass shape. But if they were worn tightly over a long period the bones would poke out from the fabric sooner or later, they don't look very strong or stable. So if you want to be a serious tightlacer buy a more expensive corset :) These are wonderful as part of an evening dress.
