Wish I could give 0 stars. They tried to move me into an unsafe building which had homeless people urinating and feces in the corridor and stairs. Vulgar graffiti on the walls. And disguised it as a luxury apartment. When I enquired about the safety of the building they just said "You're not getting your money back". They don't care about you they just want to make fast money using the fear of loss method.

Was really interested in a property viewing, emailed 2x, rang 3x, no answer whatsoever. Filled out the questionnaire, no answer. When you try ring, you get passed to an AI agent who can’t help, so I ask for a human, upon that request, I get hung up on.

Unprofessional behaviour
Myself and my partner viewed a property of theirs. We were told we were the first to view, after confirming our interest and willingness to move forward they said they would pass our details along to the landlord. after WEEKS of trying to contact them we have recieved NOTHING except opened messages and hung up phone calls. Not only unprofessional but rude. Will not approach this company EVER again

Anti social tenants welcome at Martin an co.
Martin and Co are responsible for the nightmare tenants next door. I have called them 9 times to report anti social behaviour as I cannot sleep until around 2 -3 am. This has ruined my mental health and ability to function at work. They care not about duty and responsibility. I wouldn't use them in any shape of form. No standards.
Intrusive and Tone-Deaf Marketing
I’ve had unsolicited flyers from this estate agent put through our letterboxes, even though there’s a clear “no junk mail” notice for the building. What’s more, they’ve somehow got into the block and delivered them inside, ignoring that notice completely.
The content of the flyers is also pretty tone deaf. They’re aimed at landlords, encouraging them to sell up or find new tenants, but they’re being delivered to people currently renting in those properties. It’s not hard to see how that could make tenants feel uneasy.
Overall it just feels intrusive, badly targeted and quite inconsiderate.

I believe this real estate agency is employing quite unprofessional individuals.
I dealt with a real estate agent under the name “Alexandra”, to whom I submitted twice a slightly remodulates offer relevant to the same property.
In both offer versions, I clearly stated that I would have moved in, upon acceptance, with two well mannered cats.
She reverted after the second offer and the viewing had been booked, claiming that the landlord would be uncomfortable in moving forward, due to his / her severe allergy to cats.
Given the new regulations applicable to assured tenancies, refusal to accommodate pets must be grounded - the agent should have known that!
As there is no way the landlord would have had to share the property with his/her pet owner tenants?!, the reference to his/her allergies was completely irrelevant.
Restrictions grounded on pet allergies would only affect co-tenants.
Steam cleaning at the end of tenancy can in fact remove any whatsoever residue of hair eventually left behind by well mannered pets before the property (that would have come unfurnished) is vacated.
Not only I found this agent careless and quite ill mannered, but also clearly not prepared in respect to what should be her field of expertise.

What's the point having an out of hours…
What's the point having an out of hours phone number if you can't be bothered to answer it?
It defeats the purpose of having a number to phone you on in an emergency if you can't be bothered to answer the phone.
Still after 5 phone calls and still no answer.
Ignore tenant smears
I’ve worked with many Martin & CO’s and they’re really good despite the tenant venting seen on this site. Ignore tenants moaning. It’s fashionable to weaponise negative reviews against businesses these days. Rents increase, tenants leave properties dirty. Get over it.

I have dealt with Janet from Hinckley branch for my house sale. She has been absolutely amazing always contactable, poilte kind and helpful. She went out of her way to help us and settle my mind when issues occurred with the property sale, she also helped us to get the sale completed and contacted buyers solictors countless times when they where being really unhelpful. We are really grateful for all her work.

Would do 0, think evil corporation think Martin Co, doubling rent of every family oriented residence they can and doing over our society and economy in the process. They will share the news of your necessary departure with 0 care for your human struggle. They have acted and taken advantage before the legislation that stops them increasing rent by so much or even no fault eviction. Evil.

I went to a house viewing in Haslington and the agent was very poor he wasn’t friendly or welcoming and hardly spoke to my self, when my partner inquired about a property he was just getting ignored even though we were very interested in the property and the company still hasn’t got back to us about it.

I wouldn’t even give them 0 stars.” Complaints that they don’t care about tenants and only focus on money. Poor communication: People often say staff don’t reply to calls or emails for days or ignore follow-ups entirely. Maintenance ignored: Some tenants report issues like leaks or broken heating left unfixed for long periods. Horrible customer service once the tenancy started. Absolutely no idea what good customer service or proper property administration looks like.
Communication was awful — emails ignored, calls not returned, and constant chasing just to get basic things done. The admin side is completely disorganised, with mistakes, delays, and no accountability.
Any issues with the property were handled slowly (if at all), and staff showed little interest in helping once rent was being paid. Very unprofessional and stressful to deal with.
I would strongly advise anyone to avoid renting through Martin & Co. One of the worst letting agency experiences I’ve had.
Horrible Letting Agent
This letting agent in Coalville is absolutely horrible. Throughout my tenancy, they were always unresponsive, care less about the tenants, and even breached their own contract. They refused to return my deposit and showed zero professionalism. I strongly advise anyone to avoid renting through them.

We are renting a flat under their management, and for four months they have neglected to repair the roof, which leaks every time it rains.

Unprofessional and difficult to deal with.
Do not recommend the branch in Plymouth as they are not interested in dealing with issues from tenants or landlords.
The boiler broke down at Xmas and I had no hot water or heating til February.
Deposit was removed from the DPS and not returned to me for two months.
Do not use them.

Run as fast as you can in the opposite direction from this branch of Martin and co. I am a landlord of 20 years’ experience with great relationships with all my agents. This agency is BEYOND POOR.
