O Mapu Speakers
Napisane przez firmę
Mapu Speakers | The best speakers FOR the World!
The Mapu Speakers are the world's first active sound systems handmade of clay and other low-impact materials like wood, wool and cork. They fuse state of the art amplification developed in Denmark, with ancestral craft techniques.
More than an object, they are a manifesto that invites to rethink the current way of production, linking design and aesthetics as a tribute to the place where they come from.
We stand to demonstrate that with low-impact materials we can achieve a high quality product, but also build a bridge between technology and century old crafts and traditions, which are being left behind by mass production. In the consumer electronics industry there are hardly any initiatives in this direction, and we want to shift this reality. We believe that another kind of future is possible, where tradition and modernity can coexist harmoniously. We dream of a crafts revolution that defies and changes the impact of production on our environment, the use of toxic materials (i.e. plastic chipboard and others), and centralisation of manufacturing in countries where neither working conditions nor environmental awareness are of importance.
Our aim is to show that a more inclusive, conscious and decentralised future is possible. We want to spread our methodology to further regions with distinctive crafts traditions, offering local solutions to a global challenge. Ultimately, we aim to create a triple sustainable impact in the regions of production: environmental, cultural and social.
WE DON’T WANT TO COMPETE TO BE THE BEST SPEAKERS IN THE WORLD,
WE WANT TO COLLABORATE TO BECOME THE BEST SPEAKERS FOR THE WORLD!
