I own a Hudson 38, and in many ways, the watch is nearly perfect. The quality of the materials, the bracelet, the design, and the way it looks and feels on the wrist are all outstanding. I’ve put it through some pretty rough use, and it has performed exceptionally well.

If I were to make it truly perfect, I would probably increase the case size to 41 mm. At that size, I honestly think it would have no real rivals.

Great service and communication to manage a small problem. Ordering was very easy, price was reasonable, quality was high. HOWEVER, buying online personal items always has an element of risk. I find the MNL.02 a little too thick, the crown too small which makes it difficult to wind and change time, and the numbers could do with being larger. However, the other 4 Maen I have are perfect in every way for me.

Maen Manhattan 37 Ultra-Thin — First Impressions

I received my Maen Manhattan 37 Ultra-Thin with the salmon dial after months of research, comparing brands, watches, dimensions, and watching countless YouTube reviews. I ultimately chose the Manhattan 37, and the watch looked exactly like I had hoped.

The unboxing experience was great, and I especially liked the included carrying case. On the wrist, I immediately loved the proportions, integrated stainless-steel bracelet, and especially the hammered Tuscan-style salmon dial. It really comes alive in the sunlight and pairs perfectly with the gold accents I typically wear. The ultra-thin profile also makes it incredibly easy to wear under a cuff. My only small gripe is that I wish a bracelet adjustment tool was included.

Unfortunately, the excitement took a turn when I went to start the watch. It ran for a few seconds and stopped. After winding it again, the same thing happened. Looking through the exhibition caseback, I noticed part of the movement appeared to be loose and rotating when I moved the watch.

I contacted Maen, and their customer service has been extremely helpful. They offered to cover reasonable costs if I used a local watchmaker or I could send it back to them. Since this was my first Maen and I didn’t want to introduce a third party into the repair, I chose to send it back.

The watch is now with Maen, awaiting repair/replacement.

Despite the issue, I still absolutely love the watch—the look, feel, proportions, and dial are exactly what I wanted. It just slightly sours the experience of receiving a brand-new mechanical watch that didn’t work out of the box. I hope Maen considers adding a little more protection for international shipping if transit damage was the cause.

Once I get it back, I’m sure I’ll love wearing it. My only question is whether I’ll always glance down occasionally and wonder, “Is it still running?” 😄

And Maen, if you’re reading this… perhaps that black rubber strap would make a nice little goodwill gesture. 😉

Total scam of a company.

Received broken watch, have sent it back the same day even though they try to ask me to find local service on my own. Then I have been waiting for over 6 weeks with no information when the watch will be fixed, no response to requests of sending a replacement or no refund at all. They claim to be small company with limited workforce but at the same time they have release not one but two new watches in the time that has passed on top of having enough people to run ads and being very active on social media. Get your priorities straight and I am starting a cashback procedure with my credit card as this is clearly a freud.

Oh my GADA! I love my Spymaster 38 MCT. I've been at this hobby for over a decade and have two dozen watches I love--ranging from a vintage 5513 to a Straum Jan Mayen--and this Maen is my go-to GADA. Gorgeous, perfectly proportioned, comfortable as all get-out on bracelet, and best of all hand-wound! The customer service is on par with the watch, and I couldn't be happier with Maen.

I was very impressd by the watch upon its arrival. I watched a review by Peter Kotsa and the images of the watch made it a "must have." After a couple months with the watch I'm noticing the small imperfections: the pip doesn't line up with the 60 min marker, it's either on the "0" or the "6." The bezel is...STIFF; it hurts my fingers to turn so basically don't mess with it. It runs a little fast, but I can deal with that.

Would love a replacement with better alignment and bezel action.

I purchased the Maen Hudson 38 MK5 and it’s a great watch! It’s been running great, I like the size and get compliments on the watch. Also when I was in Stockholm I visited the boutique and it was a great experience seeing all the Maen watches. Highly recommend the watch and the brand!

My order was shipped in short time and i received it without any problem. la joux perret g100 movement feels so smooth, i can’t stop watching the rotor spin almost without any friction. great product. i preferred the no date version of manhattan 37 automatic. couldn’t be happier with the dimensions (my wrist circumference is 17.5 cm) and the build quality is quite high. people who aren’t into watches notice the bracelet from afar and compliments it’s look.

I'm inquiring information for a fit and purchase. Sent an email weeks ago. Never got a replying. Contacted them on FB days ago. Not replying.
Think I'll just remove it from the watch list, and buy something else. Cannot imagine having a problem and getting it fixed without a ton of sh*t communication.

Nach dem Kauf der ersten blauen Manhattan 37, damals noch mit dem Ronda R150, war ich so überzeugt, dass ich noch einer weitere Manhattan 37, diesmal mit silbernem Blatt, SW200 und Datum, kaufte.
Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist beeindruckend. Stahlarmband und Gehäuse sind in meinen Augen perfekt verarbeitet. Über Design lässt sich bekanntlich nicht streiten, doch finde ich auch das Design bei Maen sehr ansprechend. Mit Sicherheit kaufe ich noch eine Maen.
