Title: Be aware of the return policy before buying

I want to share my experience so other customers in the United States are aware of the return process before purchasing.

I bought an item for $54.95, but unfortunately it was much too small for me. The website advertises “Easy Returns” and says that orders can be returned within 30 days, so I expected a straightforward return process.

However, only after contacting customer service to return the item did I learn that they currently do not have a return center in the United States. To receive a full refund, I was told that I would have to ship the item back to their warehouse in China at my own expense.

This was very disappointing because this important information was not clear to me before I purchased. Had I known that I could be responsible for international return shipping to China, I would not have placed the order.

I repeatedly explained that I was completely willing to return the item if they provided a prepaid return label. They confirmed that they could not provide a US return option. After several emails and negotiations, they ultimately offered me a 50% refund without requiring the return.

I accepted the 50% refund because paying international shipping to return a $54.95 item simply did not make financial sense.

I am leaving this review because I believe US customers should know about this BEFORE purchasing. Please carefully consider the return situation before placing an order, especially if you are unsure about sizing.

I wish I’d read the reviews before purchasing four items from this company.

The photographs and marketing make the clothing look stylish and good quality, but what arrived was cheap polyester, poorly stitched, with loose threads hanging from several pieces. The quality is more like a fancy-dress costume designed to be worn once.

The trouser legs are also much shorter than shown in the photographs, and I’m not particularly tall. One pantsuit looked beautiful online, but the chiffon extends to the floor while the lining finishes about three inches higher, making it look unfinished and ridiculous.

None of the items reflect the quality suggested by the photographs or product descriptions. They are Temu at its worst, and I honestly can’t see myself wearing any of them.

I wish I'd read these reviews before buying from lucy-clara.com! I thought I was buying from the store in Charleston with a similar name. A popup ad while I was ordering tricked me into buying 2 of the same item.

The quality is terrible. The stiching reminded me of my efforts in a 7th grade home economics course. The fabric was cheap polyester and the size was too small.

You must return the item to China and when I checked rates it was almost as expensive as the item I was trying to return.

I feel scammed. Yes I should have been more careful but most US companies do not operate in such a shoddy manner.

BEWARE. This company ships from China. Delivery is long and delayed and returns are practically impossible. You need to really want their items because return shipping is very expensive. The fabric of the items I ordered was cheap looking and doesn't look like the pictures on their website. There's no warning that the company ships from China and returns will cost you upwards of $40 dollars. It feels like a scam.

This site is a total scam. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM HERE !!! They are mirroring an existing business called Lucy & Claire. They also seemed to have been Charleston Boutique at one time. They take your order and offer you all kinds of savings. The merchandise comes from Asia. It is inferior quality. They claim easy returns on their website. When you try to return it they offer you a 20% refund or $50 shipping fee and $100 custom fees. They will also offer you a discount on alternative pieces that you only pay shipping on. In short, there is no way to return the merchandise and you are stuck with it.

I ordered two tops from the company's website after I saw them advertised on Facebook. As other posters have indicated, the material was inferior and the sizing was off, and I decided to return them. After I contacted the company to arrange a return, I received a response that I could either keep the items and get a 20% credit, or return the items directly to their warehouse in China which was likely to cost $30-40 for shipping plus customs duties - for items that cost about $65. So I kept the items (and am waiting to see if the 20% credit appears on my credit card statement). This is so obviously a scam. Strangely enough, my husband fell for one of these deals a couple years ago - different company - and I mentioned at the time that he was being scammed. But I didn't pick up on it when it was me.

This company is a scam. They are playing off the name of a legitimate website known as Lucy-Claire.

I ordered two blouses. The checkout system was bizarre and kept lighting up to press a discount button. What became clear is I ordered three items and two were the same! I asked them to take one off. No response. When the blouses arrived they were made of super poor quality material and the sewing was not professional. When I emailed to return the items they wanted to give them to me if I ordered others. I said I was not interested. They said I would have to pay for shipping back to INDIA. I am going to have my attorney look into this site. I do not think they are legitimate. I highly suggest you stay away from them.

The pictures for the clothing are faked. The actual material is the cheapest printed polyester, awful stuff. I gave them to my daughter as paint shirts because no one's ever going to wear them. There's not even a fabric tag anywhere on the garments because they don't want people to know. I bought two shirts that are obviously NOT the material in the ads. Returns are a nightmare. NEVER BUY HERE, it is a scam.
