First tattoo
Back in Autumn 2023, I decided to get my first tattoo. I wanted something delicate, meaningful and fine-lined. Wanting to support local businesses, I googled 'fine line tattoo artists, Taunton' and Love for Ink popped up with wonderful reviews. I booked my appointment for a couple of weeks after the initial phone call but had to postpone due to being unwell, which wasn't a problem for Ioannis. When I arrived, I felt so welcomed and reassured. The environment was beautiful, clean, private and felt homely. With it being my first tattoo, I naturally felt a little apprehensive but Ioannis was quick to ease any nerves I had. He let me play around with the design he drew for me: a bunch of wildflowers. He advised me on a placement but I decided on somewhere a little different, and he happily accommodated without any qualms. The whole experience was painless, enjoyable and just felt easy. Instead of film like I thought would be placed on the fresh tattoo, he used a spray that was used especially for those with sensitive skin. I loved that I didn't have to worry about getting the area wet in the shower afterwards, etc. I was advised to apply a thin layer of moisturiser on the tattoo once-twice daily to avoid it becoming dry and aid the healing process.
A few days after, I contacted Ioannis as I was worried that the spray was peeling off - he replied instantly and let me send him photos, but he gave me plenty of reassurance that nothing was the matter and it was healing well. Fast forward to now, 5 months on, my tattoo still looks just as good as it did when it was first done. The fine lines are still as thin and delicate. I couldn't be happier and I would honestly recommend anyone wanting any kind of tattoo, to visit Ioannis at Love for Ink.
