Rude, Unhelpful Customer Service
I emailed this company to confirm a Subaru stereo part number was correct because it was listed under the part number I was looking for but the description said “ID unknown, Verify before buying.” I finally got a call from a lady named Christina and I swear it’s like she never even read the email. She was extremely rude, condescending, and talked over me. Acted like I had no idea about part numbers, how to confirm with my VIN, and what the word “OEM” meant. But then repeatedly asked me for the part number WHEN IT WAS IN THE EMAIL I SENT!! I ended up having to hang up on her. I was going to buy this head unit because I was glad to see they had a return policy / warranty in case there were any issues.
Looks like I dodged a bullet!

Op donderdag op de gebruikelijke manier nummerplaten laten bestellen door onze magazijnmedewerker.
Deze komen dan normaal dezelfde dag binnen.
Vrijdagmiddag zelf moeten bellen waar de nummerplaten bleven. ( 16.30 uur )
Deze waren ze vergeten te maken, maar zouden zaterdag ochtend gemaakt worden en uiterlijk 9.30 uur bezorgd worden.
Vandaag ( zaterdag ) om 10.00 uur maar eens gebeld waar de platen bleven.
Antwoord: het apparaat om de platen te maken is kapot. Klant zat al 2 uur bij ons in de showroom te wachten op de nummerplaten!
Géén oplossing geboden door LKQ, ook géén excuses !!
Toen zelf actie ondernomen om de platen in Nieuwegein te laten maken.
Kom je vervolgens daar aan en liggen ze nog niet klaar.
Nog eens een half uur vertraging.
Ze weten niet wat service is bij LKQ, zelf tot een oplossing komen is er niet bij!

I found an engine listed by LKQ on Car-Part for $1,106. When I called the number on the listing, it went directly to LKQ in Illinois, and I was directed to their website to purchase it. The exact same engine with the same part number was listed there for $1,223.50.
Since it was after hours and I wanted to secure the engine, I purchased it. The next day I contacted customer service expecting them to correct the difference since it was their own listing.
Customer service (Jo) first said the difference was due to shipping, which made no sense because I also paid $330 separately for shipping. Then she said it was tax, even though tax was also added on top of the $1,223.50 purchase price.
The final explanation was that they “don’t price match other companies.” The issue is this was not another company — it was LKQ’s own listing on Car-Part, their own phone number, and their own website.
Refusing to honor your own advertised price is disappointing and feels like a very misleading way to do business.

If I could rate them a zero or negative I would. This is the craziest experience I have ever seen, who ever runs this business or writes there "Terms" is an absolute idiot. Their supervisors don't call back, I ordered a REMAN engine, got it installed, following all procedures, and it was knocking on start up with a heavy misfire- We went through the warranty process which they will only pay a fraction of our labor rate when it was bad off the shelf. I get the terms of the warranty or $95/Hour, but the owner hasn't even taken the vehicle yet, and it is bad, that should be at 100% of the manufacture to cover. Now we have got the second engine in, and the P3400 code keeps coming back, and there is an issue internally with this engine, (The same as the first engine, but not knocking at least). If that isn't bad enough, they want me to wait until the first replacement engine gets back to them in Texas, to inspect, before they can send out a new engine. Like this is crazy to me and terrible customer service. All I get back is I can't do anything about it, that's in the terms of the warranty, and that I can't talk to a supervisor they don't do that! WHAT!! what is a supervisor for? I have been waiting 2.5 weeks for a call back from a supervisor and still haven't received one after multiple requests. like this company is beyond disorganized.
Ripoff
I went to get a steering knuckle for my civic(which used to include the bearing with it). I was trying to avoid buying a new bearing($40) and paying a shop($60) to press it in. I happened to find said knuckle already extracted and laying beside the junk car. When i get to the cashier she told me $114 because they price the knuckle and bearing seperately, and that id need to have it pressed out then bring the knuclke/spindle back for my $60 refund!!! So Im supposed to pay 2 $5 admission fees,$10 in gas for 2 round trips, and still get charged virtually the same price as a new one???? I got 2 words for LKQ. If you live in Houston area, go to U Pick and Pull and avoid LKQ like the plague.
Needed a tube from airbox to turbo
Needed a tube from airbox to turbo. Showed counter guy a pic and he noted airbox and all tubes/pipes. Arrived to pick up and it was just the airbox. Counter guy tells me that happens a lot. Doesn't offer to have them go get the right parts or let me show them what I need just offers a refund.

Purchased a rebuilt motor from LKQ 2.5 years ago, installed by my long standing mechanics shop with 5 stars. 6 months and 15,000km into install, was left stranded on the side of the hwy on a road trip. Paid my shop labor to open up engine, take video to show internal damage from faulty parts. Took 6 months to assess, work thru administration, ship replacement motor and reinstall. Had to pay additional out of pocket labor to install second motor to the already spent $ for diagnostics. 2nd motor 7,000km into install, hwy drive home left stranded again, engine limped into no go mode. Towed for a second time...groundhog day all over again. Pay for diagnostic, prove internal rebuilt issue, ship new motor, ship back first rebuild, pay additional labor for 3rd rebuild motor & reinstall. Asked for a breakdown of rebuild sheet with shop this time, LKQ would not provide proof of rebuild nor quality of rebuild. 3 rebuild motors, down 2 1/2 years & additional $3,500 out of pocket...what good is a 2 year unlimited km warranty when you are sold most likely a used not rebuilt motor???. STAY AWAY FROM LKQ REBUILD MOTORS AND ANY SHOP REPRESENTING THEM! You are better served knowing the rebuild shop, seeing the product and getting a rebuild spec sheet.

Beyond Incompetent – Two "Lost" Transmissions in Two Weeks
I am currently stuck in a nightmare caused by LKQ Mid-America’s total inability to manage a simple delivery. Through a warranty claim (IR-21746636), they were contracted to deliver a rebuilt transmission to an AAMCO in Boise.
The first unit was 'lost' in transit. The second unit was supposedly delivered yesterday, but the driver apparently 'couldn't locate' a massive, well-known AAMCO franchise on a main road and misdelivered it. Now, they've lost contact with their own driver.
This is a 2014 Silverado—not a rare vehicle. This incompetence has left me without a car for over two weeks, exhausted my rental car allowance, and forced me to involve the state Department of Insurance. If you are a shop or a consumer depending on LKQ for a timely repair, look elsewhere. Their logistics are a disaster, and their '3-year warranty' means nothing if you never actually receive the part
Voor aankopen bij LKQ betaal je 3 x de gangbare prijs
Bij aankoop van een set remblokken in de LKQ winkel berekent dit bedrijf voor het gelijkwaardige artikel 3 x de gemiddelde prijs van internetwinkels. Het is begrijpelijk dat prijzen in fysieke winkels hoger liggen dan internetwinkels, maar 3 x de prijs is gewoon exorbitant. Een paar mogelijke conclusies zijn: of LKQ wil liever geen particuliere klanten in de winkel, of LKQ heeft geen gevoel voor marktprijzen, of LKQ is te hebberig richting particulieren.
Mijn conclusie is, koop als particulier nooit in een LKQ winkel, je betaalt 2 x teveel.
Helaas kon ik niet anders omdat de auto binnen 2 uur voordat hij op de ferry ging gerepareerd moest worden.

Oh my God to come to this one who ordered me oil for my car and it didn’t turn up. I’ve come here again today to ask and he still hasn’t turned up. My oil cost £100 so for a loyal customer to return I would be absolutely furious if I was the owner of this company and the staff lost me £100 Customer every time they need an oil.

On 05/29/2025 My Pilot needed an engine according to my mechanic, The body shop tech next door knew the Rep at LKQ Lunenberg Mass, made a call, I paid $1900 CC over the phone, they delivered on 06/04/2025, and the core $120 will be going to my CC. Mounted the engine, found out it was cracked, called the place back they sent another one, they will credit me $100 for $1200 install, but instead they sent the check to the body shop and we were looking for the SS for weeks. the second engine was installed couple days later. drove away from the garrage, sluggish no power...and fumes comminmg from the exhaust. I had a work travel outside the country for the entire summer, I call the rep at LKQ prior tio let him know about the 2nd engine's issues, told me we will deal with it when you come back. Mid-September I am calling and calling leaving msg to the rep, finally I had to press zero, they told me that he was no longer with the company. the new rep didn't want to deal to my issue, was avoiding me when i call, he would let me hanging on the phone for a long time until I needed to hang up and call back again, they were rude, finally told me for warranty protocol I needed to take the car to a mechanic and call from there to process the claim, I had to wait the whole for this claim guy to call. his question was did you change the timing belt and the seals during the install? No Sir wouldn't that enter fair with the warranty? so I got denied because I was supposed to rebuild the new engine prior to installation, and my warranty expired also. so, I am about $3000 loss from Quality Parts at LKQ. Spoke with the manager "Brian" Nothing I can do for you sir only go find another shop and I will give you a small break on another engine, but this time you need to change the timing belt and the seals... Does anyone have any recommendations? Do I need to file a claim in court?
Do not care about the danger to employees
My husband works for this horrible company. I'm tired of them forcing him to deliver their junk that constantly has to be returned and having to do 3 routes when your only supposed to do one per driver. He's been injured several times and they do nothing to prevent these delivery drivers from lifting without equipment. Loading these trucks to way above weight limit. I dare something to happen to him on your job. Time for this crooked business to go down!!!
they have not stood by there reman engine even though I paid for no fault ins
I purchase a reman engine, a mechanic and I put it in May. Since then I still have not been able to drive my truck, it has no power. I purchase all new components for it, didn't want to run use parts into the new reman.
I had three mechanics look at it so far and none of them want to deal with the insurance company LKQ. They said its a waste of time. I have gone back and forth with them with no success, I was told if I purchase the no fault ins even if I forgot to add the oil and it froze up it would be cover.
Well, they haven't stood by that word the no fault was a waste of money. My third mechanic has said the lifter are way to tight on it that's why I haven't had any power in the truck, which is LKQ remanufacturing issue, the engine paid around 2200 I think and with all new parts looking at around 3500, plus what I have paid each mechanic, I have around 6000 into it and hopefully the different lifter springs work not guarantee.
I will not purchase another engine from them base on my experience that I have had, reaching out to them is like talking to a wall.If I were you thinking of purchasing something from them I would look around, I thought I did my homework.

I don't have any experience with LKQ's services, but unfortunately, I do have experience with the behavior of one of their drivers last Friday. On the A50, we were literally forced off the road by an LKQ driver (license plate VTV-89-R) who, for no reason, insisted we should make way for the left lane (A50). He first looked at us and, to our surprise, simply pushed us off the road. We immediately contacted LKQ and reported this, hoping they would confront this young, inexperienced driver about his life-threatening behavior.
