It works but honestly this has got to be one of the cheapest looking litter boxes you can buy.. its literally just a thin plastic shell so so easy to break

I’ve been a Litter-Robot user for about six years, and it’s something I rely on daily. I’m a full-time caregiver, and having dependable systems at home isn’t optional — it’s essential. When my Litter-Robot 4 began failing (missed cycles, constant “full” readings, and inconsistent detection), it created real stress in a situation that already demands a lot.
What made the difference was the people behind the product.
From the very beginning, Nicole approached my concerns with professionalism, empathy, and genuine care. Mateo then carried that same level of attention forward, ensuring nothing was missed and that I felt supported throughout the process. Der LR ist plötzlich offline oder die App schickt keine Benachrichtigungen mehr, wenn ich im Flugmodus war. So ist es gezwungenermaßen mein neues Hobby, ständig die App zu löschen und neu zu installieren - eine echte Zumutung.

Extremely expensive luxury price for a poor quality robot that barely works, and as time goes on it breaks down more and more. NOT WORTH THE PRICE AT ALL.

Overall, it works very well. I would recommend using the litter made by Whisker, otherwise it seems to stick to the bottom of the litter robot. It is nice not needing to scoop every day, but the bags need to be changed around once a week and the moisture in there creates mold sometimes. We just use baking soda at the base, and it seems to prevent this.

It is a great litter box for cats however we had to slowly train our 5 year old cat. Do not change the cat litter. If it is compatible then keep it with the model litter robot but if not then slowly change the litter not immediately because your cat, if picky, will not get used to it immediately. Other then that, the system works and my cat loves it after 1 month.

I recently ordered the Litter-Robot and couldn’t be happier with the entire experience from start to finish. The shipping was incredibly fast, it arrived sooner than expected. When I had quick setup questions their customer service team was super fast. Whisker has clearly built a brand and products that are second to none, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to cat owners looking for a smarter litter scooping solution!

I was suckered in by the "FSA eligible" marketing, which seems good at first glance: why not use pre-tax money that's already been withheld from your paycheck to pay for something that'll make your life easier?
They partner with a company called Sika to get a doctor to write you a "letter of medical necessity" so your FSA administrator will approve the purchase. Well, mine denied the purchase, even though Sika's "doctor" said it would help me avoid back pain.
I had to contact Whisker myself to arrange the return because their online form wanted me to pay $60 in shipping to return the unopened device. Then, two weeks after they received the returned item, I had to contact them again to process the refund to my FSA card. This meant I was unable to use my FSA card for a total of about 5 weeks.
I have no opinion about the product itself, but the company needs to back off this "FSA eligible" nonsense.

one of our cats simply WILL NOT use this machine. The amount of urine we now have all over the house is frustrating. The huge price we paid for this system would be worth it if the cats would use it.

I own 5 different automatic litter boxes, and a common theme is that the apps are never reliable. They fall off the Wifi quite often. The LR5 continues to have issues detecting nonexistent movement and telling me the drawer is full when it is empty. I have tried different troubleshooting suggestions from the site and fixed them temporarily, but they still continue to plague us. Excrement continues to stick to the rubbery bottom and needs to be cleaned quite often.

Julieth at Whisker customer support was fantastic! She sorted out my difficulty in a very short time and set up a quick shipment of a replacement part. These robot units are not cheap so it is important to keep up with an extended warranty so that your investment is protected. We have three robust 6 7 and 8 year old ex feral toughies who depend on the litter robot as much as we do.

Update - changing my rating:
I spoke with a customer service rep that was really helpful. She sent me a brand new one and I was going to return the old one. However, it seems like the litter box needed a burn in period because now it’s working perfectly. Whisker is scheduling a pick up so I can return the new one that is no longer needed. I value that the Whisker staff truly worked to address my concerns. I’m now a happy customer - thank you Whisker.

Received the unit a week ago and set it up today. I was very hopeful that this would be a seemless experience. Unfortunately no. The initial doesn’t work, straight out of the box. I’m curious to know what their Quality Control protocol is, if they are keeping track, and trying to improve? I followed the instructions to the T. I have all different flights showing. I tried troubleshooting using chat GPT which guided me through multiple sets. The instructions that come with the device didn’t address my issues. So now, I need to find time in my busy work day to call the company to troubleshoot. For the price of these units, their quality and performance should be stellar.
