Horrible!!!!! Customer Service is horrible. I am referencing the location in Maryland. I can see why the reviews are bad and the rating is so low. Waste of time. DO NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT!!!! Run elsewhere

When I called to make initial new patient appointment for both my husband and myself, I told them up front I needed a Dr, not a therapist. This was early in the year too, so I told them three times because of the deductible I had to make. They still set us up with a therapist and because we stayed for the appointment, and they had the Dr approve our meds, we were still charged. Ok, that's fine. Then I called to make a payment and found out we owed almost $1k. I asked to start a payment plan and make an initial payment of $100 on the total amount. They refused. Their portal doesn't always work either, so I could not get the payment assistance paperwork. They have to send it to me. One for each account. When we finally both got an appointment with the actual Dr, he was all about himself and was even screening us for "commitment" due to the fact that we both took medications that could be considered habit forming. I have never been treated so rudely in my LIFE. I will NEVER go back here nor will I send friends or family to this shit show. NOPE NOPE NOPE

My visit with Kimberly was excellent. She has a wonderful personality. She listened to my conversation with real concern and understanding. She showed much empathy towards me and demonstrated much interest in my thoughts and opinions. I am anxiously looking forward to my future experiences with her, for she seems genuinely concerned with my well being. I am very pleased in having her as my therapist. Thankyou: Joyce Pilch

Very disappointed with my experience. I booked through Zocdoc and received a confirmation clearly stating that my appointment was virtual. However, the office told me I had booked an in-person appointment and made me feel like the mistake was mine, even though I had proof from Zocdoc. please see the attached screenshot from Zocdoc.

What was even more upsetting was how the representatives handled the situation. As someone seeking psychiatric care, I expected patience, understanding, and compassion. Instead, the interaction increased my anxiety and made me feel judged.

When I spoke with the doctor, one of the first things she explained was that my appointment would have to be shortened because I was late. I did not appreciate this because the scheduling issue was not my fault. I felt like the situation was being treated more as an insurance/billing issue than a patient-care issue. One more thing, when she heard about ADHD and I’m on stimulants she assumed I want a prescription for it! This is very insulting. I have prescribed medications! All I want is someone to listen and adjust my meds as needed!!! I felt very judged! I was a patient in Mountainside NJ,with Dr. GABRIELA AVIM DE PAULA.

Please cancel my appointment. After this experience, I do not feel comfortable returning.

I booked an appointment for my daughter two days ago for an initial consultation. Our appointment was at 7 PM tonight.We logged in early as requested and it’s now 8:10 PM and no one has seen us. What a waste of time !!! We are first time patients and this is unprofessional. There’s been no communication as I sent messages. I know Therapists and Psychiatrists can run late but not over 75 minutes.

To top it off as I was about to disconnect I just received a bill for $150 and my co-pay is not that much and I have not seen anyone. I have to pay the bill immediately. They have my card on file so if they charge me, I will be filing complaints to the BBB and to my credit card company, which will require a police report. I should charge them a fee for no cancellation policy without a 48 hour notice for my time.

Update: The matter was resolved immediately. I gave them one more chance. I was able to book a doctor in my area and was seen today with no issues and liked the doctor. She was very good with my daughter.

Everything great. Whenever I have to call I get immediate and fast support. Friendly staff.

The therapist actually listens and helps by providing useful tools in am able to use each day. The Med Dr doesn't try to push medication ,listens to what you need to help. I love this place

I appreciate the attentive listening to mine and my family’s concerns. The inquisitive questioning about our feelings. And helpful suggestions as to how to improve relationships.

My therapist is a good listener and gives me very productive advise. We discuss the pros and cons regarding my situation. She even says its OK to cry and that I have a right to be emotional due to my circumstances. After our meeting I do feel better and am grateful to be able to discuss my feelings.

All went well. Therapist was very attentive and helpful. Easy access online and available times.

My time with LifeStance has been life changing. Exceptional qualified providers and staff.

Dr Suzanne King is a piece of work. I was there to see if I had ADHD and in less than 15 minutes she told me that my family was bipolar(she doesn’t know them, and they were never diagnosed as such) and therefore I MUST be bipolar… even though she actually knew very little about me and I’ve never had a manic episode, ever, and I’m 64 years old. She learned everything she needed to make a judgment about me from a 40 question questionnaire that could only be answered with multiple-choice answers ..No subtleties or nuance allowed. I asked her how she could diagnose all of us without knowing any of us and with almost no information and she said “that’s my job.” then she prescribed me an antipsychotic medication called risperidone but told me it was just so that I could sleep. I don’t trust that doctor and I told her so. It was THE craziest half-hour therapy session of my life. Be careful.

Lifestance has a solid reputation based solely in the quality of their practitioners. It is a second or third class company, that has sold my son's provate information without authorization and that has overcharged my insurance exhorbitants amounts of money that get passed to me due to my high-deductible structure. Beware of shady procatices, very poor customer service and questionable insurance practices.

That said, their practitioners are solid, with great backgrounds and immaculate performance. Too bad they are connected to Lifestance.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I was supposed to have an appointment with the nurse practitioner via zoom. I logged in and made the copay, which is required before it will log you into zoom. I waited and waited for her to show and eventually gave up on waiting. I later called to be refunded my $75 copay and was told the appointment was actually cancelled but no one told ME! She then said it could just carry over to my next appointment. A couple days later they charged me an additional $25 to total $100 for a late cancellation fee. When I called to get THAT refunded as well as the $75 the person told me that it wasn’t an option. She refused to let me speak to a supervisor or anyone else and was very rude. So this company stole my money and made no apologies for it. I thought at very least the nurse practitioner would refill my prescription but she refused to do that as well. Do yourself a favor and find someone else.
UPDATE: now they’re trying to bill me for another $100. Good luck getting that POS!

Kimberly Loken in The Woodlands, TX only after two sessions without listening to both of us at couple’s therapy suggested to separate our Family. My wife attempted to commit suicide two weeks after. My wife continues to see her (behind my back and my insurance paying for it) and my son and I are navigating through a nightmare. Run away from this one as fast as you can!

I have been with LifeStance for a few years now & have had a great experience. I initially worked with Dr. D'Oyen and recently started seeing Dr. Joseph as Dr. D'Oyen left LifeStance for another position in his psychiatry practice. I had my first appointment with Dr. Joseph last week and could not be more pleased. She is extremely professional and knowledgeable. Her expertise ranges from the treatment of anxiety, ADHD, and other mental illnesses. Dr. Joseph really listened to my concerns and provided much needed assistance and treatment. Not only do I feel like she heard me & understood my concerns allowing me to speak freely & honestly. I look forward to working with Dr. Joseph. I am grateful for her treatment, for LifeStance and plan on sticking with them for as long as they are around. I highly recommend Dr. Joseph and LifeStance to anyone who requires treatment and needs support with psychiatric issues. Thank you. Cheers!!
