The next day boiler replacement that never happened...
My old boiler stopped working on a Sunday in mid January. Having unsuccessfully tried to find a local firm who could replace it in a reasonable time frame given the snow and freezing temperatures at the time I investigated online options for 'next day' boiler replacements. On Wednesday I entered my details and their quoted price and timescale were enticing. However all turned out to be something of an illusion?
I was quite prepared to pay upfront but one of the options was to pay an initial £250 deposit and pay the balance upon completion. Unfortunately this option did not seem to work and I telephoned the number given to ask how to proceed. I got put through to someone who explained that recent changes to their website appeared to have a few issues and suggested I enter an alternative option to pay by instalments and when they contact me to confirm arrangements they could take payment of the required deposit. So I completed my order details and their system produced an immediate confirmation of my order for installation on Friday.
This 'confirmation' indicated that they would shortly be requesting various photographs of the existing installation and an email confirmation would be imminently forthcoming.
By Thursday morning no request for photos or confirmation of order had been received so I telephoned the company to ensure everything was in order. Unfortunately this time I was not able to speak to anyone and was only able to leave a voicemail outlining the above and leaving my number for someone to call me back.
By late Thursday afternoon I had heard nothing so sent an email to the company outlining all the above, again requesting someone to call or email me to confirm installation would be taking place the following day.
Needless to say I heard nothing and early Friday morning I again telephoned them to ask what time to expect their engineer / boiler replacement to commence. As per the previous day no one was available to take my call and again I was only able to leave a voicemail outlining the above.
I heard nothing more from them and by mid Friday morning I managed to place an order with an alternative national next day boiler replacement company who more than lived up to their promise and by Monday afternoon had installed a replacement boiler.
So be warned for me Smart Adapt was a total waste of time and their service and customer experience were sadly lacking. I had checked out their reviews here before placing my 'order'.
I am now off to place a 5* rating on the company who came to my rescue after being let down so badly by Smart Adapt at what was one of the coldest weeks of the year. It is probably inappropriate to name them in this review.
Update 8-Feb-24: They have requested further information from me. As noted above I was never sent any emails (eg confirmation which would have included the requested order number). As noted above if they refer to their voicemails for 17-Jan-24 and 18-Jan-24 and their emails of 17-Jan-24 they will be able to confirm my details / requests. I can provide a pdf and or an html of the online order 'confirmation' which I was able to capture.

Recently bought a property in Llanbradach and on move in day the boiler had a fault. One quick call to one of the technicians and everything was resolved. He even FaceTimed me so I could show him what I was doing! Can’t rate them more highly

Emergency boiler Install
Smart Adapt were brilliant from start to finish.
My boiler broke which left us in a difficult situation. Smart Adapt changed their schedule and were in our house the next day to replace the old one with a new one.
The engineers provided a 5 star service they were polite, clean and tidy.
All pipe work was neat and carried out to a very high standard.
Smart adapt even done additional work in the garage, they had to change the gas pipe to a bigger size to meet regulations and this was done free of charge as we had already agreed a price.
Thank you Smart Adapt for your service. I highly recommend this company.

Mo, and his boys were very professional, using top quaily materials, and finished our home Air Con install so that it looked really great. They took great care, down to taking shoes off and laying the cling film on the carpet. I am so glad we worked with Mo and his team. Highly recommend.

Mo came out quickly to provide a quote, much lower than any others I'd had. He was upfront and honest with costs and time scales. Mo & his team were out to fit the new boiler on a Saturday and I'm very happy with the new boiler and the work carried out. There was a small issue with the clear up but was handled quickly and professionally when raised. Would definitely recommend.

Emergency boiler breakdown
Our very old boiler broke down on a Saturday, and within a few hours of contacting them, Mo arrived and quickly identified the problem. After explaining a new boiler would required, which came as no surprise because of the age and visible condition of it, he suggested suitable locations we could put it since the original one was in an unsuitable location. His team came the following day, on a Sunday because we were without heating or any hot water, and started work with the job being completed the following day. The entire team was super friendly, hard working and professional. They patched the hole in the wall with plasterboard and even went out of their way to help me load a heavy box into my car as they saw me struggling with it! I would recommend these guys to anyone, they definitely earned my trust and I hugely appreciate them starting the job on a Sunday so I was only without hot water for a couple of days.

Great job done by Mo for my boiler service recently. He’s a friendly and honest guy who will make sure he’s gets the problem sorted for you there and then but if he can’t, he will be open and get what’s needed to then come back and sort out for you. Cheers for all your help, will definitely be taking up your service again!
