Great experience overall - quick and attentive replies to questions before ordering, then they set expectations once the order was placed and fulfilled them. The computer arrived well packed and protected, exactly as ordered, and setting up was smooth. I can't speak to the durability as it's been only two days but first impressions are great.

Ik had snel een nieuwe laptop nodig omdat ik een IT cursus ga doen. De laptop moest snel zijn en ik wou er Linux op hebben. Nova Custom is een van de weinige bedrijven die computers met Linux voorgeïnstalleerd kan leveren. Ze bieden je de keus om precies te bepalen welke onderdelen je wilt, wat ik zeer waardeer. Ze konden ook de disk versleutelen bij hun Linux installatie.

Volgens de officiële levertermijn zou de laptop te laat komen voor mijn cursus, dus ik heb ze gebeld of ze hem voor mij op tijd konden leveren. Dit kon. Toen er vertraging dreigde ten opzichte van mijn gewenste leverdatum, hebben ze contact opgenomen. Ze waren bereid om de order te veranderen zodat ze hem voor mij op tijd konden leveren, dus ruim voor de officiële levertermijn verstreek. Ik waardeer deze flexibiliteit zeer.

Ik kan NovaCustom van harte aanbevelen!

Heb een laptop met 32Gb RAM, Intel i7 en HiDpi scherm samengesteld, ben erg tevreden. Ik had de Linux Mint die erop zat (waar ik om vroeg) eraf gehaald omdat ik Niet de Cinnamon DE wilde, maar toen bleek dat mijn DE van voorkeur (XFCE) niet gebouwd is op zulke hoog DPI schermen. Vervolgens MATE erop gezet, waarna ik de hulp van NovaCustom nodig had omdat de wifisnelheid erg traag bleek. Het bleek dat ik nog de Kernel moest updaten en nog wat zaken, dat had NovaCustom direct door en ze stuurden me duidelijke instructies die het probleem verhielpen. Dus ben dik tevreden en zou ze van harte aanraden. Als je in een willekeurige computerwinkel een laptop met zulke specs wil kopen dan betaal je het dubbele

Ik ben zeer tevreden als klant van Nova Custom. Ben door hen uitstekend geholpen bij de keuze voor de onderdelen van de configuratie die mij voor ogen stond. Er bleek ook een keuze mogelijk voor een ander scherm dan de 2 aangeboden schermen en dat is toch een stukje extra service waar ik heel blij mee ben. Ik verwacht ook bij mogelijke nazorg goed geholpen te worden dus ik kan Nova Custum zeker aanbevelen.
Na het schrijven van dit bovenstaande stukje heb ik nog een aantal keren contact gehad met Nova Custom waarbij ik telkens accuraat en snel geholpen werd. Nog steeds een tevreden klant dus.

Fijn contact, goed en snel antwoord op de vragen. Laptop is inmiddels geleverd, ben er erg blij mee. In vergelijking met andere websites vond ik dat je echt waar voor je geld krijgt bij NovaCustom/SnaakSystems/Laptopsamenstellen.nl.

Duidelijke site. Overzichtelijk wat de mogelijkheden zijn. Door mail goed op de hoogte gehouden. Snelle levering zaterdag besteld en vrijdag in huis.
Wel heeft UPS de laptop bij de buren bezorgd en er hoefde niet voor getekend te worden. Bij dit soort prijzige artikelen zou het beter zijn deze alleen te bezorgen bij de besteller en deze laten tekenen voor ontvangst.

Toen ik een laptop wilde kopen, heeft Wessel mij van uitstekend advies voorzien. Een jaar later werkt de laptop nog steeds als vanouds.
Onlangs had ik het beeldscherm echter kapot gemaakt doordat ik er niet voorzichtig mee deed. Gelukkig kon ik mijn laptop meteen opsturen ter reparatie, en binnen no time had ik 'm weer terug, en dat tegen een prima prijs.

Dit is voor mij de ideale webshop. Zelf een keuze kunnen maken t.a.v. wat er in je laptop gaat zonder vast te zitten aan een Windows-licentie!

NovaCustom geeft gedurende het hele proces goede en persoonlijke service. Van tevoren heb ik telefonisch duidelijke en eerlijke informatie gekregen over de onderdelen waaruit ik kon kiezen. Dit heeft mij zeker geholpen in mijn keuze.

Het bestellen via de website is overzichtelijk en verliep vlot. Wat betreft de levering: de levertijd van een kleine week is zeer prettig. Ook arriveert de laptop in een stevige verpakking.

Bij het uitpakken bleek er sprake van een klein technisch probleem. Gelukkig kon ik dit meteen bespreken in de avond en werd er ook direct een oplossing geboden. Dit is verder geheel professioneel afgehandeld, waardoor ik nu als een tevreden klant met een mooie laptop thuis zit.

Ik kan NovaCustom daarom ook van harte aanbevelen voor mensen die net zoals ik op zoek zijn naar een niet-Windows/Apple-machine met keuzemogelijkheden. Ik weet in ieder geval zeker waar ik mijn volgende laptop zal gaan halen!

Erg snelle levering. Goede website. Prima levering. Communicatie is ook up-to-date. Kortom; een aanrader om daar je laptop te kopen die past bij jouw wensen !!

Mooie laptop, batterijduur valt iets tegen op Ubuntu. Op lagere resolutie is de frequentie heel hoog waardoor het beeld heerlijk rustig is. Programma's starten supersnel op, waardoor ik nooit meer hoef te wachten, heerlijk. Goede service!

Zeer goede en snelle service, dat samen met aantrekkelijke prijzen! Enige verbetering die ik kan opmerken is het volgende
Als er geen CD drive in een laptop zit graag drivers mee leveren op USB stick!

Superservice, superlaptop.

Let me begin by saying that the perfect laptop probably doesn’t exist: every manufacturer makes mistakes. Some of the disadvantages of the computer I ordered (the N850EK1) are simply to be expected given the size, performance envelope, and price—as well as the fact that it’s a Linux laptop specifically. Some of the problems, however, could definitely be rectified, which is why I’m rating it 4 stars.

To be clear, here are the specs of the machine I ordered:
- Intel I5 8th gen, 45W.
- Nvidia GTX 1050 4GB.
- 16GB DDR4 RAM.
- Samsung 250GB PCIe SSD.
- 4K LG-Philips screen.
- Fancy backlighting for the keyboard.
- Price as configured: €1185

It’s no surprise—based on the specs—that the laptop is fast. Laptop hardware has come a long, long way since I had my first laptop 10 years ago. The graphics card will play demanding games just fine at 1080p, and even older titles at 1440p and 2160p. The SSD is fast; there’s a lot of RAM. Cooling isn’t an issue as far as temperatures, although the fans could be quieter. This machine will definitely handle editing 24MPix RAW photos for when I’m travelling and away from my desktop.

But hey, this is true for all laptops you can buy today—specs no longer matter as much as they did. What makes this laptop better than the competition?

The good:
- The machine is very repairable. No soldered SSDs or RAM slots here!
- The screen is good. Not the best, mind you, but excellent given the price point. It’s sharp; sufficiently bright; it controls reflections well; and it has good colours (93% sRGB coverage). However, contrast could be better, though this isn’t immediately obvious because of the screen’s good performance overall (I only notice it next to my superior 4K monitor). Remember: many laptops still come with crappy TN panels or substandard IPS ones. Gaming laptops at this price point have IPS as standard, but they’re rarely high DPI, and rarely cover more than 90% of sRGB.
- All hardware is supported by Linux, even function keys, backlighting and the touchpad. Oh, and High DPI scaling is pretty good with Cinnamon.
- Customer support is fast and helpful.

The bad:
- The screen assembly doesn’t rotate far enough, and it wobbles.
- Very plasticky build; I would have expected some aluminium at this price.
- Crummy battery life, but that’s to be expected.
- Although the hardware is fully supported, drivers were NOT perfect out of the box. I had to install the nvidia proprietary driver, vaapi for video decoding on Intel, and a missing OpenCL package; this should not happen on a laptop pre-installed with Linux.

The okay:
- They keyboard is good but not great. It’s better than the Apple keyboards—I bought this machine to replace my ageing MacBook Pro, and tested the crappy butterfly keyboards on the new MacBooks, so I know what I’m talking about—since it has decent travel, big arrow keys, and all those keys like hash, backslash and end which are missing on Apple laptops. Nonetheless, the overall tactile feedback doesn’t stand up to a Model M or an old Thinkpad. Bear in mind, however, that I’m a fantasy novelist—I’m very picky about these things!
- The touchpad is not as good as my old Mac. Natural scrolling and tap-to-click works, but it’s not as smooth or precise.

Overall, I’m expecting this machine to last a long time. The hardware is good for the most part, and support is prompt and useful. If you’re in the market for a Linux laptop, Snaak Systems is a viable choice. If you’re outside the Netherlands, though, I would still go with a dedicated Linux company like Entroware or System76. I would still buy from this company again, though, especially if they fix the outstanding Linux issues out of the box.
