Great selection of niche fragrances

I believe I have just purchased the last available bottle of Lost in Vanillatopia in the United States. La Parfumerie had in its inventory something no one else does. The collection and curated selection is second to none. It shipped quickly, was well packaged, included samples, and was competitively priced.

Very happy with the whole experience of…

Very happy with the whole experience of ordering from La parfumerie USA. The packaging was done well. Also the product I got which is Cuir Elite from Christian Provenzano. If you love sandalwood, this is the one to get. It’s a bit expensive but the bottle and the case it comes in are high quality but most of all that gorgeous scent that lasts all day, it is worth the price. It’s on back order at other stores which is why I found this store in the first place . LA parfumerie USA has it. Btw I did not have to wait long to receive my product. And I was surprised to get three samples of different perfumes. I’ve ordered from other places that did not send samples. I will surely continue ordering from La parfumerie USA for now on.

Order efficiency was excellent but not the quality of product

Order efficiency was excellent. It only took 4 days to receive the product. However there was a significant discrepancy between the image of the product on line and what I received in terms of color of the perfume. The scent was different from the previous order as well. The label on the bottle was crooked which was surprising for a $150 perfume.

First time ordering from this company. Great price for a very hard to obtain fragrance that is on back order everywhere else. Shipping was fast too. This was a great experience, I will definitely purchase from La Parfumerie USA again!

I pride myself on not smelling like…

I pride myself on not smelling like every other man. I love unusual and exotic scents; the stuff that makes a woman passing by stop in her steps and turn her head to try and catch my scent again.
At the suggestion of a friend in Spain, I was on a quest to find Xerjoff- Alexandria II. It's it a little expensive for a full bottle and I only wanted enough to try it. (5 stars, by the way. Very sensuous, dark and mysterious.)
It was through this search that I found La Parfumerie. This store is INCREDIBLE!!! They have some really exotic scents, and some that I can't find anywhere else.
If you REALLY care about your cologne, then you REALLY need to check them out.

A Team That Cares

A product I had previously purchased for my son was selling out, Joel reached out to let me know and the timing was perfect for an upcoming birthday gift. Through our conversation, I not only purchased that product but added another, and got samples of a product I wanted to explore for myself. I deeply appreciate the customer service and sense of community provided by every staff member at La Parfumerie.

Poor Service- Defective Products- Shop Elsewhere To Avoid a Headache

I strongly advise any niche perfume lover to stay away from here.

What happened?

I'm based in Durham for school. Their storefront is around 46 minutes away from me one way, and a trip there is easily an hour and a half.

I purchased two perfumes from them (totaling ~$444), upon arriving back to my apartment I saw that one was leaking/broken so I went back to exchange it. They refused to exchange it on the spot, and the staff member explained that his manager needed to file a claim with their insurance/retailer who would then 'approve' an exchange for me, and that this could take a few days.

This raised red flags for me.

I refused to go back to the store to pick up the replacement since it was no longer worth the drive for me.

The next day, both the owner and manager began to call me and text me during class to try and 'fix' this, saying that they would provide me with free samples due to the inconvenience.

I refused, and told them to check the complaint I had sent. Apparently, the email they have on their website under 'contact us' is unmonitored, since the manager texted me asking for me to forward it to the owner.
The owner replied saying that she would personally deliver the perfume to me since this is not the level of service she 'aims for'. A few minutes before this the same owner had left me a voicemail saying that she wanted to call to understand the situation since it seemed 'escalated for no reason'....

I refused to give her my address. It added to the already uncomfortable feeling I had with all of this, and having a stranger come to my campus or apartment to give me a perfume that should have been exchanged when I went there was so weird.

To top it off, to receive the refund for the perfume that was broken (and the same one that I left the store without an exchange because it was against 'policy') I had to call the owner, and give her my credit card information over the phone. She was incredibly rude the entire time.

I questioned the authenticity of their products after this, and went directly to the brand and realized that they were not on their authorized retailer list. I made my concerns aware to both the manager and owner, to which the owner stopped replying to my emails and the manager replied for her instead.

They claimed that the products were authentic, and even though they were not on the authorized retailer lists on the websites for the products they sold that they would be soon.

If the products were authentic, what was this whole 'insurance claim' nonsense to begin with? If I had received a faulty item from Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf's, etc, they would have exchanged it on the spot. I asked about that, but they claimed that their products are authentic, and that the broken perfume was due to a manufacturing error and not due to the way they store perfumes.

Needless to say I don't believe them. Luxury goods require luxury service. It seems that they are not aware of this, and are happily overcharging people who are unaware of the type of service they are supposed to receive when purchasing such products. I'm paying for peace of mind knowing that I purchased a good quality product, and I did not receive that here.

The only reason I went there was because a classmate recommended them to me. When I went there to purchase my perfume, I also brought along another classmate (who also purchased something). After this ordeal, we are all planning to avoid this store, and I recommend the same for anyone reading this. Save yourself the trouble, and purchase from a reputable niche perfume store instead.

As much as I love supporting small businesses, this one is questionable. Even if they are selling authentic items, I believe they are old stock and that is likely why one of the perfumes was so damaged.

It is not standard practice to have to give someone your credit card information over the phone for a refund, nor is it the industry standard (for an exchange on a defective item) for the store to receive 'permission' from the brand to exchange an item. I strongly advise anyone to do their due diligence and choose to shop elsewhere.
