DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! AVOID AVOID AVOID.
They are pretending to be a UK company but they are not - they are in China.
Lights have no CE or CA marking, so not sure how they can sell them in the UK.
I purchased a light fitting from them that took over almost a month to arrive. Requested refund and return and was told to PAY FOR RETURN MYSELF!
Disgraceful scammers. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

Customer service very poor

Customer service very poor , struggle to get a reply to get a refund on items that take too long to deliver. Tracking numbers don’t work , and apparently have changed carrier which has made delays , no phone number either , reviews on site seem okay , but here are bad , I would pay a bit more and go elsewhere , as can’t even contact them to refund me or update me

Avoid.

Worst ever online purchase experience.

The company name and web presence is misleading. You are not buying from a UK manufacturer. Delivery, unsurprising given it comes from China, to weeks not days. The product was dire, really cheap in look and touch and has none of the quality and safety kitemarks standard in the UK. I have never bought such a dreadful product online!! Customer service is responsive is the best I can say, yet wanted me to accept a goodwill gesture of a 20% refund and keep the lamp rather than full fund and return. The return address when eventually supplied appeared to be a private address and individual and they expect the customer to foot a tracked postage bill. I will be more careful to check where I am actually getting my product from in the future.

total waste of money, don't bother

Delivery took 5 weeks even after repeated emails about the lateness. The ceiling light used flimsy materials of very poor quality, wiring was broken, came in many parts with no clear instructions or tools and, to return it, it has to be posted to China with a tracking number and I am very sure I will never see my money back. £250 totally wasted. I don't know how this company can legally trade in the UK and I can only guess where their reviews come from.

They should not be allowed to trade or sell. They are fraudsters. Cannot get through to anyone, do idea what has happened to my order nothing from them, will report them to the police as they are obviously thieves and should be prosecuted.

Really positive!

I ordered 2 lighting units which were…

I ordered 2 lighting units which were duly acknowledge and said getting order ready. Sent tracking number purporting to be Royal Mail. Checking with RM they had no knowledge of tracking . Contacted company only then to be told goods being shipped from China (company does not declare being China based but by name indicates being UK company). New tracking number for each light issued and told being delivered by Evri. Tracking totally useless only stating goods held at Evri Gateway. Attempting to track Evri is useless . Only contact with Lamps Modern is by email which they do not respond to. Demanding full refund under Consumers Right Act 2015 but being China based very much doubt it will happen. Will also be reporting to trading standards who should have power to close down in UK. Absolutely an appalling company, no contact , feel as though I have been scammed.

Lamps arrived today , totally stressed , standard not as high spec as expected, cant be bothered to return them given the reviews on here. Mid 70 year old going have a beer . Never again

Reluctantly giving even one star for…

Reluctantly giving even one star for this terrible company.
I purchased four fittings and even after minimal use over the winter and within 6 months each one failed in time.
I got in contact after the first one was faulty upon fitting and they happily sent out a new replacement. Not long after I had two more become faulty and again they sent out two replacements not long after again they have become faulty again and I now have had 7 faulty fittings.
I asked for a full refund as I wasn’t happy continuing to replace them over and over again. They couldn’t process a full refund on my original details for some reason and pushed me towards using PayPal. I informed them that I would incur a charge on that so I wouldn’t receive my full refund and they still continued without making up the money to equal my purchase price. When I brought up the incorrect refund amount they said it was on me due to how they paid back and I agreed to it when I didn’t and then they think that they have been amicable by not charge me anything when it’s their products that are faulty and not up to standard so why would I ever need to pay anything when they should just replace them or refund them.
This company will make out that they are helping when they truly aren’t and I see they try and reply to all these reviews but don’t help anybody. Their products are from China and any email conversation has a two day reply. Products are substandard stay well clear

Misleading if not down right…

Misleading if not down right untruthful. No indication from when you order your goods that delivery will be many weeks at the earliest. Had I known anything about this company I would not of ordered anything from them. I could of used a Chinese online company and got the goods cheaper and quicker. Pathetic inadequate service from this company do not waste your resources. Update 19/03/26 was told that tracking information would be available two days ago. Surprise surprise its not the weasel words of apologies and that they do not what to be like this is completely meaningless and tells me nothing of where my goods are and when can I expect delivery. This is not a one of occasion it's a clear pattern of how this company operates evidenced by others reviews.

Disappointing Service and Missing Items

I ordered 5 light fittings at a total cost of £419.00 including £55 discount on 11th of February 2026 and received an order confirmation on the same day. I did not receive any notification of dispatch and I emailed Lampsmodern on 17th and 24th of February requesting an update on my order but did not receive any response. On 10th March 2 of the light fittings arrived. The 3 fittings that didn't arrive cost £219.97 which I am out of pocket. It's obvious from the packaging that this is a Chinese based company and I am very disappointed with the service

Very unprofessional and unhelpful…

Very unprofessional and unhelpful company they do not send you your product in time at all, only a month later and tell you it is out of their control.
They sell stuff that I found on Amazon for half the price !!!

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS PLEASE

AND they do NOT give you a refund, their customer service keeps sending you the same AI emails, but offer no helpful response.

Misleading website

We ordered 4 pendant lights from this website, this is our first time. I should have checked the reviews, but unfortunately did not. My order took exactly 6 weeks to be delivered after a good few emails chasing them as I got no correspondence. They do mention that that they will email to say when your order is shipped, but I never got this email. Transpires the order is coming all the way from China, nowhere on the website does it mention delivery times, but when I emailed, they did say it would be 5-7 days from order confirmation then another 10-14 days delivery. Despite this, my order took 6 weeks and the order was split up which they couldn't be bothered to say. When I got 'part' of my order, I was left wondering what happened to the rest of my order. The rest did arrive a few days later. Anyway, since my pendants lights arrived 4 weeks later than when I needed them, I requested a refund, as I did not have any use for these lights anymore. I was told that if I wanted a refund, I will have to send the items back at my expense. Let me reiterate: 'YOU ARE EXPECTED TO SEND THE ITEMS BACK TO CHINA AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE', once they receive the items then they will issue you a refund. They will however offer you a 10% refund to keep them, when I was persistent for a refund, I was then offered a 20% refund. The quality of the products are not reflecting the premium price tag, quality is on par as Dunelm. Don't be fooled by the pictures on the website. For the quality you are paying, its all very overpriced especially for the service you will also receive. I would avoid buying anything from this website to save you hassle and being out of potential pocket should you require a refund. God knows what happens when something is faulty????

I had a very disappointing experience with Lampsmodern UK.

After placing an order (£104.40), I received confirmation that the item had been dispatched on 11 February along with a tracking number. However, the item was never delivered. Tracking updates were unclear and I had to repeatedly contact customer support to understand what was happening.

Each response simply mentioned delays due to customs checks or high order volumes, with promises that the package would arrive “within a few days.” Weeks passed with no delivery.

It also became apparent that the product was being shipped from China, which was not clearly communicated when ordering from what appears to be a UK retailer.

After multiple attempts to resolve the issue, I had to formally demand a refund and warn that I would initiate a chargeback and legal recovery if the payment was not returned.

This experience involved unnecessary delays, poor transparency, and a lot of time wasted chasing updates. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to be cautious when ordering from this company.

Rubbish to say the least

Rubbish to say the least. ordered a celling light. Did not know it was comming from china. Thought it was a UK company, 4 weeks later still no delivery. There tracking is a lie. We are calming back the money via the bank and will be getting a refund.
