Don’t not purchase 10year battery smokes they are defective and kidde knows it but they won’t take any accountability for their faulty product. Leaving electricians with the bill for call backs on Kidde Faulty products. Wont ever install another kidde product again. They lying saying they have no known issue with products

I bought a 10-year carbon monoxide, smoke, and fire detector through Amazon. It lasted about 10 or so months until I started getting false alarms, always between 12 AM and 5 AM. Went back and forth with the Kidde representative for a week, doing everything they suggested and letting them know exactly how far it is from vents and fans. They finally acknowledged it was defective and sent me a new one. Here it is, 5 weeks later, and at 4 AM, this one is going off, saying fire. fire, fire.

Worst system ever. New home, smoke/carbon combo alarms dated Sept 2021. Nothing wrong with alarms when I changed batteries. Put in recommended Duracell MX1500 batteries. Started chirping low battery 12 hours later. Turned off at circuit, unplugged, held button for over 30 sec, used air cleaner, checked battery connections. NOTHING works, tried 6 times and still get “low battery” message. Will never buy Kidde garbage again.

This company is seriously mediocre at best. I had a smoke alarm kn-cosm-iba and need to replace it since it is discontinued. I called customer service and asked if there was another model that would fit the bracket and easy for an older woman to replace. They gave me model 30cuar but said I need an adapter. Ok fine. But the instructions on installing the adapter are almost non existent and you DO have to replace the bracket. And when you install the adapter on the backk of the unit, you can not get into the battery compartment!

i would rather be burnt to a sizzle than have one of these alarms in my house again. constant false alarms & fault alarms. i came home recently to yet another fault alarm going off & i guess my cats were hiding under the bed all day :( scared, alone, without their human to blow the stupid thing out with compressed air so it stops beeping for 24 hours, and then starts up again. i have disabled all of them at this point & if i die from fire or CO poisoning i want it on record that KIDDE is responsible.

The combination alarm we bought stopped working 1.5yrs from manufacture. Try to get help on their website and expect a chatbot that does not understand you or try to. If you need help on the weekend, expect that you will be redirected to a nonfunctional URL or try to send in a comment using their Contact Us feature and it won't let you submit.

Don't bother getting their products if you have high ceilings. They have made the buttons so small that if you can't read the button standing on a chair, you aren't going to be able to turn them off. The button is impossible to hit with a pole because it has gotten so small. I'm taking these down and putting in some Chinese crap one that I got off Amazon and don't trust at all, but at least the button is big enough to hit with a pole.

The worst fire alarm I ever had and I owned 8 houses and rented 3. Designed to wear out batteries. I got some FIrst Alert BRK alarms and BRK adapters to the Kidde/Firex plugs from The Electronic Bargain store. Cheaper than Amazon, even with shipping.

2 Kidde smoke alarms gave persistent, unprovoked false alarms. Less than 2 years old. "Worthless." Probably useful as a paperweight. I recommend switching brands.

Carbon monoxide alarm faults - don't reply on this company to keep your family safe. Won't honour the 10 year guarantee - don't trust these clowns

2am and im awake again dealing with a fault alarm on another brand new smoke/CO alarm. ive had this happen 4 times already and i just replaced them all this year. absolutely horrible product idk how they get away with this

This company should go out of business for the greater good. SERIOUSLY. They have a tremendous misfiring issue that has left my whole family with PTSD. Not only at home but now also at a vacation rental with the misfortune of having installed these brand. DO NOT BUY. @KIDDE, stop torturing people and stop production and sales.

After a little over 2 years all 4 alarms stopped functioning.
These are junk.

I bought kiddie smoke alarms not very long ago. They will not reset no matter what you do. I think this is a terrible product and I hope this reaches a lot of people so they don’t waste their money. I am a widow on a fixed income and this makes a hard life even more difficult. They should be held to a higher standard and make a better product. I don’t won’t replacements I hate this product. I will be getting a better brand.

Alarm starts chirping - the ONLY to shut it up is to disconnect the smoke alarm.

2 week old fire alarm with 10year battery life won't stop beeping would not ever recommend

Interconnected, hardwired set of smoke + Carbon Monoxide alarms in our home went off tonight for zero reason. No candles, nobody up doing anything, no smoke. Separate CO alarm says zero CO present. Happened at 2am, checked everything and found nothing. Then went off again at 2:10am.

Seeing hundreds of posts from other homeowners that their Kidde 10-yr alarms do this irregularly around 2-4am. So frustrated, as this freaks everyone in the house out for no reason. Our set is 8 years, 8 months old. It never beeps to show a battery backup is needing to be replaced.

While working on a kerosene heater, it caught fire so I ran to my kitchen where I had a kidde fire extinguisher which had never been used, pulled the pin and pressed the handle and got nothing from the extinguisher. Had to carry the kerosene heater out of my garage and douse it with water to put out the fire, Extinguisher was absolutely useless , I’m just glad the fire was not inside my house , Do not depend on any kidde fire extinguisher.

Bought 3 of the smoke detector/carbon monoxide. Brand new only a few months old. Going off at 3 am randomly. They beep 3 times then the green light shuts off. It's not an alarm just a device failure. Called customer service and they wanted me to stand there all night and wait for it to do it then take a video of it. Not worth it to me to do that. I gave them a chance to make it right otherwise I'd buy a different brand. They weren't willing to consider without video evidence. In my opinion faulty products right out of the box, and costumer service is difficult.

we called customer support to help us with their two alarm products we bought, unfortunetly the experience was so negative over the phone.
they refuse to replace a defective product.
