Absolutely shocking experience with this Kearys Belgard.
I was overcharged by €300 for a routine service, including €6 for a battery I never authorised and €200 for running a diagnostics machine.
These charges were agreed in advance.
Since raising this, I’ve been forced into multiple back-and-forths trying to get my money returned. In October, I was clearly told a refund would be issued, yet here we are months later and nothing has been paid.
The communication has been poor throughout, with constant delays and no accountability. It’s incredibly frustrating to have to chase something that should have been resolved immediately. Daniel, the manager ignored multiple follow-ups and failed to resolve the issue despite repeated attempts.
Having now seen other reviews mentioning overcharging, my experience unfortunately doesn’t seem to be an isolated case.
I’ve escalated the matter to the CCPC and have reported to Renault head office.
I would strongly warn others to be extremely cautious and to check every single charge and do not assume anything is being done transparently.
I would get a quote in writing.
Car service
Left our car in for its second service..circumstances changed so I really needed a replacement car..the guy on the service desk wasn't helpful..I acknowledged i didn't book a rental car..however I thought there would have been some understanding of my position..I left the car in anyway tried to arrange a lift as I live in Celbridge..I met a nice s salesman on the premises..I explained what happened..he suggested to go back and ask again which I thought was strange..I approached the same service guy again..after a moment all of a sudden he had a car i could rent..time had passed..I asked him how long to you think he could have the car for me..he rudely said I TOLD YOU I HAD A CAR...I wasn't one bit happy with that pointed reply so l let him know..he denied he said it which pissed me off...other staff who witnessed what he said remained silent..I took my car and booked it elsewhere....not one follow phone call to ask me what happened..a poorly run company ....

Service is terrible, no reply calls, long wait list
Called 3 times in a 4 weeks, no return call even its been said I will receive call for car service very soon. After my 4th call I got appointment for end of next month 🤣🤣🤣🤣. They could suggest another Renault service as car is still under warranty, but seems they dont care...also called for car replacement and received return call after a month...Definitely gonna avoid kearys belgard and cannot recommend them...too bad as sale is great but thats the only great, first service and completely different story
Abominable Communication, Avoided, 1 Year Wait for a Fix
We bought a Nissan Micra from Kearys Belgard in Jan 2025. Upon viewing the car we noticed some scratches, which were buffed out immediately in the body shop. We also noticed that the digital radio console was broken and the dials didn't work, we pointed this out and were told it would be fixed but we would need to wait on a part.
We bought our car through Claire, who worked alongside Ryan, the used cars sales manager.
We didn't hear from Kearys for some time and so we contacted Claire ourselves. Multiple times, we were told we'd have to wait another week or two. In the meantime, we have a check engine light on the dash. We continued to contact Kearys and eventually they booked the car into services. The check engine light turned off the day before and so, they couldn't diagnose the car.
We're still waiting to hear about the radio, and it's silence. We were told Claire had moved to a different department.
We get on to Ryan, having investigated with other garages how much for the radio part and how long a wait. We asked if he could sort the problem at Kearys, or would he like us to book in at another garage. We were told he'd sort it.
In the meantime the check engine light comes back on. At this stage, we wrote an email and stated that we would be getting the CCPC involved as we were being ignored and the product sold to us was faulty.
Eventually, we ring Christina in the service department. She was very helpful and sympathetic. She gave us email addresses for the head of new sales and the head of Kearys Belgard.
Finally, Mick from new sales began to get the ball rolling and ordered the part, he also apologized about the wait. It was clear Ryan was ignoring us. It was Jan 2026, one year later.
The check engine light was back on the car, so when it was taken in for radio repairs we asked for this to be looked at also. The car was gone for 5 days, we were provided with a company car and were told our car would be brought back to our house when it was ready.
The car was fixed, but we were told we had to go pick it up and in the car footwell was rubbish.
It took 1 year to sort a problem which in the end took less than one month to fix. We are of the opinion that we were being avoided in the hopes our warranty would run out. There was no communication on Kearys end, it didn't matter whether we rang, emailed or went up in person: no one wanted to deal with us.
I thank Christina and Mick for finally helping us out. But I would never buy a car there again and I have recommended the same to family and friends.

I bought a van from kearys belguard Dublin. 5months later I had DPF lights on the dash .called kearys I was told to keep driving as they were to busy ,the gave me a date 5 days later so I brought the van .I hung around for couple of hrs at the showroom then I was told the van would be another few hrs before it was fixed ready to go
So I received a phone call that evening I was told he van needed to be serviced I will have to pay 580euro to turn off the dpf and engine management light I refused to pay .so then I was told there was other issues?????? I had the van checked by an independent fully qualified well established mechanic opened the air filter box the air filter was completely black and rock hard hadn't be replaced in a very long time same with the fuel filter still had cob webs n dust on it a .i was told it had a full service when i purchased the van then it needed another service which they wanted me to pay ???l contacted the commercial manager chris deasy. He said i was driving the van not as it should be, start telling me how his wife drives im a 51 yr old man driving since im 15 motorcycle s artic trucks and coaches The van ended up in there garage at belguard Dublin for a full week with no access to gey my scaffolding and ladders and tools so I lost a full week work as im self-employed I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS AGAIN ONLY THIS TIME IV ALOT MORE THE DPF LIGHTS STOP LIGHTS ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT THE VAN IS LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE THERES SO MANY LIGHTS THE VAN IS NOT ROAD WORTHY NO BRAKES NO WINSCREEN WASHER NO SPARE WHEEL SPARE WHEELER HOLDER BROKEN THE VAN HAS NO POWER THE BATTERY KEEPS GOING FLAT.chris deasy has absolutely no people skills found him very arrogant spoke very rude made me out to be completely stupid the . Worst Aftersales I've Ever Experienced
Bought new car and had some issues. Incredibly was told the wouod be a diagnostic fee to see what was wrong? The car was a couple weeks old, told that was different to a repair and not covered by a warrenty? Then worst aftersales service I have ever experienced and I have bought many cars over many years. Not one phone call returned in spite of constant "I'll get someone to call you back". Amazingly when I decided to change the car I called to get a sales appointment: usual " no-one available I'll get someone to call you". Never happened. Called without an appointment, told sales what happened and I was there to buy a new car. Told to wait. Two hours later I told sales I had to go. "Will call you in afternoon ". No call. Bought my very expensive new car elsewhere. Would advise you to do the same- avoid.

Sent in my car , waiting 4 weeks for 2 sensers not good enough Iv had to fork out 1800 euros for a rental to keep my job ,and now being fobed off , saying now have to wait 2 weeks more , not happy, this should have been done 3 weeks ago, they need to do better!!!
Avoid Kearys Belgard - shambolic
Bought a new dacia duster back in 2018, from kearys belgard. We've had it serviced there since to maintain the service history with dealership.
We have spent thousands on it for problems that we have never encountered with any of our other cars, been driving for 30+ years.
We have received the car back with the steering rack loose so the wheels wouldn't turn when we started it up when collecting.
We had a breakdown they said they couldn't look at it for THREE months.
We spent nearly 2k on a recent full service with timing belt replacement (we were suckered into that cos our mileage is very low, way below avg 12k annually).
We got a red warning light again, approx 4 months later, one which means turn off the engine immediately and get it looked at.
Were told there were 25 cars in the breakdown queue and it wouldn't be looked at for 2 weeks. At the two week mark, we started ringing for an update, to be told we'd get a call back. ELEVEN calls made and finally a week later, we were told it would be looked at in another FOUR days.
Got the call that it was ready for pickup, when I started the car, the screen was asking for an authentication code and the orange warning light showing loss of traction was on...I had yet to move the car.
I went back in, they took it across to the workshop, bear in mind that one of the workshop guys drove it across the road for pickup ignoring both the warning light and code request.
I waited for approximately two hours and was then told that the reprogramming which was necessary after replacing a cylinder injector had 'dropped' and it needed to be reprogrammed again!!? What's to say that won't 'drop' again? It sounded like a BS excuse anyway considering how long I was waiting. The bill was over 1,200.
The cherry on the cake was that everything from the glove compartment was sitting on the floor of the passenger footwell along with packaging from something.
I was told that as there were COVID masks in the glove compartment, for health and safety they couldn't put them back!!???
They wear gloves ffs and they could touch them to pull them out. The masks were unused by the way but that's beside the point, the car manual was lying there too...too heavy maybe for health and safety perhaps?
They have also LOST our keys before after it was left in.
No accountability or responsibility and bullshit excuses.
To be fair to the girl I was talking to from the service department, she was making calls to the workshop and doing her best. I overheard one male staff member telling her in no uncertain terms that "he couldn't do anything about it, what do you want me to tell you?" I don't know what the "it" was at the time but it gave me the distinct impression she was fighting a losing battle trying to get straight answers and following up in order to give customers information.

As I was waiting for hours in the customer waiting area, I got talking to a man who was trying to pick up a new car he had paid for before Christmas. The color car came in that he wanted, he was told to come and collect it....got there to find another salesman had SOLD it to someone else and they couldn't get the same color so would he take one that was the same color with a black roof, he said he would and they told him it was an extra 900 for the two tone version. He gave out and they just offered to return his deposit. He eventually agreed... only to have that one sold to someone else as well! He was picking up a totally different color that day cos he was in bad health and couldn't cope with any more hassle. That's how they treat someone buying a new car!!???

Bought a brand new car in Midleton three years ago and we’ve had nothing but trouble. It’s been recalled several times, anytime you need something you can’t get anybody, they say they’ll ring you back but they never do and you have to call and call. Worst service ever. Bought BYD Seal U off Cian down in BYD Belgard . I have to say my experience from start to finished was fantastic. As I need my car adapted for my mam it wasn't a straight forward process . But Cian in BYD helped me everyway he could even got a company that adapted BYD cars as they a fairly new car some places didn't want to do it . Can't thank Cian and all the other staff in BYD Belgard enough delighted with the car . Will definitely be back once you purchase a BYD you won't look back absolutely fantastic car thanks again BYD Belgard
