Having been diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes I was recommended by my optician to see Mr Balaggan at the Wolverhampton Nuffield. During both consultations, diagnosis and surgery I received the very highest level of care and expertise from Mr Balaggan. His explanation of my condition and lens options was very clear and precise. The lenses he recommended are quite simply the very best you can get. The surgery on both eyes was seamless and completed successfully within a few weeks. I now have excellent vision in both eyes, (can now find my golf balls) I cannot recommend Mr Balaggan highly enough, a very skill-full and pleasant gentleman. I was informed that my deteriorating vision was due to a combination of floaters, Asteroid hyalosis and a detatched vitreous in one eye, together with cataract developments in both. Not good news!

As a serious photographer and wildlife enthusiast, with a more than a casual interest in microscopy, my deteriorating sight was frustrating to say the least.
Also, as a retired Dental Surgeon with close ties to medical and opthalmology disaplines, I needed to be seen by a surgeon with the right experience and the knowledge to cope with any complications.

Why Mr Balaggan?
Well his web page displays a glowing CV and frankly speaks for itself.
However, quite unexpectedly, I was interrupted by a complete stranger whilst at a music venue. He had overheard me explaining my plight to a friend. Unprovoked, the man then turned to me and recommended Mr Balaggan for the superb eye care he had received with him at the Eye infirmary.

A consultation was duly booked and eventually cataract surgery completed on both eyes.
I, like the stranger, cannot fault the care I have received from Mr Balaggan. His attention to detail,the explanations of the complications, lens options, etc., and the precision surgery - all excellent.
He is also a very pleasant, empathetic man too. A credit to his profession and I'm not being paid to say this!
I now have an improvement in vision that is simply fantastic and has far exceeded our expectations.

I first met Kam Balaggan 2 years ago when my optician recommended him for laser treatment on my right eye.
Last month I was recommended again for cataract surgery on my right eye. I had no hesitation in seeing Mr Balaggan again and from first consultation to post surgery check up last week, cannot be more pleased with the outcome, i am now 'balanced' in both eyes and my vision is beyond spectacular. Cannot thank this true gentleman for his skill and kindness and he really does change people's lives.

First class service, outstanding expertise, calm and reassuring professionalism from the initial consultation, through surgery to remove cataracts in both eyes in February and May, to the excellent aftercare and final consultation today. Following Mr Balaggan’s excellent advice, I opted for enhanced monofocal lenses, offset to give me a greater range of vision and correct an astigmatism. The result? 20/20 vision and the restoration of bright and vibrant colour. Truly remarkable. Absolutely recommended.

Some years ago, having worn contact lenses for in excess of 40 years, my optician introduced me to the "miracle" of multi focal contact lenses. With cataracts getting worse Mr Balaggan has recently performed the "miracle" of removing the cataract affected lenses in both eyes, replacing them with enhanced lenses giving me 20/20 vision. I cannot thank him, and his secretary Debbie, enough for the calm, helpful professional service that they have given

We have received first class service from our optician for many years. However, at my wife's last sight test he confirmed that he had done all he could to improve her sight by way of spectacles. He suggested a consultation with Kam to explore a surgical option.
From the outset, Kam was very professional, but friendly; very clear in his diagnosis and explained the recommended procedure very well, in terms we could understand.
The arrangements for the procedures were made very efficiently by Kam's assistant, Debbie, as were the follow-ups.
The outcome of the surgery has been fantastic. For the first time in over 60 years my wife has 'proper' vision without the need for spectacles. To say this is life-changing for her is not an understatement.

Kam looked after my 97 year old mother who had cataract removal surgery and a lens implant in her right eye.He dealt with all the difficulties involved and keeping a balance between surgery and the necessity for surgery.We opted for surgery on the one eye not on both.She went to Kam after a NHS consultant had stated it wasn’t possible to do the surgery due to macular degeneration in her eyes.We were recommended to him by an optician who was aware of his expertise and skills in this field after we wanted a second opinion.
We can only thank him for his calm manner and surgical skills in improving her eye sight and enhancing the quality of the last few years of her life.

Last month I had a cataract removed from my right eye by Mr Balaggan and the insertion of a lens tailored to my specific requirements. I am absolutely delighted with the outcome - my sight is exactly what I'd hoped for, and more, because of the attributes of an enhanced lens.
After a bad experience elsewhere with my left eye, I was anxious about treatment to my right, but from my first meeting with Mr Balaggan, I had trust and confidence that I was in the best hands. At all stages, he was patient, attentive, listened to my concerns and took great care to ensure the best solution for my particular requirements.

Mr Balaggan is very well qualified and highly experienced, with a very pleasant, empathetic manner. The cataract operations were very successful, with my sight restored to 20/20+ vision. A possible problem with glaucoma was carefully investigated in collaboration with a glaucoma specialist colleague. I count myself very fortunate to have been one of Mr Balaggan's patients.

I had cataracts removed from both eyes and replacement lenses fitted in December 23 and March 24. The improvement in vision is nothing short of miraculous.

Look no further than Mr Kam Balagggan when requiring a superb opthalmologist. Any worries and concerns about eye surgery were immediately dispelled when meeting Mr Balaggan. His professionalism and reassuring manner must be second to none. I have received first class treatment and aftercare and would positively recommend him to anyone who is looking for the best.

A few years ago I suffered a detached retina which caused a macular hole. I had surgery and then a further operation to remove the oil which was used to stabilise the eye. Over the last months I noticed increasing amounts of oil were still present and this was causing me a lot of discomfort and sight issues. Having already had surgery I was very reluctant to do so for a third time. My optician agreed that I should seek a consultation. I chose Mr Balaggan after carefully looking for someone experienced in macular/retina surgery. From the initial consultation he was kind and understanding and explained in detail that he could remove the remaining oil and clean my lens as needed. After consideration I chose to undergo surgery in march and Mr Balaggan and his team were wonderful. They put me at ease (I was anxious) and following my final appointment I have more light coming into the eye and clearer vision. Mine was an unusual case and I’m very grateful to him and his caring team. I cannot recommend him enough and wish I had found him earlier. Five stars are not enough
