A helpful and knowledgeable person on the end of the telephone. This person was also considerate of our circumstances at the time of ordering - and subsequently arranged follow-up Emails as reminders of e.g. turning mattresses etc.. These were all relevant and not overkill as so many communications are with other companies.

Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and helpful taking time to discuss my requirements. On the agreed date the delivery arrived exactly on time .

All contacts with the John Ryan team were excellent. They understood our need, and offered advice on the best mattress for that need. Thank you.

Once the order has been place It would have been nice to have some regular contact from John Ryan.

Delivery was disappointing. Whilst the courier provided excellent updates on delivery times the delivery itself could be improved. The mattress was delivered in a van that leaked water and I would have liked the 2 delivery people to handle the new mattresses with some respect.

The most important thing is that the mattress itself is comfortable.

I got my first mattress ever from John Ryan, an Origins Pocket 1500. I thought I needed a firm mattress due to back pain issues but their sales rep (Michaela L) convinced me that there is a difference b/w spring tension and comfort layer feel, and that for my weight a medium spring tension is recommended. She answered a number of other questions I had - and did not pressure me to make a sale. Nor did she make recommendations for any mattress over my own budget - I hate it when sales people do that! Furthermore, I appreciate that John Ryan do not do highly discounted and manipulative sales like other mattress providers. The mattress costs X and that’s that. I found the John Ryan website full of valuable info that other mattress providers don’t share.

In contrast, the salesman at a Dream store nearby had no advice to share other than to select what feels good at the store - and tried to pressure me into buying something quickly! I really did not want to give my money to them after that.

All in all - I felt like John Ryan offers a great customer experience and I wanted to buy from them and support that.

Delivery only took a few weeks.

Whilst you can’t check the mattress before buying, John Ryan also do a full refund if you are not happy with the mattress. This gave me the confidence to buy from them.

One month in, I am really happy with the mattress. I don’t know if the experience will still be good in 5 years or so, but time will tell.

Easy to use website and purchase. Follow up phone call to make sure correct mattress (spring no, weight etc) ordered. Very helpful.

I did a lot of research on mattresses and visited a few different shops and ended up buying online from John Ryan. The website had lots of great information to help me make my decision and once ordered online I got a call from the company. The lady basically made sure I was buying the right mattress for me and checked that access was ok. She recommended I send her a video from my front door to the bedroom and she checked it for me then confirmed the order. I was pretty impressed by this level of personalised service. It didn’t stop there. On the day of delivery I realised I forgot to ask for my old mattress to be recycled. The delivery guys, who were absolutely amazing, hung around until I rang the office to complete this transaction. The lady in the office had to liaise with the delivery company. Thankfully it was all resolved. As for the mattress itself I am very happy. Super comfortable and great quality. As a super king it’s very difficult to flip as it’s so heavy but that’s what you get for good quality. I also got an email telling me when it was time to flip my mattress! Amazing!

The mattress was unfortunately a bit too firm for my liking, so it didn’t quite suit me in the end. However, after getting in touch with customer service, they were very understanding and agreed to allow me to return it.

I was really impressed with how the company handled everything. The communication throughout the process was excellent, and the customer service team were friendly, responsive, and helpful at every stage. They made what could have been a difficult situation very straightforward and stress-free.

Overall, I think this is a very good company that clearly cares about its customers. It’s just a shame that the mattress itself wasn’t the right fit for me personally.

I'm no spring chicken, I've slept on some rubbish beds over the years, but the most expensive mattress I've ever bought has been by far, the worst. It's caused my wife and I hip and back issues, despite being a split design supposedly ideal for our body weight.
Don't just read the glowing 5 star reviews on this company; look to the many 1 star reviews and see the commonality.
My recent communication with the company was dismissed and the person suggested a topper pad, despite my initial email informing them we already have a topper pad.

Edit: again, you didn't read. WE ALREADY BOUGHT A TOPPER and yet here you are suggesting it again. Ironic. I'm sure you sleep soundly, and I bet it's not in one of your beds.

Amazing mattress and a great experience from customer service. Once I'd placed the order I was called to check everything was in line with my needed. Delivery was done conveniently and on time, with the delivery men taking the mattress up to my room on the first floor. So happy and having amazing sleep so far!

I Purchased the Resiliance 2 as I am a heavier person and this was recommended for heavier people.

When the mattress came i was impressed with the quality. It really does look lovely.

In absolute honesty, after only 3 nights on it, I was all set for sending it back. It felt so firm compared to my previous mattress and I felt sore lying on it. My hips were really sore and I began regretting my choice. When I looked at sending it back though I noticed they strongly advise at least 4 weeks before fully deciding.

I decided to persevere some more and I am pleased I did. Sure the mattress still feels very firm however I am no longer sore. I definitely think it has began to soften a little and my body is getting used to it.

When it was time to turn the mattress, I had another night like the first night. This indicated to me that the mattress had definitely softened on the other side. Thankfully this discomfort only lasted again for 1 night.

If you do purchase this mattress please give it the recommended time. I now find the mattress comfy and supportive. I don't get sore anymore and I look forward to crawling into bed each night.

The customer service from John Ryan was excellent. They were very informative. They went out their way to make sure I was making the correct purchase for my body type and my sleeping pattern.

Delivery was also great and they took my old mattress away.

All in all I highly recommend this company.

Not someone who usually leaves reviews, but this one feels deserved as I begin the process of replacing my mattress. After developing a persistent neck issue that I ultimately traced back to what I had assumed was a high-quality mattress (Vi-Spring), I did extensive research and came across John Ryan.
During the decision process, I went back and forth a number of times, and their guidance was both patient and well-informed. I eventually chose a King Size Artisan Bespoke 004 in medium comfort (#2667) in January 2013.
Thirteen years on and on a slatted base - the mattress has held up remarkably well and, quite honestly, still performs much as it did when it first arrived. That level of longevity and consistency is rare, and for that alone they deserve genuine credit.
That said, while it doesn’t strictly need replacing, I now feel ready for an upgrade, which has led me to seriously consider moving to the Artisan Bespoke 002.

Wow, what can I say, just spent night 4 on my new bed and mattress and cannot believe I have slept solidly for 7 …. Yes SEVEN hours. I have been really suffering with back pain for months which has reached scale 9+ on the pain threshold sleeping just between 1 and 2 hours at a time with excruciating pain in and between. Am hoping this new level of sleep will now be my future. Thank you John Ryan for the wonderful advice given prior to my purchase.

Have had my mattress for 6 months now. Elite tier comfort and build quality. One of my best and favourite purchases. John Ryan is the gold standard as a company and as craftsmen.

John Ryan provide an excellent service from purchase to delivery. I am overly satisfied with their Bespoke 002 mattress, I've had it for almost two months as of writing, and it's easily the most comfortable mattress I've slept on.

I followed their Mattress Finder tool and did a bit of reading to settle on the decision, a JR representative also called to confirm if my selection was a good fit. The delivery estimate of 4 weeks was accurate, even during the holiday period, and the delivery company they used (Alliance DHD) did an efficient job.

The massive amount of detailed information on their website, along with many positive reviews on Trustpilot and other sources is what drew me to purchase from them. I have read some mixed reviews about the longevity of some of their 'lower priced' mattresses, so I'm hoping this will last, especially given it's cost and how much I'm currently enjoying its comfort.

The only drawbacks for me is I wish JR would allow the position of their Divan base drawers to be changed (such as only one side having drawers). Also, I found some of the images of their upholstery options to be a bit unclear in terms of colour and texture. Those niggles ultimately led to me ordering the bed base elsewhere.

Overall, 5 stars, I would certainly order another mattress from them.

I am thrilled with my legacy 2 matress . Very high end and luxurious. Order and delivery etc all spot on .This is my second purchase from John ryan I would definitely recommend them !!
