Friendly Atmosphere
Great experience at JD Gym Preston friendly atmosphere and friendly staff. Great equipments to do all sorts of body works weights and excercise as well as group classes through out the week.

Better than expected
I was really impressed! Not sure what I was expecting but it’s great. So much bigger than expected, the facilities are spot on and the changing rooms are absolutely spotless 100% of the time!
The staff are fab, brilliant PT’s and the classes are so good!

Sadly, there’s a thief at Riversway Docklands Preston who stole my belongings but that’s not a reflection on the gym at all - staff have been lovely about it.

Well maintained gym floor, equipments and friendly staff. Good thing about jd gyms is that its open 24 hours.

Like being packed into a tin of sardines
Way way too many people! Never seen a gym so busy and never seen one with equipment so close there's no room to do what you want. It's like being packed into a tin of sardines. Waste of time and money.

Fab gym! Great place and people
Asked for a tour first and Alex showed em round, sign up was easy. Plenty of equipment and weights. Have found other gym users friendly and helpful. The staff have been helpful and friendly too. Was initially nervous about going after using a PT for so long - but so far have found it a great experience.

Disappointing
Disappointing, as someone who usually goes to the gym in the late evenings the changing rooms are shut and there appears to be only one toilet facility to use and it was filthy. Having only one toilet and no changing facilities to use in the evening when the gym is still busy isn’t acceptable. I know those using the toilet should take responsibility for keeping it clean but that doesn’t seem to happen. On top of that having to unload weight plates off every single machine before use and the struggle to find dumbbells as that also seems impossible for people to put them back where they’ve got them from. I’ve always used 24hr gyms and although some suffer the same problems this was by far the worst.

Our Preston gym is open 24hours and throughout the night, our accessible changing room is open should you need to get changed or grab a shower. We do close some areas (i.e the main changing rooms and saunas) for the safety of our members but our accessible facilities offer complete privacy!

At your Preston gym your team member Danny showed me around the whole place, explained how machines worked and informed me regarding the classes available. Very friendly and knowledgeable. As far as the gym, everything worked and the changing rooms & showers were clean.

A great gym, just one complaint
I like the gym. Just one complaint. Two of the rowing machines had flat batteries, so the screens were not working & i couldn't time my workout of choose the workout i wanted

Gym Hygiene and safety rating and all
I actually enjoy doing the gym but I feel there is lack of hygiene to some extent as you need to focus on cleaning the bathrooms and the gym machine. I also think you need to clean lockers I might be wrong. Also there is more need for changing rooms for boys I believe. Overall it’s good but my bike actually got stolen so I think for all gyms there is need for a proper investment in a place for locking the bikes which is secure like covered or inside the site or connecting to the site. So yeah thanks.

No idea how busy till you get there
Only just joined as I'm thinking of changing from my current gym. I went the other day and it's a nice gym, and nicely laid out. but it's now 6:17pm on a Saturday and I'm trying to drag myself to the gym but I won't be going to JD... why? because I know there are 40 people in other gym but I have no idea how many are in JD... is it 20 or 200? One simple thing that every gym with electonic entry should have - and most do apart from JD... is a live tracker of how many people are in there.
The app itself isn't great but I could live with that, unfortunately not being able to track how busy it is, is probably enough for me to not make the change.
