Great choice of gym equipment. Non functioning app big let down
Great choice of gym equipment. Clean and well maintained work out spaces. The thing that let's JD gym down is a not fit for purpose app. Not only is there nothing on there such as fitness tracking, there's not even a way to know how many people are in the gym so you could arrive to it packed out. It doesn't even track your time in the gym or a schedule. These are all pretty standard things in gym apps these days. As someone who likes to go to the gym when its quiet not being able to know how busy it is until i get there is a no no for me and will probably lead to me looking for another place sadly. You expect better from a private members gym at these prices.

Not the most accessible
No independent Access or exit as a wheelchair user. Some areas, especially free weights, can be hard to access due to the placement of machines.
I also have to pay full price despite only being able to use certain equipment, as there is no accessible alternative, eg wheelchair treadmills or hand bikes.
This also means I can't do the classes.
The automatic door into the Wellgate has been broken for months too, meaning waiting for staff to be able to let me in, then once at the gym having to press and hold the buzzer for help, as while there is a wheelchair entrance, there is no scanner to open it, so staff have to do so from the office.
The gym is a major part of maintaining independence, but I'm not able to access it independently due to the layout; it's rather frustrating.
It would be great to see Disabled gym-goers consulted and included in equipment purchases and layout in the future. Especially when we are expected to pay the full price for half the experience.

I’ve had a fantastic experience at JD Gyms. The facilities are always clean, modern, and well-maintained, with a great range of equipment to suit all fitness levels. The gym has a welcoming atmosphere and never feels intimidating.
The staff are outstanding—friendly, professional, and always happy to help with any questions or advice. They work hard to keep the gym running smoothly and make members feel valued. Their positive attitude and excellent customer service really make a difference.
I would highly recommend JD Gyms to anyone looking for a high-quality gym with excellent facilities and a great team.

Firstly staff are unbelievable, super kind and respectful with very friendly service as they give to all.
Negative side: the toilets are mostly dirty and stinks and shower room.
And then all the lockers are brocken, looks like some thief are around and not feeling safe to leave personal items in to the lookers!!
Brocken promises they been said foe over year as the Dundee JD gonna be active and open 24hrs/7.
But this is just a marketing tricks to get people in to the gym. Then they nothing can do and people leaving !
Its because, most people are working in hospital. Or other evening shift and they wanna go to gym after work or before work!
That is why people then leaving and start join Prue gym or The Group gym!!
This is nit just thought even all my friends and others who is with me at the gym !!
Missing training iteams: most of workout machine have missing a part and not been fix or replaced even ..

That said, we’re sorry to hear about the issues you’ve raised. Cleanliness in the toilets and changing areas is something we take very seriously, so it’s disappointing to hear this hasn’t met expectations. We’ll ensure this feedback is passed on to the gym team so it can be addressed.
We also understand your concerns around lockers and feeling safe leaving belongings. Our teams do carry out checks, but if you ever notice any damaged lockers, please do let a member of staff know so they can take action as quickly as possible.
In terms of opening hours, we’re sorry for any confusion or frustration caused. We appreciate how important access is, especially for those working different shifts, and we’ll pass your feedback on to the relevant team.
Regarding equipment, we’re equally disappointed to hear some items are not in full working order. Our teams do carry out regular maintenance and work with engineers, but we’ll ensure your comments are highlighted so this can be reviewed.

It's like a crap game show trying to find a locker that isn't broken. One heavy bag is always broken so there's always a queue for the one that remains. Bit filthy too.
