I signed up for Jaunty Social Gym hoping to brush up on my social skills and maybe learn something new. By enrolling in their courses covering charisma, conversation, and assertiveness, I was openly seeking genuine personal growth. While the platform promises an organic, supportive community, my actual three-month experience revealed a highly transactional system that leverages user vulnerabilities for profit. Here is the reality of my journey:
👍 The Pros (What Appears Promise-Rich)The Concept: The idea of a dedicated space to practice social frameworks, body language, and approaches is highly appealing on paper. Initial Polish: The training material and lessons present themselves as a polished, superficially sophisticated system.
👎 The Cons (Questionable Techniques) Jaunty teaches a trick called "Ask-formations," where you ask yourself questions like "Why am I so confident?" Academically, this method has zero clinical backing. Forcing your brain to accept a false premise creates cognitive dissonance. Research shows this forced positive self-talk actually backfires on people with social anxiety, increasing feelings of fraudulence. When the gimmick fails, clients blame themselves instead of the program. This creates a profitable loop for the business, trapping vulnerable people into paying for memberships they do not need.
(The Transactional Reality)Grossly Overvalued Pricing: The platform funnels clients toward 1-on-1 coaching costing an exorbitant $400 to $500 per 60-minute session. This price point vastly exceeds what licensed psychotherapists or credentialed communication specialists charge. Additionally, the predatory nature of this business model features morally questionable conduct from members that is actively encouraged.
Corporate Sales Tactics: When I questioned these extreme rates, Instructor and Business Partner Leigh Ann dropped the supportive persona and deployed retail sales scripts, telling me to wait for an upcoming promo so I could "bundle and save."
Manufactured Environment: The platform relies on hired actors as practice partners. This proves their ecosystem cannot thrive organically; they must import paid talent to simulate a receptive community, creating an artificial loop rather than real-world self-sufficiency. The owner publicly defends using paid actors by stating they are "like sparring partners at a boxing gym". This is a complete false equivalence. Real sparring relies on absolute transparency; both peers step into the ring knowing exactly who the other is. In this gym, you cannot distinguish a genuine member from a paid actor secretly on the clock. Furthermore, sparring inherently involves an adversarial dynamic where someone loses and gets hurt. Using this hidden, combative framework in a space marketed as an organic, supportive community completely confirms that Eric and his business model are predatory by admission.
Questionable Culture: The platform actively praised intrusive real-world behaviors—such as celebrating a male participant who passively bragged about targeting on-the-clock service workers to practice flirting. This exploits retail workers whose jobs mandate politeness.
🤖 The Breaking Point: A Total System Collapse The definitive proof that this is a corporate sales funnel occurred when I respectfully posted these exact concerns on our internal forum:
The Owner's Panic: The founder, Eric Waisman, panicked. His social poise immediately shattered into defensive damage control. Refuting my claims with what his business actually was, he was essentially and ironically pitching his business to other members. He tried to force our debate into a private 1-on-1, and permanently banned me when I declined.
The Automated yet deliberate Fraud: Immediately after the manual ban, their automated retention email system sent and exposed their entire operational loop. Despite being banned by the owner himself, the automated system chased pursued my bussiness anyway. The system sent an email to my blocked account deploying a fully unedited, seemingly personalized script, to galight me into believing they cared.
Crucially, this automated message was signed directly by the owner, Eric, stating:"Do you remember why you joined Jaunty? I’ve been tracking your progress, and I saw you were closer to a breakthrough than you thought. Come back for 1 month, completely free. No strings attached. Why? Because I've seen too many people give up right before their 'click' moment, and I don't want that to be your story." Which is Fraud and deceptive bussiness practices.

I did the 6 week class in 2021 and it helped me tremendously. The classes are great and the community and coaches really keep you on your feet. I highly recommend!

Joined the Gym about 3 months ago after seeing their ads on instagram for what felt like forever and finally just pulled the trigger.

Was skeptical it being on zoom would actually work into real life but the way the breakout rooms work you're basically forced to practice every class. There's no faking it lol.

Instructors are amazing. I always used to run out of things to say within 30 seconds, now I can keep a convo going way longer. I even got a few new contacts that have become longer term friends.

They use the Circle platform and the community is actually active which I didn't expect. it's nice to meet people going through the same thing at the same time.

Only complaint is that I can't make many of the class times because I work long hours so more weekend options would be nice.

Would recommend if you actually plan on showing up to the classes and of course using it! If you just sit there and watch, nothing's gonna change. But thats true of anything.

Pros:
The instructors are the real deal. personable, knowledgeable, and easy to follow

Cons:
Tech stack is shaky. Expired Zoom links, sessions scheduled in the wrong timezone, and instructors who show up late are just par for the course here

The community space is also increasingly cluttered with members using it like a personal blog or Facebook feed, which isn't what most people signed up for

Caring community of sensitive people, plus inclusive pricing! Much appreciate the immediate access to instructors on Jaunty's social media feed for any questions and concerns. Thank you Jaunty for the upward spiral within myself and my relationships.

Great platform for people wanting to improve social skills. Enthusiastic and helpful coaches that hold space for everyone and introduce good phrases and tools to use in conversations. Especially appreciate this over Toastmasters because they use breakout rooms that are generally smaller and everyone gets a chance to speak, participate, and practice the skills.

My experience with Jaunty has been incredibly valuable. The coaches are knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely care about helping you grow. The community itself is so welcoming, encouraging, and full of people who are all working toward becoming better versions of themselves…I truly love being around people like that!

Through Jaunty, I’ve gained practical tools that have helped me show up more confidently in my friendships, at work, and in my relationships. The coaching is interactive, insightful, and gives you real-world skills that have truly been life-changing. I’m beyond grateful for this incredible team.

I have never know of any company that helps people work on their social skills by pairing them up with other people to actually practicing socializing. What made it even better is that everyone there is so open about what they are trying to work on which helped me feel more comfortable. The coaches teach the conversational skills in a structured way that makes them easy to follow and very useful for real life use. It took about a week to really start letting down my guard and now I love how many new quality friends are coming into my life.

I joined Jaunty because I wanted to build more confidence, improve my networking skills, and honestly just become a stronger version of myself socially. It ended up being way more valuable than I expected.

The coaches are smart, supportive, and genuinely care about your growth. You can message them, ask questions, and they really show up for you. They also make it fun with icebreakers, live coaching, and bold homework assignments that actually get you out of your comfort zone.

What I love most is the community. It feels welcoming, encouraging, and full of people who are all working on themselves. I have made real connections through it too. I met a photographer friend through the group and even grabbed lunch with another member while I was on a work trip to Chicago. With over 7,000 members, there is always someone interesting to connect with.

Since joining, I have gained practical tools that have helped me show up with more confidence in my friendships, at work, and in my relationships. The coaching is interactive, insightful, and gives you skills you can actually use in real life.

I really had a great experience I did the Masters cohort and found it very beneficial. It looks great is you can do this from home and I will certainly be using it again! She did something like this in person it would be so much costlier.

The social skills I learned in Jaunty classes have helped me make friends, nail interviews, and improve my dating life.

I'm a lifelong student of personal growth, and the exercises taught at Jaunty classes have set me off on a tremendous journey, which has changed my social life and the way I approach problems.

In today's age of social isolation and technology dependence, the people at Jaunty are bringing things back to what really matters- human connection. I love the mission and I'm very grateful for what I've learned.

WARNING: UNFAIR BILLING PRACTICES ⚠️

I am extremely disappointed with Jaunty. I signed up for a set of 5 classes, yet they turned it into a recurring subscription without my clear authorization. They have been charging my credit card for over 9 months without providing any further services.

Despite trying to resolve this, they have made it nearly impossible to cancel or get a refund. For a company that claims to teach "social skills" and "communication," their lack of transparency and unresponsive customer support is shocking.

Avoid giving them your card details. They are a subscription trap.
