Hi everyone!
This is a very bad store, money grabbers .
My daughter’s phone Iphone 13 was fixed in this store four times, IT STAR Balbriggan, Millfield Shopping Center.
First time , the problem was that the battery expanded , we paid 150 euro. The second time the problem was the screen cracked and the battery expanded again and we paid 70 euro,but after less than an hour,the screen came out again because the battery expanded again.The third time the phone broke again and we had to pay 80 euro.
The fourth time the phone broke again after just a month passing by from the last time we fixed it.
My daughter went into the store and the girls from the store they tried to give to my daughter a fake discount ,,60 euro,, what is this?
Every time we fixed the phone they gave us a different price.
So guys, be carreful!

Great place! Sol accommodated me immediately and managed to fix my phone just before he closed. Very prompt and professional services here. 100% the best place in Galway!!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately my experience with this phone repair shop was very disappointing.

My daughter dropped her phone and it only had a small crack in the outer glass. I was quoted €60 and told it could be repaired straight away, so I chose this shop because I was in a hurry and my usual repair shop was closed.

About half an hour later I received a call to say it couldn't be repaired until the following day. When my daughter collected the phone, the repair looked untidy, with glue still visible around the screen. Once we got home and switched the phone on, we noticed the display didn't look right and it appeared that the outer screen hadn't been fitted or sealed properly.

I returned to the shop the next day. The technician who carried out the repair was immediately dismissive and suggested the phone must have been dropped again. I explained that we'd only collected it the previous evening, the shop was closing, and we only noticed the problem once we got home. After some discussion, he agreed to look at it and replaced the screen a few hours later. He mentioned that the wrong screen had been fitted and said it wasn't his fault.

Around three weeks later, the display started developing vertical lines. I brought the phone back to the shop. As soon as I walked in, the same technician again insisted the phone must have been dropped before even examining it. The phone has always been kept in a heavy-duty case with a screen protector and showed no signs of impact damage. From what I could see, the outer screen also appeared to be coming loose.

When I tried to explain my concerns, the technician walked away. I asked him to come back so we could discuss the issue, but he refused. I then asked for a report of the work that had been carried out and for his name, but both requests were refused.

I am now left with a phone that is no longer working properly and no explanation of what repairs were carried out. The lack of customer service, unwillingness to discuss the issue professionally, and refusal to provide basic information was extremely disappointing.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this repair shop.

Nice guy very helpful . I bought a mag safe charger and he cleaned out the c connector on my phone . As I bought the charger he did the clean for free . Great

I went there Saturday 29 2025 took them a week to diagnosis becuase my gaming pc was overheating and was charged 85 euro wasn't fix wanted me to go back and get redignosted and it needed was a 20 euro CPU cooler didn't even say what they did or a diagnostic report got nothing all I was told was it will be 85€ I went to the newbring one and they wont respond to my emails

If i could give Zero it would be more accurate. Absolute gangster operator. Reported to gardai and consumer rights commission. Bought a phone charger for in January for €40 stopped working after a week… returned to the shop in February the owner tried the charger in multiple phones convinced me it was fine. Tried the charger then again it slightly worked but kept turning on and off… went back again in March by this point it wasnt working at all and his staff told me he could not do refunds unless the manager was there. Came back there today he tried to get the charger working and it didnt work, at this point he just was like im not changing it or giving you a refund you bought the item in January…i then called the consumer rights authority who explained to me i was entitled to a refund. i told him that under consumer rights its a faulty product and im entitled to a refund… he said he didnt care and asked what was I doing coming into his shop and telling him what to do, i said im not telling him anything im exercising my legal rights as a consumer… he said he didnt care and hid in his back room eating food while his staff stood with vacant looks in their face. Total gangster operation avoid at all costs

Visited IT star Jervis center Dublin, just to inquire regarding phone charging issues as I was thinking i would need to buy a new phone, the staff quickly identified the issue and sorted it within 1 minute, saving me the hassle of spending €1000 on a phone.

Fake Apple Accessories? Bought some Earphones, totally different sound quality to the real thing. One side stopped working after 5 weeks no returns allowed.

Really disappointing experience with IT Star in St. Stephen’s Green SC.
Had my iPhone screen replaced, and a privacy screen added, for 100e.
Within literally 5 minutes of bringing it home, a really minor tip on the side of the privacy screen damaged the edge of the new phone screen directly below. This then bugged up the entire screen, making it virtually unusable: darkening it, alternating with lines of faded pink. When I went back (the first thing the next day) the staff member I met was really unhelpful. He kept saying I had ‘dropped it on the ground,’ and that they didn’t cover damage. Really poor quality products and pretty aggressive service. Got it all redone at Mr. iPhone for 70e.

I took my Samsung galaxy S24 FE with broken screen and rear camera cover. It was restored within an hour. Satisfied and happy with the job. I will highly recommend them.

I visited IT STAR, Galway S. C. pm, 4 Jan on the advice of vodafone -who weren't able to sort my problem. The staff member I met sorted the issue in a couple of mins. I'd somehow managed to activate 'talk back' (?) and couldn't turn it off. I didn't get the mans name, he was very friendly, helpful & efficient,

Had my screen replaced here and it was clearly a cheap, low-quality replacement. It broke again within a week of the repair. Very disappointed with the quality and wouldn’t recommend. Staff unhelpful

V. unhappy with service and product bought from IT Star Arklow. Tried to return JBL headphones (in excellent condition with all packaging) 4 days after purchase. Wore headphones for 10 mins and ears became very sore. Plus start/stop button would not turn off, light remains on. After being told I could exchange for another headphones and looking at some, a different staff person took over. They told me I could not exchange or get a credit note because they needed to resell the item. Claiming they couldn't resell because I had used the headphones and they were marked. They weren't marked and I needed to use them to see a problem. They sell second-hand items!!!! Staff left me waiting to serve others. Staff need customer service training, neither apologised for the unusable item, for the inconvenience or offered any solution we both could be happy with.
I can't use this item; losing €90.

I bought a number of items including 2 x double usb-c plugs. One stopped working a few months after purchasing and when I returned to the shop with the receipt I was told that I only had 30 days to bring it back if there was a problem. This shop clearly has zero clue about EU consumer rights or they simply choose to ignore it. Out of principle, I will be escalating this via the appropriate channels.

I bought a phone case with a photo of my dog inked onto it and a week later the case broke and when I went back I wasn’t allowed a full refund which was stupid so they gave me a new one and the day after I bought it the ink peeled/broke off. The store was very stubborn and not understanding about how stupid it was that the first case broke literally less than a week after buying it and would not give a full refund. 😡

I'd give 0 stars if I could.
A member of staff in Clarehall pressured my friends autistic son to purchase a second hand iPad that cost more than it would have new.
They then tried to refuse to refund the item after being confronted with what they had done. Taking advantage of someone with autism is disgusting. If this is how you conduct business, I will be informing everyone not to go to any of your stores. I will especially make this know amongst the autistic community groups to do the same. Shame on you. Absolutely disgusting.
Judging by other reviews this is not a one off, but is a company policy.

Bought a cheap Nokia phone here, Aston Quay Dublin store. Battery was crap from the start. Takes ages to charge and then doesn't hold the charge. Useless. Buy cheap buy twice. Avoid this dump and pay a little extra elsewhere for a usable, reliable product.
