Absolutely delighted with the interactive service on my annual travel policy by Jack Mccabe. He solved my problem of adding my spouse to the existing policy without any ado, whereas I first tried to use their website to get a fresh quote for her, but after spending lot of time was thrown a message that InsureandGo have no product for her !! Well done Jack, Thank you.

Spoke with Curtis this morning to purchase Holiday insurance. All very straightforward as usual. I have used this company for years. Curtis was very polite and helpful.

Owen from Insure & go was excellent - BUT I'm so angry with the insurance industry companies like this one, that just don't cater for people with second homes abroad. All many of us want is medical cover. No frills but long stays. These companies give you all sorts of extras you just don't need like cancellation, (you can always alter the date of sailing or flight - our 'hotel' is our own house), in addition, in our case we dont want repatriation, (I would rather be treated and recuperate in France) The policy also covers unwanted luggage cover and so when you add on pre-existing condition(s) on top of the extras you don't need, and with longer stays it costs a bomb. I was quoted £1,100 for 87 days and one pre-existing condition (without even telling them about any others) It's absurd. There is a proportion of the UK population - moderately large numbers who have a second home abroad, who are not just going away for a fortnight, so why is there no suitable policy for them? There must be a big potential market for it. I spend hours and hours every year doing screenings for unaffordable policies. Why no bolt on add baggage, or cancellation, or repatriation ONLY if you want these extras?

Purchased an annual policy last year and have now been told that it will auto-renew unless I go through a laborious and time-consuming process to cancel the auto-renewal.

Why? Unlike home or car insurance, most people don't require continuous cover from a travel insurance policy. This provider does not offer the option of opting out of auto-renewal at the point of purchase (and I don't recall anything about auto-renewal being mentioned at this point). They hide the fact they are doing this on page 3 of an unnecessarily password-protected policy document.

I also never agreed to have my card details stored for the purpose.

The whole thing looks like a scam to catch people out and I doubt these practices are even legal.

My customer service advisor Owen was very helpful, cheerful, and patient. He was a pleasure to deal with and emailed everything immediately.

I received an email yesterday to say that they were offering a 20% discount on premiums, so I conacted customer services and after over 2 minutes of protracted preamble, I was put through to a sales person. I said that I already had a quote on line a few days earlier and would he refer to that and give me a revised quote. He said that those details had been deleted and I’d have to go through the whole questionnaire again. He could not explain why the original quote was not still available. So I had to go through the whole thing again and he insisted on advising me the policy details which I aleady had from the first application. He insisted that he had to read this all to me. So after all this unnecessary time wasting, he quote me a price of over £80.00 above the original on-line quote, despite the offer of a 20% discount. I asked him why his quote was more expensive and he said that was because I was taking to sales direct and quoted ’someone has to pay our wages’.

Mmm, Something really wrong here!

Once you get a quote online, even though you opt out of marketing, they keep sending you offers & marketing for YEARS in the mail, online etc. Online you can easily stop receiving their rubbish, but through mail they'll be sending you trash for the rest of your life!!! Even under GDPR rules when I've requested to be removed, they still keep you on their mailing list. I'm sure their quotes are so high because they spend a fortune printing out & sending tonnes of unwanted marketing every year forever.

Covered for a trip to Luxor in Egypt (lots of hazardous activities) but refused a sedentary jewellery making workshop in India, (wonderful workshops)

Increased my policy renewal because I visited my gp a short while ago because I thought I might have an ear infection which I didn't.
No further treatment necessary and all is/ was fine.
This has annoyed me significantly.

I have noticed that all of the reviews on here are about how easy it is to book the insurance and only one other person plus ourselves are pointing out the fact that yes it is easy to book and be covered? With peace of mind promised but if you do face a problem abroad don't expect any timely response even when emergency line was called the fastest response was three days plus an email apologising about the fact they can't help! Myself and my friend paid for the silver annual multi trip insurance. We are completely lost for words by the lack of any timely support while my foot and then feet swell up while on a holiday to India. It destroyed the whole holiday, they had no answers and sent me an email telling me that they can't help. I had to completely take control myself, they offered no peace of mind which is what they promise and we paid for. I ended up in two hospitals and now have returned home only to try and find treatment in the hands of NHS. They have completely failed as an insurance company promising peace of mind and cared for, how? and on top of that told us to wait until the 5th of June for their decision even if they destroyed the whole holiday and paid it all myself. The hospital even told us to fly back business class for extra space for my foot and they 'InsureandGo' told me to do all changes requested but with not even a guarantee of covering any costs. I am now waiting for their continuous delays to come to an end with a decision of compensation for their lack of service which we paid for? then I can contact the Ombudsman! I can't see any support from them just constant delays from the first time I contacted them. The first time I needed any medical support while travelling paid for it and they did nothing. That is 'Insure&Go' just make sure nothing happens to you or your friend!

Whilst the overall Trustpilot score looks ok, please read the reviews. All of the positive reviews are based on customer service experience when taking out a policy or answering questions. All of the negative reviews are when customers have needed to make a claim. We unfortunately have firsthand experience of this; insureandgo have refused to pay a penny for my grandmother who fell ill and subsequently died in Panama. She paid £2500 for a gold policy and disclosed all of her preexisting ailments, although her cause of death wasn't related to anything preexisting. This company will employ any underhand tactics to avoid helping you, which is when you are often at your most vulnerable.

A very nice lady called Angela F dealt with me and she was just brilliant! Being an OAP, I can be a bit slow but Angela had the patience of a saint and sorted me out with exactly what I needed?
I had to check something, so I had to call her back but she’d gone home and a young man called Dominic took my actual purchase. It would be good if Angela got the commission because she earned every penny!
