Applied for a 1 year tourist e-visa online on Sunday 30th Nov 2025 from the U.K. still not received.
The 72hrs/3day turnaround is not correct, because I’m still waiting for my visa.
Suppose to be flying out today in the evening from Saudi Arabia.
Previously I’ve gone through VFS Global and it’s not been a problem getting a visa.
Advise for everyone is apply well in advance or pay the extra and go through VFS Global
Why let the Indian government make money when their system is a failure and a complete embarrassment which they are not bothered about.
DO NOT USE THE ONLINE SERVICE IF YOU NEED A VISA URGENTLY

Have used the E-Visa portal for several years and its always been hit and miss, very clunky and repetative and getting so far before you receive a "some error has occured" and have to start the process over
However, this year its been worse than ever and now its failing to take payment, making you wait 15 minutes before trying again, its really frustrating after 5 times, for a Country which prides itself on its programming accumen, its website is a real let down

Unfortunately, I can’t write a comment with zero star so forced to put 1 star. I am shocked to how slow and inefficient the VISA process takes and the best part, nobody can help you the reply is always, just wait. The website says approximately 72 hours to get approval. I am waiting for more than 15 days for my 13 yr old daughter’s e-VISA. Had to miss the flight split the family just because someone in the process is not doing their job.The Mahakumbh hosted 450 million people. World news. I wondering how was the VISA approved for so many people then, and now my little girl’s VISA is still processing. I thought India has no manpower issue! I thought they were IT experts ! I am utterly shocked to know that a simple task can take a very long time to get a response and nobody takes accountability.

This is quite the worse website and service I have ever encountered. Others have given their experience and mine was no different. But to add further insult my first payment went missing. I couldn't resolve the problem and the folk at the other end wouldn't accept the documentary evidence I supplied, e.g. from my bank. So I ended up paying again. Still had to wait about a day as the system "processed" my paid for application. Is the Indian Government not sufficiently embarassed to do something about this?

For a government operated website it is nothing short of disgusting. Constantly crashes, systems are set up by clowns.E entry card just as bad.
COME ON INDIA!! Get it sorted.

An embarrassingly bad website. I cant begin to describe how awful this experience has been.
Unfortunately I made the mistake of paying for my airfares before applying for the visa. Had I not done so I would have abandoned the mad idea of visiting India on my way to Dubai.
Now, having spent around 15 hours inputting, correcting, re-inputting, uploading, reuploading I finally got all the details in and accepted, only to have the site reject my payment and now refuse to accept the number it told me to record "in case you need to check your application details'.
Everyone tells me this is typical of the Indian experience so maybe it is best I abandon the idea of visiting India.

If I could give is zero I would. This is the worst on line application ever. I have still not completed it having spent hours, over a number of days. It keeps timing out and will not save all the information previously entered so you are constantly re-entering. I will never be going back to India, that is if I can complete this form before I leave in 3 weeks.

Server always ovewhelmed. Took 5 tries to fill a form. No cache saved, have to retype each time.

This official sit is the most incompetent site I have ever encountered. I have spent hours being bumped off & re-inputting data in order complete four application forms. The process is so stressful. One thing that I learnt is that if you copy & paste the application ID number it will present as a ‘1’ not a letter ‘I’. Honestly, I have never come across such stress trying to complete online official documents. I am an avid traveller around the world. Good luck anybody having to fill this in. You need to know how to change a photo into a JPEG & reduce the size..a real headache.

Error opn every page and had to fill all information 2-3 times. Shame on Govt of india for having this kind of website. It shows the standard of Govt work.

The system always kick you out and you have to fill dozens of times the same information and pray to god that the system will allow to the next page...

Horrible experience. The website is pathetic. Seems such cheap hosting. This is not supposed to happen from a country that pioneers IT. It keeps disconnecting frequently and we cannot resume immediately. Photo and passport uploading feature is worse. I would rather send you the copies via postal mail.

Please Government of India, I humbly request that you upgrade your website for international foreigners to apply for tourist visa to enter your country. It is a rubbish website, full of glitches and regularly times-out. I have visited India multiple times and know you have a high caliber of educated tech professionals. UPGRADE your website please.

Totally waste of time, the site always collapse or for any reason it doesn’t allow you to move to the next tab due to the lack of secure connection etc.

If I could give no stars I would. 4 times today, I've attempted to get an Indian visa, website has timed out every time, regardless of how fast I type. The save and continue function doesn't work. The number to continue partially completed applications, sent to email just plain doesn't work and just makes you start the entire application again .The website is a national embarrassment, It looks like a primary school kids first assignment. After being told 10 years ago in Nepal as an Australian citizen that I have to fly home if I want a 6 month Indian visa- I flew to Europe instead. Now 10 years later I'm going to Malaysia and Indonesia instead as its impossible to get an Indian visa. I've been trying for 2 days and have given up. Bravo India Bravo. what a slick tourism sector.

I have seen all the other reviews and think Indian Government needs to make this website a lot easier. I've never had problems with this website but there are a few things I would like to point out.
* I travel to see my family and friends and book hotels through booking.com. Why doesn't the website register that and needs additional address of the website?
* Why is parents information required when you coming as a tourist? what does the parents information has to do with it? As a middle aged person?
*Why do I need to give a reference of someone in India If I've provided the name of the Hotel?
*The website should use a little more algorithm to understand with the age of the child when putting information.
I understand the frustration of people about the website being slow.
This website frustrates people to not visit India rather than excite to pack your bags.
Such an amazing opportunity ruined by the mediocre user interface to fill the forms.
