I purchased a Lamborghini from Imperials for £175k through collecting cars the auction site (167,500 winning bid & 6k+vat fees to cc) on the 9th June.

Imperials had stated the car had no faults.
Cars listed on there must comply with the credit consumer act, where you have recourse should they be not-as-listed.

I had good communication with Mason, Shaun’s Son up until day of collection, the 20th June.
When I was there, he told me the car had the tyre light on, but would go out one I was ‘down the road as he’d just chucked some air in’, I asked if that meant it had a puncture, he said no.
I took some photos of the car outside the dealership before setting off.
I got home and the tyre light had not gone out, also I’d noticed the engine management light was on (and is shown being on in the pictures before I left them).

I emailed my findings to Mason the next day, asking what to do. No reply.

I emailed again on the 17th July, stating as I’d had no reply offering help, I wanted to exercise my right to reject the faulty vehicle within the 28 day period (credit consumer act). No reply.

16th August, another email sent by me. No reply.

I informed Collecting Cars, at this point, who banned them from using their site, and I issued a ‘Notice Before Action’ on the 31st August.
I was going to take them to Court for the amount of the service invoice I’d received to put the car right, for nearly £3k. The ecu report from the inspection shows the faults were present & being ‘reset’ for some time before I collected the vehicle.

3 days later, a reply from Mason! The first one since collection – attaching a signed order form by me (which I was given to do after already paying for the vehicle, & as I was out the door with the folder of service history in my arms) where I have waived all my rights to the credit consumer act apparently.

It’s just disappointing, buying a car like this should be a great experience, and I’ve been let down by some cowboys. It’s luckily rare this happens now with second hand car sales, as things like the credit consumer act were set up to stamp them out. So please check the paperwork Imperials are getting you to sign when you are buying.

At short notice I contacted Imperials about a 991 911 Turbo S

I’m pretty demanding when I want something so I did a deal over the phone with the expectation that I could collect the following day. Very short notice for a car that requires the attention to detail and preparation prior to release.
Imperials were adamant that the car was absolutely perfect but despite that they were insistent that it had to go through the workshop and meet high standard (including 12 months MOT) irrespective of how many months were left on the existing MOT.
The Porsche passed its MOT with flying colours but the check pulled up that the rear tyres were below a certain value but more than legal for the Mot.

I hadn’t noticed this but it was pointed out to me and a reduction was agreed to reflect the future cost and requirements for new rear tyres.

I feel I bought this car at an incredible price as the market with these cars was in a massive unpredictable position due to supply and demand and also availability of stock.

Overall, I have been delighted with the car and the way it was described prior to purchase. I traveled a very long distance to buy my Porsche but I had confidence in Imperials that the journey wouldn’t be wasted.

Great experience with Mason and Charlie. We purchase a Mini virtually - Mason FaceTimed me so we could see the car and it was then delivered to us in London the same day. Couldn’t have been more seamless! They were both a pleasure to deal with and we’re thrilled with the car.

Highly recommend. I’ve bought a number of cars through Imperials, very professional outfit who have a great variety of well spec’s cars. Specifically they were able to source a car for me on short notice. I’ve dealt with Jamie on numerous occasions, he’s very knowledgeable with great customer service.

My first time spending this amount of money on a vehicle so pretty scary time. I found imperial motors on auto trader, and from the very first contact made with them (Jake) I was made to feel very comfortable. There was no pushy salesman talk, just honest speaking and everything at my own pace and I certainly wasn’t rushed to take the vehicle, in fact the sale was delayed by a few days only for my benefit as Jake wanted Land Rover to do the final warranty check before I had the vehicle.
The day of collection I met another chap (Oliver) again couldn’t be any more helpful, the final paperwork was straight forward.
I would highly recommend these people if you’re looking to spend good money on a vehicle, your’ll not be disappointed.
