11 months, a dead chiller, a tub that ripped apart, and a company that will not stand behind it
Bought Icebound’s Endurance Plunge + 1HP Pro Chiller (Order #1238) on June 3, 2025 for $2,999.99. Also paid $279 for the SureBright / Likewize extended plan they sold with it.
October 20, 2025 — four months in, still inside their 12-month manufacturer warranty — I emailed that the cooler was extremely loud and the tub lost air every few days. I asked for replacements of both.
What followed was months of their troubleshooting, not mine: inlet O-ring, mesh strainer, white filter, plumber’s tape on ports, hose swaps, two priming methods, videos, and multiple FaceTime / video calls with support. On those calls they walked the unit with me and said if the steps failed they would fix it.
The chiller never worked. Filter housing does not fill. Pump never builds pressure. It runs about 90 seconds and shuts off. Same result every time, including after the May 22 priming attempt.
They did send a replacement tub in November 2025 after the first one leaked. On May 5 I told them that replacement was holding air. That is the only thing in their story that is fair.
June 15, 2026 — preparing for a live diagnostic they scheduled — I went to unscrew a hose on the tub and the entire metal threaded fitting pulled out of the plastic housing. Tub unusable. On the phone they told me to file with SureBright for a full refund or replacement instead of finishing the manufacturer claim.
That is when it got worse, not better.
SureBright approved repair, then approved the claim, then approved a replacement, then stalled because of Icebound’s replacement terms. Likewize sent a Wireless Equipment Replacement Affidavit — a cell-phone form — for a cold plunge. Section III makes you swear you own “the wireless device.” I had to fight that and later sign under protest so the claim would not expire. They rejected paperwork on name / product-name technicalities. September 21 they said they could not replace with an Icebound unit. September 25 SureBright denied the whole claim because the issues were first reported in October 2025, during Icebound’s manufacturer warranty, and sent me back to Icebound. Same day Icebound refused a refund and refused a replacement. Their offer: I pack the chiller to Austin or pay $84.25 for a box, they inspect, and if they decide it is not covered, I pay to ship it back.
So the manufacturer points at the $279 plan. The plan points at the manufacturer. The customer still has a unit that dies in 90 seconds and a tub with the fitting ripped out.
This is not how a company that stands behind a several-thousand-dollar home product behaves. I would not buy from Icebound again, and I would not trust the extended plan they bundle at checkout.
I want a refund of the order or a complete working replacement. Until they do that, spend your money somewhere that will still pick up the phone after month four.
