I have done Iboga many years ago, but this time was completely different. Iboga has been, by far, the strongest breakthrough for trauma, mental loops, and limitations that I have ever experienced (and I have done a lot in this lifetime). The medicine itself is incredibly powerful, but what made this retreat unique was having Rupi and Steven holding the space and guiding the whole integration.

Their presence was immeasurable — they are real people who have truly walked the path, carrying a wisdom that goes far beyond their humble way of being. My gratitude is beyond words and it’s a wholehearted yes to anyone who’s at a point in their
life where you truly want transformation.

After three Retreats with Steven and Rupi I found them to practice their craft with humble expertise and professionalism beyond my expectations. Not only are the ceremonies conducted according to Traditional Iboga principles, they are a team who manifests the Male and Female Shamanic Energies in commendable harmony.
Below follows the background and retreat experiences / observations upon which I base my confident recommendation to anyone who may consider to in them in ceremony.
I found the Iboga medicine to demand more resilience, endurance, respect and commitment than other Plant medicines. The ceremonies were often twice as long as with other Psychedelics. Some participants required a further 12 to 24 hours to integrate.
Compared to around 38 Psychedelic retreats and ceremonies with other plant medicines, I believe Iboga is the one Psychedelic that requires a Shaman who:
1) Has been trained by the Authentic Tribal Custodians in Africa over an extended period.
2) Has the strength of heightened Consciousness Awareness to Serve Iboga, Hold space for extended hours, Support participants before, during and after the Ceremonies with Wisdom, Insight and Understanding of the many human conditions which prompts people to enroll in the retreats.
3) Has the Calm Confidence of Experience to provide all of the Guidance and Support required for participants to achieve their objectives.

I found Rupi and Steven through friends of mine who had sat for a ceremony with them and highly recommended them. We are all experienced medicine takers so I trusted them completely and I was right to do so.

I spoke to Rupi and a couple of months later I was in their gorgeous home in Sintra. Their kitchen is a special place to sit, watch amazing food being cooked for you, and just stare our the window into the lush vegetation and cats and critters.

These two have a respect for the Bwiti tradition and the medicine on a level that is beautiful and, frankly, what I expect from my shamans in any tradition. As it should. Steven has been doing this for about 13 years and Rupi is coming up on 5 so they have seen a lot of folks through a lot of ceremonies. They are experienced, warm, kind, knowledgeable, wise and deeply connected to the plant and the Bwiti tribe and their leader.

I felt warm, safe and welcome from the minute I stepped onto the property and held throughout the experience. I have sat with other medicine and this one, for me, was powerful and magical. I would not fear it. It will do with you what you need.

I walked away with what I sought. It was thrilling. But the mind... it comes back. It’s a journey and always more deep work to be done. I will 100% be back to the plant soon and to Rupi and Steven as soon as I can make it from California.

They love their work and the medicine and hold space in a beautiful, safe, and respectful way. They are also fun and very playful. This is a serious medicine for serious healing but they also make it an enjoyable experience.

Six months after I started looking for an Iboga retreat I found Iboga Medicine in what turned out to be beautiful Sintra in Portugal. After talking to Rupi on the phone I knew I found the right place. Rupi and Steven are a lovely couple and both very capable healers. They knew exactly the right things to say during the second ceremony, which was very rough at a certain point. I attended the Iboga retreat with Rupi and Steven for the second time. This time, it was in a new, beautiful location – a stunning house with feng shui principles, surrounded by a lush green garden.
