The site is deliberately designed with several pointless steps while not showing the additional fees until the last step when you just want to finish the transaction, by clicking as fast as possible though the pointless process.

Für mich wird es keine weitere Fahrt nach Ungarn geben, UAI ist nur daran interessiert Gebühren für sich abzukassieren ein Widerspruch wird nicht bearbeitet, Ich habe am 16.06.24 für ein Fahrzeug über 3,5 to eine Streckenmaut bezahlt 78,93€ und am 29.11.24 von UAI eine Strafmaut 309,37€ erhalten, Reduzierung auf 137,88€ bei sofortiger Bezahlung, Wurde von mir sofort bezahlt, ich habe Widerspruch eingelegt und meinen Zahlungsbeleg der bezahlten Streckenmaut hin gesendet ohne Erfolg, Sie kennen selbst nicht den Unterschied zwischen einer Vignette und einer Streckenmaut,

I crossed Hungary coming from Poland, on the way to Romania. I stopped at a petrol station around midnight and purchased the vignette for 30 days using my Revolut card where I exchanged from £ to Ft, as I was planning to cross again Hungary on the way to UK. The cashier mistaken UK with Ukraine, luckily I noticed before moving away, and I returned to the till and another receipt was issued, with the correct country. After nearly 4 months, I received a letter with the photo of my plate number claiming I didn’t pay the vignette. I couldn’t find at that time the receipt, so I only sent the card statement where the purchase was recorded. I received another letter saying that is not a proof, but luckily my wife found the receipt in the meantime, so I sent an email to prove I did pay the vignette.

So, be aware, the receipt is about two feet long, there are loads of informations written there, make sure you check your plate number is correct, the country where the car is registered and the right amount was paid. On the receipt is written to keep it for 3 years (although the writing on those kind of receipt start to fade away after 6-9 months) so make sure you will at least take a few photos of it and keep the receipt as well.

If you pay by cash and you don’t keep the receipt, you have NO proof you paid the vignette, meaning you will pay the penalty as well (£92 if you pay within 60 days - there is no hold if you make a complaint or you make a grievance - £230 after 60 days).

If I could avoid Hungary, I would never cross that country for the rest of my life and I encourage everyone to do so. Anyway there’s nothing to see there and the people are mean.

It is a big scam, so act accordingly.

Die Registrierung und Kauf dauerten kaum 20 Minuten. Sehr praktisch da man an die Grenze nicht warten muss. Man kann wählen in welcher Währung bezahlt wird.

It is a scam, you pay for about 5€ more... for 10 days vignette

This is not the official site for buying the Hungarian vignette, it merely acts as an intermediary and charges an 80% premium on top of what you would normally pay for the vignette. The state owned site looks to be this one e-autopalyamatrica.hu

Used them to buy a Viginette and made a misstake, they helped to what to do after and got instant respons in the middle of the night on several emails.
