The issue with this hosting provider…
The issue with this hosting provider may be deeper than it seems. Here is my account.
We are a group of journalists monitoring websites that facilitate money transfers from Russia to Europe, the USA, Canada, etc., in circumvention of sanctions imposed on Russia. We found such a Russian website hosted by this provider (I'm not naming the website here, as I don't know if it’s allowed). The site had been active since September 2024 until yesterday. I contacted the hosting provider and pointed out that they were breaking European law. The website was taken down almost immediately — probably because the provider realized how serious the situation was.
We then started investigating further and found another website hosted by them, posing as a transport company in Ukraine, offering fake job "opportunities" in Europe with salaries for unskilled jobs like £5,000 or €10,000 per month.
We submitted screenshots and links saved via the Wayback Machine and asked them to investigate. What do you think? No response at all. Today, we sent a follow-up email — still no answer.
We have already notified Polish authorities and the ABW (Internal Security Agency), and we are preparing reports for submission to relevant EU authorities as well.
I have proof of everything I’ve stated — including correspondence (and the lack of it regarding the second phishing website).
Facilitating the circumvention of sanctions is a grave crime and will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
If you are serious about your business, I do not recommend hosting your website with this provider. Their swift reaction in one case and total silence in another (regarding the phishing website) is alarming, to say the least.
EDIT:
Today, we notified the provider that, according to Article 304 §1 of the Polish Code of Criminal Procedure, any person who becomes aware of a crime prosecuted ex officio has a social obligation to notify the prosecutor’s office or the Police. (The provider is registered in Poland.)
We specifically referred to the Russian website previously hosted by the provider, which facilitated illegal money transfers from Russia to the EU and the USA. We also requested confirmation from the provider that such a notification had been made.
So far, we have received no response.

Our company acts strictly in accordance with Polish and European law, including the Digital Services Act and applicable sanctions regulations.
As a hosting provider, we are responsible solely for content hosted on our infrastructure. We carefully investigate any abuse report concerning hosted content and take appropriate action when illegal activity is clearly identified — either through our own review or upon receiving a formal order from competent authorities.
In one recent case involving allegations of sanction circumvention, the reported website was reviewed, confirmed to be in violation, and the service was suspended accordingly. The violation was clear and easily verifiable, which allowed us to act immediately and responsibly.
Regarding the second matter mentioned: we received the report, acknowledged it, and initiated a thorough review. However, unlike the first case, the provided materials referred to third-party websites and external content not hosted on our infrastructure. As required, we needed additional time to verify whether any illegal content was present within the hosted service itself. Our review concluded that no unlawful material was found on the website hosted on our servers.
We are not affiliated with our clients beyond standard hosting agreements. We do not engage in, facilitate, or support any illegal activities by hosted customers. Any accusations suggesting otherwise are completely unfounded.
All abuse reports are documented internally and available for review by competent authorities if necessary. We remain fully committed to transparency, compliance with the law, and cooperation with regulatory bodies.
