Except for the scaffolders rescheduling the work several times, the rest of the installation went like clockwork. The electrician Daniel, and the Roofers Tom and his mate (sorry, forgot his name) have to be commended for their attitude, courtesy, politeness, friendliness and work rate. Likewise, all office staff that I have dealt with have also been very friendly with a great attitude. I can't miss out the surveyor, who again showed professionalism, courtesy and again a great attitude. I would recommend this company and its workforce without hesitation. Well done Home Smart Energy.

From start to finish I was impressed by all staff connected with the company. Craig Morgan the surveyor was punctual, polite and kept me informed of the process and what to expect. the scaffolding company contacted us to say they would be there the next day, and they turned promptly, were polite and business like and very efficient. The next person we were involved with was the electrician Tom, who rang us the evening before and gave us a time of arrival, he was true to his word and arrived on time, was very efficient, kept us informed of what he was going to do and what the next process would be.
Shortly after he left the panel installers, Tom and Charlie. Again their business like approach to the task was exemplary. The process was completed and it was up and running straight away.
My whole involvement with the company has restored my faith in British workmanship. They are all a credit to the company and themselves. I have no hesitation in recommending the company.

I keep getting random power cuts when it is raining and windy. I have contacted them to resolve this three times, and I am promised someone will contact me to arrange for an engineer to return to look at the system. This never happens. So far I've lost 2 freezers full of food.
It is the earth trip, tripping out, so there is a real danger of an electrical fault.

The engineer re-routed Solar to separate the fuse. This has finally sorted the problem. Storm Isha produced no issues. I had a good response and support since posting this. Upgrading to fair. I will review it later on.

The process throughout, from enquiring to completion was handled professionally. Work to install the solar panels was handled well and with care. Had a bit of a problem obtaining all the certification, but a few e mails sorted that out.

I had been thinking about getting solar installed for a while. I had some ideas on costs but I had also read some scary stories of the problems people had with installation.

So my expectations were low and boy was this experience so fantastic! Home Smart Energy hand holds you through all the steps. It was clear from the beginning. My survey allowed me to discuss options. I had been told by a friend about something he thought I needed. The surveyor told me it wasn’t needed as I had a clear roof line with no trees getting in the way! Saved me some money!

Then it came time to arrange the install. Again my fears disappeared as they could install very quickly - on my case in a week!!!

Installation was great and I’ve been a happy solar owner ever since!

What a truly awful company. Their customer service department are really letting them down.

Our problems started when we queried the cable run, after their surveyor promised that the cables from the Solar Panels and the Inverter would be run out of sight, behind the facias. He omitted to tell us that he planned to run the black cable conduit down the front of our white painted house. Having challenged this, an electrician was sent to site and a new cable route was agreed.

So not too bad so far.....

We contacted customer services soon after, wishing to proceed with the install using the new cable route.
They said "they'll get their projects team to give us a call".

No call back!

We then wasted a month on numerous phone calls and emails to their customer services to confirm the new cable route was okay with them. Not one promised phone call happened and no emails were replied to.

It took a complaint to Solar Together for them to finally reply, but by then we really had had enough.

If they're this bad pre-install, what are they like post install!

We cancelled the order. Not surprisingly, they've refused to return our deposit, even though they were the cause of us pulling out.

Their customer service agents really should take ownership of the problems coming in and follow up and check that promised phone calls or actions have actually happened.

We sourced a new Solar Panel system from a local trader on the Which Trusted Trader site. Not only were they brilliant, but we got a bigger battery and it was £800 cheaper!

We recently had 10 solar panels installed through Home Smart Energy via our local council's Solar Together scheme. The whole process went much smoother than I imagined. Scott our electrician was a particular highlight. He kept us fully informed about the various steps and the adjustments that he had to make to get the cabling from the inverter into the fuse board and made sure everything was tidy both inside and outside. The panel install also went well. Our system has worked perfectly since install. Our only regret is not having more panels put in.

Scott the electrician carried out his work ready for our solar panels today. He spent time checking the route for cables from the roof to garage and explained the options and best routes. He worked diligently and tidied up afterwards. He explained the system and downloaded and explained the app on the iPhone.

Great post-install technical advice. We have had solar panels and batteries for 18 months and we are more than pleased with them. Since then we have had great help with a number of technical questions as to how to get the most out of the system. We now import from the grid during off-peak time. Our latest query was whether the system would support another storage battery and this was very efficiently dealt with by the current Technical Support Advisor.
(For technical advice, phone works best).

Poor installation quality company not interested in correcting poor installation. Install team just rushing to finish. No information given on completion, just left.

Used this company through Solar Together to install a battery system. All parts of the process were easy and dealt with very efficiently. Installation was on date agreed and carried out extremely neatly and quickly.

Applied for a solar energy system through the Wokingham Council scheme. The whole process from registering to installation went smoothly. The surveyor, scaffolding team and electrician contacted us to make appointments before turning up and appointments were invariably honoured. The surveyor, John Wells, was knowledgable and took his time to explain everything in detail to our satisfaction so that we knew what to expect from the system to be installed. Pete and his team of scaffolders turned up on the promised date and went to work without any fuss. They came back a few days after the installation to take down the scaffolding just as efficiently. Chris the friendly solar panels installer and the Cezar the electrician carried out their jobs efficiently on the installation day; the solar panels were laid out differently from the surveyor's blueprint to make them more aesthetically pleasing and we were saved the cost of a garage board recommended by the surveyor. Cezar went through the setup on the app before he left so that we could tell straightaway how our system was working. I appreciated the follow-up call a few days later by Jordan who kept his promise to send us the MCS certificate within a few days instead of having to wait for a few weeks with which to apply for SEG. Therefore we're well pleased with HSE and highly recommend them.

The time scale was good from survey to installation. The surveyor was clear in his explanations.

Went through solar together and have had an excellent experience so far. We have had 17 panels 2 3.2kw batteries plus a iboost for the immersion and they also linked in my ev zappi charger.
From survey to installation - approx 4 weeks. Scaffolding up on a Monday , installation done on the Thursday and scaffolding down following Tuesday
I did have an issue with the iboost the first day as no power to it but they came back 2 days later and fixed the loose wire.
So far very happy and pretty much off grid including topping up the EV every few days.
All contractors that arrived were polite , professional. Make them the odd cuppa and they get through their day happier as well 😁
Install was 14/09 , so approx 3 weeks up and running

We came through the Solar Together Scheme. Once we were keen on the competitive quote, a surveyor came to firm up the plan and kit. We had the installation 9 days later and it’s gone really well. Impressed with the kit and installers.

All the tradesmen connected to this installation were courteous and efficient. The solar panels were placed in the paddock and look very neat and unobstrusive. There were a couple of teething problems but these were dealt with quickly.

From start to finish that has been a well organised scheme introduced to us by Surrey County Council and followed through with an excellent experience for our installation by homesmart energy. Everyone, we've dealt with in the course of the survey and installation has been so helpful, courteous and supportive. Special shouts out to Simon, our surveyor, Bill the electrician, Billy and Cameron installers and Danielle at HQ. Thanks to you all. What a well organised company that's helped us with a daunting journey.

Excellent service. The roofing time were efficient and effective and the electrician did a great job in keeping things neat and tidy. I got a clear explanation of how the kits works and a simple walkthrough the online app. The sparky was highly motivated and keen to help me understand how to get the best results out of the solar panel system.

The whole of the team have been very informative and have been able to answer any questions raised.

The survey was arranged and booked. An install date was arranged and booked. The scaffolders booked in a convenient time a few days ahead of installation.

The surveyor talked us through the original requirements and made alterations to the quote based on actual roof size and occupancy times of the house. Deposit paid.

The installation was completed in two stages. The electrical side was completed in the morning. The electricians were everywhere in the house for a few hours from loft, to garage, to hallway, to roof and garden. The Solis app for the inverter was explained and handed over.

The panels were installed in the afternoon. The roofers were excellent. They even replaced a few broken tiles. The brackets and rails were installed. The panels were lifted and installed in double quick time. Panels connected and bird netting run round. A quick flick of switch on the inverter and solar panels are good to go. The panels started to work immediately and free electricity has arrived. Remaining balance paid.

Scaffolders contacted us a day later and the scaffolding was removed as arranged.

I've been glued to my app watching how much energy has been produced and how much we have consumed. We've been saving every day and greatly reduced our electricity consumption thanks to the system and those long sunny days.

The paperwork has finally arrived and now to apply to the energy company for the SEG payments.

Our solar panels were installed on 7th September. The roofer and electrician, Billy and Billy, did a brilliant job, polite, courteous, helpful and efficient. A job well done.
