AVOID THIS SALON PLEASE!
I was overcharged and very rude, condescending, defensive management when I tried explaining the situation.
I should of stayed away after reading the prior negative views before me.
I attended as a hair model for highlights, I was overcharged and they even took at tip without me initially realising, i found this out when I called the next day to find out how much I should of been charged as I had a feeling I was charged incorrectly.
After completion of my highlights and paying I was told by Sophia who was the colourist supervisor "that doesn't include a tip" when in fact I was in the process of leaving a tip but after being made to feel uncomfortable I decided not to tip given her comment, however despite not consenting to a tip they STILL took a £10 tip without my knowledge untill the next day when I called and enquired about the price I should of been charged.
The next day when I called to speak to the manager I believe her name was Laura she was extremely rude and defensive and did not believe Sofia her colleague mentioned 'tip' I asked them to please look at CCTV and audio for concrete evidence of what was said but this was dismissed. Through the conversation, Laura the manager referred to me as your 'only a model ' I was shocked by this comment and yet again I was made to feel very uncomfortable and belittled for being 'only a model' whilst I was only offering my services for a trainee to learn and having highlights completed
at a reasonable affordable price. Regardless of being a model or a full price paying customer I'm still human with feelings.
I am now waiting for my due monies that is owed to me, as a result of the overpayment this Salon stole from me, let's see if they have any decency in given me my owed monies back.
I am in disablief to have been treated in this manner, no customer should have to endure such a horrible situation.
Customer care in this salon was horfic.
However on a positive note the trainee was very pleasant and polite.
Management should take a leaf from her!
Awful experience
Having moved away 4 years ago, but in the Ruislip area on the 15th of December, I called to have a haircut and was booked for 10.15. I arrived on time but waited 15mn for hair wash. The girl was obviously not trained, she scrubbed my head like crazy, 2 shampoos, scratched me with her long nails, let massive amount of water get into my ears too. Then I was told my cutter would be delayed as she was doing another client’s hair. After strongly reacting, I was given another cutter (her own client would wait…). The cut was ok but I would have expected a commercial gesture of maybe a discount or a product sample, nothing but just a mild apology like sorry at this time of the year, we are very busy! OK but then manage your appointments better. Very disappointed as I highly rated hobs in the past.
Stanmore Hob -Very disappointed in the service
Very disappointed in the service I received when I visited the Stanmore salon on Friday 8th.
Desiree who has now left, gave great customer service whereas Jamiee was the total opposite.
I arrived at 08:57. Did not get seen by her until 09:14. No apologies at all. Having a gown put on me was an after thought from her side. Too busy holding her mobile phone.
I was left there for 9-10 minutes after the 20 mins was up, and the heater turned off. I had to call over another member of staff to go and get her.
Having my hair washed - She expected me to sit on quite a wet chair.
Another staff member dried my hair, very poorly. She told me to brush / comb my own hair. I left with damp hair, and she did not even take my gown from me. Such a horrible experience, especially as Desiree had been doing my hair for over 8 years.
Do not go to this salon, especially Jamiee
I’ve been going to the hob salon in…
I’ve been going to the hob salon in Whetstone for years but not anymore after an awful experience two weeks ago. I went for some pampering and it was very much the opposite. When I made a complaint to customer services via email a week ago, I didn’t even get a response, let alone an acknowledgment. Really poor show hob salons. Doesn’t make your customers feel valued.
Great haircut.
Growing my very kinky, unruly and wavy hair out, so I just had a trim/tidy with Konar at HOB Man Brent Cross yesterday.
He was excellent from beginning to end. Great listening skills, great attention to detail, great service all round.
The measure of a hair dresser/barber is not how well your hair looks on leaving the salon but on how your hair looks the day after when you have washed that. I can say it looks amazing.
Well done Konar and a big thank you. (Hope to be back when my hair looks bad again lol).
The worst customer complaint attitude
Like some of the previous reviews I had the worst experience, in-fact it was traumatic. I have had serious foot injury and subsequent surgery and after 3 months was down in the dumps and was looking to upgrade my hair colour and cut. I had a consultation with a senior colourist and felt we were on the same page. I had asked that I wanted it all done on a Thursday and why I was given consultation with a colourist who didn’t work on Thursday is beyond me. They said it did not make a difference!!!
I spent 31/2 hours in the salon to colour my roots, have highlights put in and cut and blow dry. I spent around £200 pounds!! I had specifically asked for light face framing highlights and definitely not caramel tones.My hair ended up exactly how I didn’t want and the balayage that I had walked in with got ruined!!! At that time I was in agony and thought it will look better in daylight. I was happy with the haircut!!
I was very unhappy with the colour when I viewed it in my own environment and my husband and a friend said it was much darker!!
I rang up to inform that I wasn’t happy. I was told to wash it and it will lighten up!!!! I insisted I needed to come in and have some correction done!!
What happened next was highly unprofessional from a salon which charges top west end salon prices!! One feels the minute you complain everyone becomes defensive and confrontational! They have miscommunication in that place. I was accused of not turning up on time and they couldn’t fit me in!! They were wrong on that count.
When I went in I felt most uncomfortable as they were all standing there watching looking at each other, rolling eyes, sniggering and I had to tell them there was not a show going on. It was a Monday afternoon and not busy at all.
They were still insistent the colour was fine and it will fade. They gave my hair a good wash and rough dry and that was the solution. Nobody was prepared to listen! I am a 67 year professional and I have worked in medical field and handled complaints. The whole experience left me with a very high blood pressure, a stress rash which I showed them, my foot in agony as I still haven’t recovered and walk with a boot! Instead of showing any empathy or kindness or even a solution they did not want to listen, and were extremely rude. They accused me of being rude and said they had captured it all on CCTV. My rudeness was in response to their attitude and making me feel like I was being a nuisance! I have never heard of such CCTV threats and after washing my hair and a rough dry they asked me to leave.
Please please avoid this place at all cost. They have not got the trained staff or creativity they once had and their customer handling is appalling for this day and age!!

I went into the salon and received a colour correction, my hair looked black which completely washed me out.
Now I am a lovely brown looking so much more natural.

Very poor haircut, uncooperative hairdresser
The senior hair stylist gave a Bob cut with uneven edges. Saw the picture, agreed that she understood what was required and finished in the most uneven cut with an entirely different style. If one was to hold the hair and run the scissors roughly, would still be better that the haircut received. Will not recommend at all.
Disaster!
Unfortunately I have not had a great first (and last) experience with this salon.
I had a very friendly consultation with one stylist, which later changed due to me having to rearrange the appointment.
I wanted (almost) black and blonde highlights, but ended up with a lot of jet black with grey and purple highlights. It literally added 10 years to my 38 years. I was devastated and my husband was horrified.
After getting home and looking at it properly I could see the colour was sloppy, uneven and in general just awful. And it wasn't until later that my husband pointed out that the back of my neck was still covered in black dye, which hadn't been washed off. I have photos, but unfortunately not able to add them to this review.
Definitely not worth the almost £200 I was charged for the (dis)pleasure.
I called up immediately letting them know I needed it to be corrected and was allocated an appointment for in two days.
When I arrived today and spoke with the same stylist she initially tried to tell me it was the black mixing in making it look grey/purple. I told her no, it WAS grey/purple. After she agreed that it looked purple and applied a correction toner. Eventually, after two different applications, it was improved. But by far from perfect and still an array of different shades. At this point I said it was fine and left.
To be honest I am extremely disappointed with the whole experience. I expected a much higher standard.

After having read positive reviews about Jasmine I couldn’t wait to get my hair cut by her. She didnt dissapint. It’s the best hair cut I’ve had. Jasmine is just so lovely, warm, friendly and welcoming. She listened to what I wanted and Im so happy with my hair cut as it’s just what I wanted. Jasmin is a perfectionist.
I would highly recommend Jasmin and HOBB Salon Northwood and I will certainly be back. Thank you Jasmine.
