Very well organised
Very well organised, friendly host. Myself and my partner are experienced ghosthunting addicts and the venue did not disappoint. We caught on camera the sensor lights on the stairs going off in sequence, indicating that something had triggered them. My partner was stood at the bottom of the stairs as this happened, his back to the camera. Something unseen pulled his tshirt to the side, folded it inwards and then went past him behind, rippling the fabric.
Group of 10, only 4 of us stayed the full night in the end.
Great range of equipment to use, emfs, catballs, estes method etc and several of us using apps such as Spirit talker etc consistently got the same results.
House doesn't have a horrible atmosphere at all, just smells a bit fusty due to no one living in it.
Would definitely stay there again. Very reasonable price.
Also go check out Pontefract Castle too. We had a couple of hours to spare before our train so went for a walk around it. Free to enter, and a lovely place.

Gresley Old Hall
We had a fantastic night at Gresley Old Hall. There was a lot of things going on and the fact that there was a storm outside with high winds and at times, torrential rain only added to the atmosphere.
We had Kai and Tracey hosting and they were fantastic, they gave us no information about the Hall, which was great as there was no outside influence or expectations making the experience authentic.
We would love to book again and maybe do an overnight stay with Kai and Tracey in one of your locations.
All in all,it was a great night.

Awesome night at Bolling Hall in…
Awesome night at Bolling Hall in Bradford last night with the incredible guys from Haunted Houses Events Ltd, it was quite an active night, we were split up into three groups and each held our own vigils for around a hour at a time in different areas in the 14th century grade 1 listed building, with tea breaks in between, (refreshments were supplied) the team are very knowledgeable and have lots of different pieces of equipment for people to use, we had activity setting off k2 and rampods, the table tipping was awesome! Later we had the chance to explore the building by ourselves which was great, my husband and I sat in the kitchen with K2 and rampod and had some interaction on both devices simultaneously. Brilliant!! Highly recommended. Thank you guys for a fantastic night.

Great experience
This was our first experience, we went to four crosses on 20th September and we had a great time! The staff/hosts were brilliant, very welcoming, make you feel instantly comfortable no judgement and also honest so the experience is very much so what you make of it. We had a great group , laughs were had , we had activity which was cool to experience, I loved that we had the opportunity to use the equipment for some free time to experience things on your own. Although we tried to sleep over but chickened out at 3:30am and decided to go home we had so much fun and will definitely book again and hopefully stay until morning 🤣

Disappointed to leave a bad review. Sorry
I attended the Skirrid Inn event on Saturday 20th September and sadly it didn’t live up to expectations.
The evening began with a meal, which was fine, but the hosts left the group during it along with a regular customer. This felt odd not to stay and interact with guests. The ‘regular’ later spent much of the evening interrupting the hosts, to the point where many of us thought he was actually part of the team.
During the welcome speech, we were told it wasn’t a history lesson, which I didn’t expect it to be, but I would have thought a brief explanation of the rooms (what they were used for previously ) would have been helpful and set the scene. One lady asked one of the hosts about the noose placement and was quickly brushed off and ignored.
We were in group 2, unfortunately a family of three dominated from start to finish. They spoke over everyone, asked questions non-stop, no one could get a word in edgeways, let alone spirits.
If any one else voiced they saw something, they would talk over them, the conversation would always navigate back to them, mainly the mother and daughter.
The host ‘Dee’ didn’t step in to manage them, which left the rest of us sidelined. When we attempted spirit communication downstairs, most responses seemed to come through the ‘regular’s’ app on his phone, the female spirit we ‘connected’ with actually named another lady in the group and wanted to share her story only with her. We will call her ‘I’. She was a very quiet lady and I would have loved to see why the spirit mentioned her.
It was decided to try the ouija board ‘I’, the regular, and the family of three were the only ones who took part. Although ‘I’ was included, she didn’t get the chance to say a word, the family bombarded the board with questions, often over each other, not giving spirits time to respond, while the regular joined in.
The host eventually told them to slow down, the male from the family’s mother came through and that was lovely to witness. Then the whole session was over.
I assumed we would take turns as we had all paid to be there but the board was packed away and no chance or offer given.
We had a quick break and contemplated leaving early and others felt the same. It’s not a cheap night and we hoped things would turn around.
Upstairs in the Judge’s Room, one quieter person from group finally had a go with the headphone experiment, but once again the family of three talked over everyone. At one point they even overshared personal details that felt completely out of place, if eyes were not on them, they made sure they were, even voicing having period cramps and pains multiple times. Which is just bizarre. Their behaviour showed no respect for anyone to be honest, even each other at times.
At the debrief, it was clear group 1 had a far better night. They investigated more rooms, all three upstairs whereas we only went into one. Took part in extra experiments like the human pendulum, and had a knowledgeable host (Stacey) who kept things structured. Many of us wished we had been in her group instead, they communicated with more spirits and seemed to have a positive experience.
Overall, I left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and honestly a little cheated. The Skirrid Inn is a fascinating venue with so much potential, but the evening was dominated by the regular and the family of three, while the host failed to manage the group or give everyone a fair chance. Unless things change, I wouldn’t recommend this event.

Hi kit, thank you for your reply, I’d like to clarify a few points regarding our experience.
There was indeed a quieter couple who mostly observed, I doubt this was through choice (they were not given the opportunity to participate) Aside from them everybody else wanted to take part in the experiments, unfortunately, there was no effort made to ensure this happened.
As you were not present you can only respond from the hosts prospective, but from a guests viewpoint the situation was frustrating. Other paying participants shouldn’t have to raise their voices to be heard over others who dominate every activity. This created an uncomfortable atmosphere, it was disappointing the behaviour was not addressed, apart from a single reminder to slow down during the ouija board session.
To be candid, the hosting from Group 2 came across as disengaged and uninterested, giving the impression that guest experience was not a priority. During the meal break, the hosts were absent for over an hour, which was noticeably longer than the “brief” absence you referred to.
For clarity, my comments are not directed at both hosts.
From conversations afterwards, I know at least 4, possibly up to 6 out of the 10 in group 2 shared my dissatisfaction.

I completely appreciate how disappointing it must have been to leave the event feeling frustrated. Our hosts always aim to create a balance of structure and free investigation, but I recognise from your comments that this balance did not meet your expectations on this occasion.
Having spoken with your host, I understand that everyone was encouraged to take part, though some guests preferred to observe. At times this can mean more confident voices come forward, and while the team did step in, I accept it may not have felt enough from your perspective.
You also mention a guest who was particularly active during the evening. To clarify, this person was attending purely as a paying guest. They are known for joining paranormal events with various third-party companies, but they are not connected to Haunted Houses Events in any way. While they were enthusiastic in sharing their own methods, our hosts continued to encourage equal involvement from everyone present.
On the specific question about the rope, I understand this was asked after the meal as the group were moving upstairs. The host’s intention was to highlight that our events are focused on live investigation rather than formal history talks, and to encourage guests to explore such curiosities through the spirit communication itself. That said, I accept this may not have come across as clearly as intended, and we’ll reflect on how we can acknowledge such questions in a way that feels more satisfying in the moment.
You also noted that your group covered fewer rooms than another. The reason for this was that your group were experiencing activity in the spaces you were in, so the hosts allowed this to continue rather than move on prematurely. Even so, I take on board that this may have left the evening feeling uneven compared to what you heard from others.
Finally, I’d like to reassure you that your hosts were present and available throughout. During the meal they briefly stepped away, as the restaurant is managed by its own staff and our team would otherwise be standing idle amongst diners. They remained close by and made it clear they were available should anyone need them.
Your feedback is invaluable and we will reflect carefully on how we manage group dynamics and pacing, to ensure everyone feels equally included.
I’m sorry this experience did not meet your hopes, and I do hope you might consider joining us again, as your comments genuinely help us refine what we do.

Wymering Manor
A spooky and atmospheric ghost hunt hosted at Wymering Manor. This was my second ghost hunt, and in my personal opinion a much more memorable one.
Alongside other family members of mine, we explored the crevasses and dark damp corners of Wymering Manor with our excellent hosts, who did not put any pressure on us when it came to exploring and communicating with the possible inhabitants of the house.
Basic refreshments were available including tea, coffee and other hot drinks as well as fruit juice.
In group one, we were taken around by one of our four hosts, Ethan. Ethan had a calm presence and did not seem to be phased by much during the evening/night/morning, even despite some tapping, banging and use of professional equipment which seemed to react heavily when attempting to communicate with the other side.
The night was filled with laughter, seriousness, scepticalness and everyone in our group seemed to get along well together which led to also talking about past experiences as well.
We shall certainly be doing another one of these in the future, as I believe that our hosts were truly down to earth and genuinely nice people who do this out of their own curiosity and eagerness, which made it even more worth the while.

Wymering manor - great experience.
My husband and I have just experienced our first ghost hunt at Wymering manor .
We didn't really know what to expect but the hosts made everyone welcome and at ease with what the evening entailed. I liked that we were were split into smaller groups and we were given the option to partake in vigils and activities. I really enjoyed table tipping and glass divination as we experienced some strange phenomena.
Our group was led by Clare and Sonia who were great at getting up the groups energy and helping us to have the best experience, so huge thanks to them.
This was a great experience and we will be sure to book another one soon.

Had an excellent night at The Four Crosses 29/08/2025! Laura and Cassie were fab hosts and we had a great night with endless laughs and plenty of activity! Laura made a group of strangers feel extremely comfortable around each other making the night much more fun!
Would definitely recommend Haunted Houses events! It was excellent! It is your night and the hosts give you the decisions of how you want to spend your night! Absolutely brilliant location to!
