I can say with confidence my experience working at Hammond Cars will be one to remember for all the wrong reasons.
The cars have too many issues to list with some not being able to be started or moved, and the treatment by some of the individuals is atrocious.
Particularly Peter Trigg Dudley who genuinely has amazed me as to how incapable and disrespectful someone can be towards his staff. His behaviour was highly unprofessional along with all the scrutinising, belittling and making you feel worthless and you need hand-holding to do your job. I would never dream of buying a car from here.
The management is appalling.

We made efforts to address your concerns and discuss expectations with you directly. However, it became clear that there was a mismatch between the requirements of the role and your expectations, alongside a breakdown in the working relationship. Following careful consideration, a decision was made to bring your employment to an end in line with company procedures.

We do not recognise the characterisation of our management team as described. We are committed to maintaining a professional and respectful workplace, and any concerns of this nature are taken seriously.

As this is a public platform, it would not be appropriate to go into further detail, but we wish you the best moving forward.

Don't judge people

Car sales as it should be.

I have used Hammonds before and I received such good service that when I was ready for a new to me car and saw that Hammonds had just what I wanted I did not hesitate to visit them again. Ollie the salesman who greeted me made me a tea and explained the process was friendly, efficient and explained everything to my satisfaction. I was offered a test drive but it is manic around the Longwater business park so I declined but sat in and started the car up.
The car was ready for me the same day but I visited the following day to collect. The price was very reasonable, there was enough fuel in it to get home unlike many car dealers. There were no hidden charges or admin fee so the screen price was exactly what you pay. I will certainly return when or if I am ready for another car. Great service from start to finish and it was all done in a relaxed atmosphere no pushy salespeople. Highly recommended.

Do not sell them your car

Absolutely awful experience with these charlatans after selling them a 3 year old Ford Puma via Motorway.co.uk. At auction we received a bit less than we were wanting, but it was fine, we accepted and were completely honest with any cosmetic issues. They arranged the AA to inspect the car, no issues, pointed out the front tyres would need replacing before its MOT in 4/5 months time, but that shouldn't be a shock to them due to the photos I had provided, mileage and age of the car. Other than that it was "immaculate". This inspection was done on a Friday afternoon, the following Tues we get confirmation of the car being collected the next day (Wednesday) 2 hours!!!!! before the collection driver was due to arrive, Hammond Motors phoned - apparently they've just got round to reading the report from the AA (how convenient), they needed to revise the offer and drop it by £190 to cover the tyres, that were still legal. Now backed into a corner, another finance payment due in less than a week we really had no choice but to accept. So if you buy a blue 23 plate Ford Puma ST Line X, make sure it's got a new pair of Continentals on them and if your car is bought by them via motorway/Carwow....cancel the sale. It's not worth the stress.

Buying cars of Hammond's.

I had a very positive experience purchasing my car of Hammond's in Ipswich. Staff are helpful and friendly. Stan helped me to choose my car. I was a bit nervous during the paper work, it was my first car purchase, but Stan made the whole experience very easy. We bought 2 cars of them in a week. After sales team were very helpful too, Lloyd helped us to arrange for an after care. I would definitely recommend visiting Hammond's if you're looking into buying a car, they have a big range, plenty of paper works, things are done professionally.

Service from Kurtis was great.

Service from Kurtis was great would have been 5 star but somehow the fact that the MOT had run out was missed and I had to make a second trip of 60 miles to pick up the car

Great staff

I had a very good experience with this dealership, especially thanks to the manager (Philp). From the start, I was treated with great attention and professionalism, and the manager made sure I felt comfortable and well informed throughout the process. Although I initially had to visit multiple times because the car was not ready for a test drive, the situation was handled politely and professionally. Once everything was arranged, the experience was very positive. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable, answering all my questions without any pressure. Unfortunately, I could not proceed with the purchase due to the interest rate and the available color options. However, I truly appreciated the excellent customer service and would happily recommend this dealership to others.

Excellent experience all-round

Excellent experience all-round. The car was exactly as described, had been cleaned and was at a good price. Staff were kind and welcoming; Ethan was very helpful on my first visit to see and test-drive the car, and George made the rest of the buying process straightforward and relaxed.

After calling into the showroom and looking at number of cars. We decided on one called Jayden, who was really helpful and we arranged a collection date. He even came in on his day off to finalise everything, even polishing the car

Overall very helpful and informative

Overall very helpful and informative. Would have given a higher score had the electric vehicle we purchased been charged up more. We were told that it wasn't due to the number of e cars they had but as they knew for two days that we would be picking up the car on the Saturday it would have been nice to have had a bigger charge - especially as we are new to e vehicle ownership and need to get familiar with charging arrangements.

Fantastic Service

After having an awful experience with Cinch we visited Hammonds Norwich to look at buying a new car. We cannot praise the experience highly enough. Walking around the forecourt you can view all the available cars with a QR code for more details and a key number.

Upon entering the cabin/showroom we were attended to by Will who was extremely helpful in arranging test drive of a couple of vehicles. We were told that most cars are “ready to go” which was exactly what we needed.

We were in the showroom in total for 4 hours but this was a positive than a con. It meant we ensured the car was right for us, we were given time to go back and make sure it was right for us, have private discussions about the vehicle and finance etc.

Both Will and Jamie were super helpful, patient and helped reassure us after our awful experience with Cinch.

We have ended up with a car we love and would recommend Hammonds to anyone that would ask!
