The company Guardsmen is not professional or honorable. Very poor at fulfilling their responsibilities.

I was told all my documents were in order. Then I was told I will be hearing from a technician. Waited for a call and I had to call Guardsman back spoke to another customer service representative who did not understand why we had heard back and the technician will reach out to set up an appointment.
Instead of hearing from the technician I received an email from the company stating they were denying my claim. SCAM.
The most unprofessional and worst…
The most dishonest, unprofessional and worst company ever. I took accidental damage cover (for 5 years) for a Sofa that I purchased from DFS. I had clearly mentioned that I have a daughter who keeps on jumping on the sofa so it's worth take the cover while purchasing the sofa. They also agreed on this and recommended me to take the accidental damage cover. When the actual damage happened, and I contacted Guardsman, they took nearly a year to come up with the negative outcome stating that the accidental damage has occurred over a period of time. This is really disappointing and frustrating. I have paid for the cover and I don't get any coverage when I need! I will never ever recommend anyone to first of all buy any sofa or any products from DFS and then take any such cover hoping that the trash company like Guardsman will repair any damage occurred.

I got refund after I did data access request for all calls and data relating to my dealings proving my case. Challenge them on everything and question till you get a response. It's your entitlement to answer's and all data.
They hope you give up and most people do but persevere.

In my opinion this is a very dishonest company.
They were experiencing issues with their website when I went to file a claim. None of the claim categories for the type of stain that we experienced (dirt from the bottom of a shoe) were working -- in other words, I could not submit a claim. The only category that would work was "bodily oil", which it was not, but I was told when I purchased my policy from Ethan Allen that "everything is covered" so I went ahead and filed to get this item off my to do list.
10 days later I received an email that my claim was denied. I filed again under the correct soil category. My claim was denied a second time.
I appealed the second denial and explained the situation... again they denied my claim for a third time.
I will NEVER purchase another Guardsman policy again.
I recommend you also do not entrust your business to this company. Shady way to handle businesses. Now that I see all of the other 1 star reviews I wish I had done my research first. Hope this helps you!

Today is 1/27/24. My recliner has been broken since November. The technician for Guardsman has been out here and I have heard nothing. Their customer service is not helpful. This is 100% not worth the money
Not worth the headache - go to another supplier.
Horrible service. Made me turn a large lounge, inside-out looking for an ID tag whilst heavily pregnant and alone, for a response of "it shouldn't be a problem us not needing it". I told them prior that I was heavily pregnant with a husband off-shore with work, and still, made me do it. I raised that this was unfair and there was no response, no remorse, nothing. Thanks Elizabeth for your consistent failure to provide adequate customer service and undue stress on my body.
Every single claim you put in, is very typical of an insurance company and try to get out of any little thing. This includes, you sending specific and clear images, not writing it directly and them missing it, and blaming you for not informing them. Example, sent photos of the lounge panel, they only put the seating cushions and it was missed because I said "the lounge needs a clean".
Once you make a claim (even if you have previously made a claim and sent a whole photo before), you need to send a new photo of the lounge in it's entirety. Furthermore, I clearly indicate what it is, such as dirty marks - "dirty marks" doesn't specify that it is dirt apparently, so I was required to write back to them after their 3-7 day turn-around for response timeframe, to let them know that dirty marks means dirt.
Note, you must say the damage to your lounge in less than 5 days old otherwise they won't over it. Make sure you say this and save the hassle of fighting with them. No general cleans, no general marks (build up) is accepted. Spot cleaning only is accepted, and within 5 days of damage being done.

My electric chair is 2 years old and part of the frame is broken. I submitted the claim and 2 weeks later received a rejection claim with no details as to why. I called customer service to discuss why. The reason was the claim was not made within 30 days from the damage. I was 14 days over their standard.
I argued and got no where. As I was unaware of a 30 day time limit. They were of no help and no one sits in the semi broken chair.
Haverty’s should not promote this company. Do not waste your time and money on Guardsman Protection Plan - they do not protect or help in any way!!

They don’t answer their phones
We’ve been trying to get ahold of them for days. Calling them is a complete joke. My husband was on hold for hours and then was hung up on. It’s easier to get ahold of Unemployment or the IRS! This plan is a total scam. Don’t waste your money.

The Claim Rejection Rate is close to 100% and I am pretty sure they are not a genuine insurance company and on top of that, the customer service agents are extremely rude. Makes you rue the day you decided to buy their insurance in the first place.

I have a leather electric recliner that doesn't work. I have a warranty with gaurdsman.com. I made a claim. I don't get calls from them to fix my chair. I call them days after filling out their forms electronically and their system hangs up on me.
I paid for a warranty that doesn't fix the problem.
Absolutely terrible company
Absolutely terrible company. I bought the 5-Year Elite Complete Furniture Protection plan which comes with a long list of what is not included. Be prepared to wait 2+ hours on hold, and then at 2:00 pm they tell you to call back tomorrow and end the call so start early in the morning if you hope to get through. Which is a joke because you’re problem will probably be one of the 40+ issues they don’t cover and they will not elevate the call to a manager. I am so angry at Guardsman and at Berks Furniture for pushing this as a great plan.
legal action?
Has anyone pursued legal action against Guardsman? I own 8 Ethan Allen chairs, and after calling Guardsman about food stains, they sent Jim to clean them. Now, 3 cushions are yellow, and 5 are normal. Despite contacting Guardsman multiple times, no resolution. Ethan Allen estimates a $500 fix, so I'm considering taking Guardsman to court for the damage they caused. Interestingly, I recently bought more furniture from Ethan Allen, but I'm canceling the Guardsman policy for the new items.

Don't waste your money with a warranty with them. We bought a $10,000 bed and within 3 1/2 years the motor went out and they have denied our claim with our 5 year warranty. They said we did not call them as soon as it broke. We placed multiple calls without any returned response and filed a claim via on-line with no response as well. This company hides under an organization know as Amynta. so you can't write reviews on google for Guardsman. They are scammers and commit fraud. We will now be getting our lawyers involved.

We put in a claim to them in October 2023 didn’t hear from them for a month finally made a appointment for technician which twice he missed coming finally in December technician showed up said frame of recliner was messed up need to replace so he turned it in told us would be couple weeks it’s been 3 weeks get email will take 30 to 45 days to review claim so looking for it to be another month and a half before they even look at it in meantime we are dealing with a defective recliner this warranty is not worth the paper it’s wrote on so do not let the furniture companies tell you how good it is the price is too high for mediocre coverage all we want is our chair fixed
Poor Customer Service & Experience
Don’t expect to hear back for a couple months after submitting a claim. They give you the classic we are experiencing higher than normal volumes crap when you call in. Was on hold for 30 minutes after being transferred to reconciliation team just for someone to pick up and hang up the phone. After calling back, was then told by a representative that they can’t teams message or contact the correct department and all I could do is call back or be transferred again and that hopefully they don’t hang up on me. Guardsman, if you can’t support the volume of claims either break the constraint or stop taking new customers. Don’t buy this warranty plan, not worth it.

This company is the biggest scam and does not cover much of anything. Do not pay your money to these criminals. I paid them $600 to protect my leather sectional, a $6000 couch. The couch stained in several sections. I submitted a claim that was declined. I am living and want my money back.
