We originally looked at Elfsight for displaying our Google reviews, but GR Widget ended up being a much better fit for what we wanted.

The biggest difference for me is that GR Widget feels like it has been built specifically around Google reviews rather than being one widget inside a much larger collection of tools. There is much more freedom over how the reviews actually look on the website, and the customisation goes far beyond just changing a couple of colours.

The layout choice is one of the things that really stood out. As well as the more traditional sliders, grids and rating badges, there are some genuinely different ways of presenting reviews. The Photo Spotlight layout is particularly good because it actually makes use of the photos customers have added to their Google reviews rather than treating every review as another identical text card. I also really like the Review Ribbon. They feel like proper design options rather than slight variations of the same widget, and I haven't seen equivalent styles in the other major review-widget platforms I've looked at.

Pricing was another reason we preferred GR Widget. With Elfsight, the number of widget views is tied to the plan, so increased website traffic can eventually mean needing to move up a plan. GR Widget doesn't have view limits, which makes the cost much easier to predict. We can choose a plan based on the features we actually need rather than worrying about how many people visit the website each month.

For us, it works out as better value while also giving us more control over the finished result. The widgets can be styled properly to match the website, there are more interesting layouts to choose from, and we're not penalised just because the site gets more traffic.

If you're looking at Elfsight mainly for its Google Reviews widget, I'd definitely recommend comparing GR Widget before deciding. We did, and for our website GR Widget was the better solution.
