We ordered our Christmas meat in early December. The order was taken and cancelled a week later, with the Great British Meat Co seemingly blaming DPD, the delivery service. We were informed by an email which I actually found in my spam folder. Firstly Great British Meat Co., take responsibility for your mistakes and don't blame other services that you employ and secondly for something as critical and important as Christmas Meat, ensure that your customers are aware of the cancellation.

They had to cancel my order due to an inability to deliver.

Disappointed about the short notice of having my Christmas order cancelled. It was due for delivery on Thurs 22 Dec so checked my email today (21 Dec) to make sure that everything was good. No email for today so looked further back in my inbox to discover an email on Monday notifying me of the cancelation. While I understand the reasons why (knock on effect of Royal Mail strike) it still leaves me with a big problem.

We have had excellent service from GBM Co for many years and this won't put me off using them in future. This problem is a reflection on how this country is going to the dogs thanks to decisions taken by our wonderful Government.

I hope that I can find a forerib of beef on the bone locally to replace the one that I'd ordered. Frankly I can't stand turkey and was looking forward to doing as I usual do on Christmas day, cooking the beef on my Weber Master Touch charcoal BBQ. Fingers crossed!

Would never use anybody else

Christmas order cancelled just a couple of days before delivery due. Disappointed. Last year order was missing items. Not 100% reliable.

I’ve used Great British Meat company on several occasions, my Christmas meat hamper was cancelled yesterday and while I appreciate they had to come to this decision, I now have limited time and funds to source meat for Xmas, refund states it could take around 5 days so I’m pretty stuffed, no meat, no cash!

Cancelled order 10 days before Christmas blaming 1st stock shortage and then Royal Mail / courrier service. Fortunately found another company who could fulfill order without any excuses.

Brilliant company. Great communication and always a fantastic meat for any occasion.

Had my order cancelled today, am I severely annoyed about it, yes as I was seriously looking forward to the Christmas dinner. This isn’t GBM’s fault, I will not be leaving them at all, their decision to cancel the orders and not dice it, is excellent. I’d rather not get it and have time to sort something local instead of it being late and I find out it’s all warm and oh no, nothing for Christmas dinner. This is all a Royal Mail fiasco, anybody complaining and giving a 1 star, get a reality check as unfortunately isolated things like this happen but it sure doesn’t represent the excellence I have always got from GBM.

Just cancelled my Christmas meat order as can’t get delivery for my order great will not use again

Email send out Christmas week informing no longer able to deliver Christmas meat when ordered months ago. I understand that there are delivery pressures but a few days notice is terrible when most butchers order books are now closed.

Cancelled the Christmas food order the week of Christmas, leaving no time to find replacements as everyone is out of stock.

Cancelled my Christmas order 3 days before delivery and said it will take 3 -5 working days for a refund. Whilst I get that it was a problem with dpd and out of their hands, they knew about the problem a while ago and could have given more notice.

The company cancelled our xmas order leaving us in the lurch.

Back to using Muscle food from now on......

Let down with delivery and cancelled orderd for Christmas.
Did give a full refund but would of been better finding other delivery option

My order was cancelled a week before Christmas, making it very difficult to arrange an alternative. They’re saying it’s a postal issue, but they must surely have been able to find an alternative?

Cancelled my order. Now I have to scour suppliers in the last week before Christmas. I just didn’t need this stress.

They cancelled my order the weekend before Christmas, not helpful when all the beef and Turkey seems to be sold out. However, I went to another online butcher I use that day, ordered the meat and had it within two days. It is now sitting in the freezer waiting for the big day.

Interestingly they use the same delivery people and seemed to have no issues getting my meat delivered in two days. Go figure.
