18th Birthday on the Quayside, Newcastle
Took our daughter to Gino's on the Quayside in Newcastle for her 18th. A fantastic restaurant; great vibe and delicious food. They had a great selection of wines too (probably too good). I want to give a shout out to the staff, who did a very in-tune rendition of "happy birthday" which was a lovely touch. Particular thanks to our waiter - Stefano - what a great ambassador for the restaurant; great service and very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. I would 100% recommend Gino's and if you can make sure you book a table when Stefano is working and ask for him personally. You will not be disappointed.
World class at a reasonable price.

Regularly visited her with the girls, staff are lovely
Lovely food, venue and outside area
Lovely venue and outside area amazing over looking the Tyne. Went to celebrate daughters graduation. Can't complain about food. Really well cooked and presented. Staff very attentive. Had minor issue where one of four meals served a lot earlier than rest. When rest came out around 10 mins later and one cold as waiting to start, staff dealt with issue with no fuss and took this meal off bill. Lovely atmosphere. Would definitely go back and recommend.

Visited the restaurant at The Springs Leeds. Food was very good and service was excellent, especially the server Enrico. Would definitely visit again.
Great Food
We visited Gino's in Birmingham and had a great experience. The food and the service were exceptional.
I was in hull excellent service at the…bar service great too very helpful in cocktails and great people service not the best food gorgeous
I was in hull excellent service at the bar cocktails out this world food great to service not the best but very nice friendly
Newcastle
Today we visited the restaurant in Newcastle. I was absolutely expecting much more …… if mr Ramsay was to visit he would be saying the service was sh***.
The food was nice, I’ll be honest I have had as nice in other Italians.
We ran out of drinks, no one offered us more! Had to send an underdone steak back,… still waiting on an apology.
We watched folks outside not be served and leave, overall would not rush back.
Tut! Tut!
What a shame, we love you Gino but if Gordon paid this restaurant a visit he wouldn’t be pleased!
The food was ok. staff? A mixture of professional with manners to some very inexperienced with lots to learn. Sad to see staff take a cigarette break in full view of diners. Cutlery could do with drying and a good buff when it has left the dishwasher. The table? Yes, difficult to clean, I get that as, it was best suited to an outdoor setting being wood but not pleasant to eat at with the remains/ greasy marks of a previous diner 😕 disappointed as this is not portrayed in any of the great TV shows we see Gino in, did not expect this at all. Will be sticking to consistently excellent nearby Sancton, sorry.
Hull restaurant
Visited the hull restaurant today for lunch. We were well looked after by our waitress Daniela, food was good but slightly on the pricy side. Lovely outside dining area.
Go elsewhere
Birmingham Restaurant.
Firstly have to say the waiter we had was good. But when you go to a restaurant it is for the food. And i have to say the food was below the 1 star rating. Enough said. Go elsewhere.
Worst Italian good ever !
2nd time I visited a Gino restaurant given them the benefit of doubt after my first visit in Harrogate. Sadly the food in Newcastle was even worse
I can’t remember the last time I tasted Italian good that bad. The spaghetti carbonara was the worst ever no flavour and certainly never seen an egg yolk
Wish we hasn't chosen Gino's
Newcastle Quayside Restaurant
I really dislike leaving negative reviews but this platform has to be fair and balanced and sadly we were let down in so many ways that it needs to be shared. This was the first time we'd been out as a group of friends for a meal since March last year so we were really excited about it. We chose this restaurant because we respect Gino himself and thought we could trust a brand with his name on it.
I ordered the calamari starter as this is something I really like and I know the difference between a good and bad dish. Sadly it was terrible; it was like biting into an elastic band and it actually "twanged" my lip at one point. It left a greasy texture on my palate too, very unpleasant.
After about 40 minutes had elapsed with no main course meals arriving I spoke to the lady who had served us (she was excellent throughout by the way) and she explained that our order hadn't made it to the kitchen and that she was chasing it up. They eventually arrived after about an hour in total. My friend had the fish skewers which arrived luke warm, the calamari aspect was the same poor quality as mine and overall he thought it was quite bland. My wife had chicken with a "sauce" which looked like coloured water splashing around the plate and my other friend has a steak which, again, was barely warm with a tiny portion of sauce which was inadequate in size for the steak. I had the cheeseburger and although not hot, it was really tasty.
We decided to try deserts to try to finish the night on a positive. Me and my wife had tiramisu, our friends had the creme brulee and a affogato.
The tiramisu looked like something you'd buy from a local supermarket and we doubted it had been prepared on site. It was dry and one dimensional in flavour and texture. Tiramisu should have a moisture from the coffee, and different levels of flavour from the other ingredients but this was a solid block of blandness.
The creme brulee was also quite bland with a minimal amount of caramelised sugar on top so it just tasted like a basic custard.
It was our friend's first time having affogato which my wife had recommended but he said the coffee aspect was very weak and had no impact on the flavour of the dish, instead he ended up with melted watery ice cream which he didn't enjoy.
It probably won't seem it from the above review but we are really easy going, tolerant and forgiving people and this type of review is not the norm for us but it's necessary to help you form your own opinion when considering Ginos.
We asked to speak to a manager about it (i've never done that in my life before) and after a long wait, Donald walked up to the table with his arms crossed, showing quite poor body language and he wore his mask under his nose which made us very uncomfortable!
My wife and I started to politely explain the problems we had had and he kept on interrupting us to the extent that I pointed it out firmly and asked if he would let me finish. I find that interrupting someone, as Donald did, is an indication that they aren't actually interested in listening, instead eager to get their point across.
We had had mixed messages during the evening. Our order hadn't got to the kitchen, they were 2 chefs down and the delays were due to unexpected walk ins. Different staff said different things and contradicted each other to the extent that we'd had enough and just wanted to leave.
As we were in the process of getting the bill we met the General Manager, Fernando. It was actually refreshing speaking to him as he didn't try to make excuses for our evening. He explained that if we came back another day then he would personally ensure that we had a perfect evening. However, not only would we be reluctant to return to the restaurant because of our experience, it would also not be a reality financially. We are not wealthy people and this visit was a special treat following lockdown. We couldn't justify another £200 bill even if the re-visit did go well.
Kindly and unexpectedly Fernando took our bill off us and drastically reduced it as an apology. It was welcome and appreciated but hadn't been our intention by speaking to him.
I would like the restaurant to take this review and learn from the mistakes being made. I think that if Gino had been sat down to and served that meal in the circumstances we were, he would not want his name linked to it.
I genuinely wish you the best for the future but you need to improve.

Where do I start.....a visit to the Harrogate restaurant literally left a bad taste in my mouth.
A number of items were unavailable and settled on garlic bread and lasagne which you'd thought would be a relatively easy win, but no - the garlic bread tasted like the smell of an ashtray filled with used cigarette ends. The lasagne arrived, and was reminiscent of a cheap student microwave meal.
On a plus note, the small bottle of coca-cola tasted fine!
Around £60 for a shockingly terrible meal - If I was Gino, I'd be concentrating on the restaurants providing quality meals to the expected standard, rather than prancing around on second rate TV shows.
Dont waste your money...
Was really disappointed ..was expecting fresh good Italian food. Firstly tables were sticky...even after we asked for ours to be cleaned it was still sticky. Anyway the food was the main issue....dont know what has gone wrong but if Gordon Ramsay went to eat there it would be embarrassing for Gino. Gino may want to go and have a meal in his restaurant and have a word if hes promoting himself all over telly with his excellent food as it's not. Sorry chefs but the pasta was not fresh..or it was overcooked ...the ravioli looked sloppy ....if I was Gino I'd be embarrassed. Sorry.
Food was of extremely poor quality
Food was of extremely poor quality. Sea bass was greasy and cold, and tomato and olives were cold and greasy. We has 2 lasagnes, one was nice but one was white pale uncooked with no meat filling.
Dessert of chocolate fondant was straight out of the freezer, cold and solid. waitress was not quite rude but not quite friendly either. Wine waiter was incredibly rude, having asked us to taste the wine and we said yes, he then just filled our glasses nearly to the top and then did not come back to fill our glasses again.
Really unpleasant experience.
Poor experience with night club volume level music
Poor , we went to Gino my restaurant Birmingham last night , the music was so loud you felt as if you were in a nightclub , everyone was saying how loud it was , you could not hear anything any waiter said to you over the music, service poor , we ordered a second bottle of wine I had to remind the waiter 3 times it eventually came after we had eaten out main course , we were given a dessert menu , we all wanted one but no one ever came back to take our order , the food was delicious , but to be honest I could not recommend the restaurant to anyone , I have had a wonderful meal in the Manchester restaurant with brilliant service and only back ground noise , such a shame about the Birmingham restaurant
Great service
Recent visit to Leeds restaurant, fab service from Sophie, she made our evening very special. The food matched the service and we will most definitely be returning. Also Ylenia our waitress, very attentive. Great place, great food and excellent staff !
