Beautiful redesigned pendant
I went into Gems wanting to redesign an old ruby pendant that my mother gave me. The staff were so helpful with understanding exactly what I wanted and they created such a beautiful bespoke piece for me. I’m so happy with my new pendant and I’ll definitely be visiting Gems again.

I went in looking for an engagement ring with my partner and the lovely staff at gems really guided us and helped us to pick the most beautiful ring for my engagement. The staff were really helpful and knowledgeable .

I needed to resize a ring.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. But the results of resizing were disappointing. The shape of the front part of a ring had been lost, it became different. It was visible without any measurements.
The shop didn't even acknowledge it was their mistake.

I’m sorry to hear that you felt the results of the resizing were disappointing. Upon collecting the ring from our premises you did not raise any concerns about the shape. This was only brought to light when you visited the store a week later.
We explained to you that the perception of the ring may look different as it was made larger; the ring would not look identical to the ring prior to resizing as we have added extra metal to the bottom of the ring. No changes were made to the top of the ring and no changes were visible to the naked eye by yourself when you had collected it, our workshop (over 25 years experience) and the shop staff (also over 25 years experience).
On your second visit you asked us if metal could be added to the top of the ring; we explained to you that this is not possible as the ring you had purchased from a third party was hollow. We also reiterated the fact that the top of the ring was an area the goldsmith would not touch because it was a hollow ring.
